Lore: Sequel to Arrival

The Captial of Arken, it is the darkest known city in the world. As it is the capital and the home to the Witch Queen herself, it is a very dangerous place to enter. Home to the toughest and roughest crooks around.

Praxis's eye's snapped shut in responce to the blood, but the quickly snapped open, burning a blindingly bright green. He levitated off the ground, the scythe still sticking into his chest. He arched backed uncontriolably as a large green fire rose out of his chest. In the fire was a naked green spectre of a beautiful woman shrieking so horribly that it caused pain in all who heard it. Even Death had to cover his ears.

Shea cowered into a ball at the sound, covering her ears, but that did little to shield her from that horrible racket. She pressed her ears closed tighter as she sat up a little, watching Praxis. The glowing green light reflected in her eyes as her mouth opened a little at the sight.

“What have you done,” she said, but could hardly be heard over the screaming woman.

Shea held one hand out, sacrificing her hearing in that ear for a few hours or days to try one last time to make Death leave her home. Her hand was surrounded by a glowing purple light that spiraled up her arm as it grew more people. “If there is one thing Death hates, its Life… Maybe this will burn you as much as your hand burned me…” Shea through the ball of energy that was her cursed healing power right at Death, aiming square for his chest.

She fell forward quickly as soon as the power left her hand, covering her ears and resting for a moment as her mind wondered on what she needed to do about Praxis and if her idea to deal with Death had worked… and to regain some of her energy.

Death smiled as Praxis's chest burst into flame followed by the terrible shriek filled with pain and rage. He scratched his ear and calmly observed, "The seal is broken and its prisoner unleashed..." Odly, Praxis echoed these words in a trancelike manner as if he were increasingly becoming but an extension of death. Meanwhile, the green flames bursting from Praxis's chest wound grew more fierce along with their occupant. As this was happening, a black liquid oozed from the scythe and seeped into Praxis's veins, and its vile color showing through his skin.

Death chuckled to himself as he watched the green spirit shriek once again as it burst forth from Praxis's chest and began to drift omnimusly toward Shea. A tenous green thread floated behind her, connecting her to Praxis. However, in his pride, Death had not noticed what Shea was preparing and he was caught by suprise as the "healing" bolt hit him in the chest.

Shea squinted her eyes shut, covering her ears once more after the healing energy hit Death. She tried to block the scream out, focusing her ears to hear what was beyond the scream… hopefully silence. She couldn’t find any comfort.

Shea looked up at the figure floating towards her, wondering why the figure chose to direct its attention to her. Shea forced herself to her feet, willing to make communication with… the Wing of Sorrow?

“What do you want?” she asked, still covering her ears from the sound.

The healing bolt knocked Death over, disturbing the spell his avatar was casting. The black ooze however still coursed through Praxis veins, but in reponce his body began to quiver and shake as if he were having a seizure.

Meanwhile, the spirit's mouth did not move, but thousands of voices began whispering in Shea's ear. Her vission starts to become blurry as the voices become louder and more painful.

"OH GOD KILL ME!"

"MAKE IT STOP! MAKE STOP!"

"AAAAAAAAHHH!"

"MOMMY MAKE IT STOP!"

"PLEASE NOT MY BABY"

"EEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH'

None of what they shout makes sense, its all a giant concophany of bloodcurlded screams and shouts. A burning sensation crosses Shea's skin, and an unatural fear, not her own entered her mind.

Shea fell onto the ground, fell to her knees as the whispered voices turned into screams, hurting her ears. She tried to cover her ears and her head as she cowered down. “Stop!” she screamed, but to her it wasn’t loud enough to get heard over the screams in her ears.

Her skin burned as if she were standing in the sun again. “Stop it!”

And this fear, it wasn’t hers, but she was starting to feel as if it was going to be if this didn’t stop.

“Praxis! Take control!” she screamed, hoping he could hear her.

The voices in Shea's head grew louder and closer together until they were one continous concophany of screams. The green figure look her squarely in the eye, a look of pain and anger on its face caught in its endless scream. The ghostly woman eveloped Shea as she could see its horrible face take up her entire view. Like smoke entering a chimney, the ghosly woman entered Shea's body through her eyes. The pain of the burning became so intense that her vision began to blur and darken, but as it it did, Praxis's face began to twitch. Before she blacked out she managed to catch a glimpse of a white circular flame above Praxis's head as it contorted into a face of absolute rage. Darkness took over and she lost consciousness..............

Her eyes snapped upon as she looked around. She was in the dungeon of her castle, but something didn't feel right. She felt afraid and she couldn't explain why. She looked down and found that her body was that of a teenage girl, and there was an obseese man approaching her with a knife a killer's look in his eye. She pleaded for her life with words not her own, and saw Praxis standing in the corner with a look of disgust in his eye. He chastised her for her pleading and told her that he was saving her from the jaws of a demon. With that the obese man slashed the dagger across her throat and she contorted on the ground in pain and agony as she felt her life drain away from her.

Her eyes snapped open again. She was in her dungeon again but this time she had the body of a muscular old man. A wounded and beaten Praxis kneeled on the floor before her, a sly grin crossed his face as he began to chuckle lightly. A feeling of confusion not her own crossed her mind. He was laughing as she was about to kill him.

Shea looked around and saw two of her loyal soldiers at her side. Yet before she new it she was killing them. Then something miracoulous happened as the blood of her former comrades struck Praxis face. His eyes glowed a fierce green like before, and that vile ghost woman was again bursting out of his back. She felt the same burning sensation as before as she looked into the eys of the green ghost. Again the ghost entered her body, but instead of losing consciousness, she looked down to find her flesh boiling off her skin. In a man's voice she screamed fiercely as her body was slowly disintergrated. An extreme amount of pain coursed through her manly body as darkness took over her vision again.....

She woke up, and gratefully looked down at her own body. She also found that her movements were again her own. Yet darkness still sourounded her. Something in the distance slowly approached her. It was one her generals, the one who tried to kill Praxis and failed. The same body she just expirienced getting disintegrated. Something was different however, his eyes had bright green irises. He sneered, "well well it appears the....mighty Queen of Arken...finally gets to expirience some of the pain and suffering she creates on a daily basis."

Shea sat up, watching the old guard warily. She didn't know what was real and what was fantasy anymore. She looked around suddenly, remember how hot her skin had felt, how it felt like it had burnned away.

"I'm sure this is only temporary..." she muttered, closing the robe, which really did little good of covering herself since it was almost seethrough. She stood up, feeling strangely weakened, though she could guess why since she had that... thing try and get inside her. That thing... Praxis...

She looked around for him, hoping he's alright.

Wait... She looked at the general. "You're supposed to be dead..." Though, since Death was the cause of most of her troubles today she wasn't surprise someone dead was walking towards her.

She tilted her head in a confused manner wondering if he were a ghost or something different... Either way there was a potential for danger.... And his eyes were different... An eerie feeling came over her, despite the fact it was something very unlike her.

"What do you want?"

The man laughed at her.....

"Its not what I want...its what we want, what he wants....we wants your soul....."

Shea stepped back. "Well, you can't have it, I'm sorry to disappoint you. Whose we though?" she asked. She folded her arms across her chest. "Besides my soul isn't worth anything, its already damned." A smile came to her beautiful face.

The man laughed....."you'll get to meet us real soon....meanwhile enjoy a taste of what awaits you in the afterlife...."

The man's voiced faded out as Shea's eyes snapped open to reveal her standing in the middle of an isolated dirt road. A hooded figure in a dark rune-covered robe approuched her. She found herself in a man's body and involuntarily yelling out, "Your money or your life!"

The hooded figured calmly spoke back without breaking his stride, "Oh I think you shall have neither. In fact, if you do not step out of my way both of yours shall be mine."

Shea in the brigands body called back "Last chance, I have four men in the woods all with bows drawn on you!" As the figure drew closer he calmly spoke again "fool I am never alone." As the hooded-figure closed within swords reach he calmly called out "Kantu."

A ball of magic flashed behind her, and before she could react, she felt mascular arms wrap around her neck and break it. As she lay dying with the darkness closing in she could see the hooded figure, never once breaking stride, step over her body, and a muscular monk deflecting arrows and killing the four other men. Shea then expirienced the other four men's deaths.

Many deaths later she found herself in a very muscular young monks body she recognised as Kantu's. She had a dagger in his hand, and Praxis was standing above him. He explained to her, "If you decided to go through with this your present weak mortal body will disintegrate, your soul will be burned of all weakness, you will join with me and arise more powerful than you can ever imagine. If you agree to this than seal our agreement with blood." Shea involuntarily slashed her finger with the dagger and she dripped it onto a piece of parchment. Praxis then dipped his finger into the blood and the familar female ghost burst out of his back. The same familar burning pain crossed her flesh as her body disintegrated. Before the end she could her Praxis utter the words "arise Kantu the Void!"....

In the darkness Shea found herself again in her own body under her own control. Again out of the darkness she could see a man approach her. It was Kantu.

"I am really getting tired of this," she muttered, looking at Kantu oddly. "Now, what do you want?" She didn't understand why she was being showed all this. It was most aggrivating. "Come to tell me you 'wants' my soul?"

"What have you done with Praxis!!"

Kantu's eyes were green as well. He calmly spoke, "no need to repeat ourselves." He looked her in the eye, "He's going to make you an offer. I suggest you take it. The alternative, well...it like this only far worse."

"I don't take offers from people I haven't seen yet... And I don't take offers from people I don't trust. You're wasting your time. Go away. Get out of my palace. You're not welcomed here," she raised her hand palm flat towards him, trying to use her magic to nock him back. She was tired of feeling the deaths of hundreds of people. She was angry, aggrivated... tired... sore... She was really everything at the moment.
