Lore: Sequel to Arrival

The Captial of Arken, it is the darkest known city in the world. As it is the capital and the home to the Witch Queen herself, it is a very dangerous place to enter. Home to the toughest and roughest crooks around.

Praxis sensed HER presence before she entered the room. As she shut the door behind her, he focused on the dead body and spoke emotionlessly to Shea without looking up. "I'm opening a portal... You shouldn't be here, something could accidentaly come through which could be hazardous to your health..."

He pauses for a moment, and quickly glanced up with a small look of regret on his face. "a...I wouldn't want to lose such a valauble assest."

Shea grinned and tilted her head. "How sweet of you to worry about little ole' me..." she said with a seducing grin. "Don't worry, I can handle myself thank you."

She gazed at the dead body and then to him, her eyes showing interest and malice. "Go a head, love..." she whispered to him. "I'm a brave girl...."

Dimerion nodded to Camron. "I am well," he replied. "Though... I am a bit hungry, I don't suppose you'd be able to send a meal in for me. I'm in the mood for some... elf," he decided. "They're the tenderest of the species I've eaten, especially the children."

Praxis looked into her eyes. "..love.." It was clear in his eyes that the word stung him deeply, but he steeled himself against the emotion. He forcefully directed his thoughts away. The image of a deep, dark cave, frozen solid in ice, formed in his mind and a sense of longing along with it. It was then that he realized exactly who he was looking at and with all his willpower, he banished all thoughts out of his mind.

He let out an exasperated sigh, his face visable irritated by her presence but he cleverly hid the reason for his irritation. "Fine then, you've been warned. All I ask is that no matter what happens, please do not interfer." He pauses for a minute to consider exactly what he's going to tell her. "This is just a routine transaction, you needn't be involved."

Shea gave a wicked grin that only enhanced her beautiful features, her dark eyes looking him over as she moved to lean against the wall and folding her arms across her chest.

"Don't worry, have all the fun you want. I shall not bother you..."

The maid smiled and bowed. "I shall return with a nice sized child for you... I'm sure we have one down in the dungeon ...."

The maid left him and then shortly returned with a very weak teenage boy around 15. "I hope this suites you?"

Miah could see a mix of anxiety, fear, and excitement in his eyes. She didn't quite understand the werewolf, but paid little attention to his strange emotions. She looked at Lena, who seemed confused, and smiled at her in reasurrance.

"Einocktura," Miah said, "Do you think she'll remember y'all's deal from so long ago?"

Lena was still confused. She had never thought she would enter the castle. But she was here now, waiting for the queen.

"Miah, what are exactly doing here?"

"We're waiting for the Queen to get here and see Enoc's army." She looked over at Einocktura over ger shoulder and then back at Lena. "I think he's a little bit nervous. What do YOU think?" She giggled.

Praxis quickly turned back to the female corpse. Without looking up, he barks at its murderer with a tinge of anger, "leave us." He reaches back and scratches the back of his head, concentrating very hard to bury the dark secrets contained in it. As the rather spherical man leaves, he turns his attention to the blood. Dipping his fingers in the slowly coagulatinng pool, he gasps as the power it contains coarses through his body. With a trembling hand he draws a pentagram on the wall, and utters in demonc, "Korgas vita seught. Param unter forquas... Unsi Verantar!"

A large blast echos through the room as the wall beneath the pentagram impodes, revealing the empty darkness of the void. Praxis peers in, and turns his head. He notices a flickering yellow light in the distance and he steps into the gaping hole. As soon as he crosses over, gravity ceases to function, and he floats without anything supporting him. "Enoch," he utters as green flaming wings erupt from his back. He soars off towards the light. In the distance, a small red light seperates from the larger yellow one, and moves to intercept him.

Shea watched, leaning her slim curved form against the wet stone. She watched with a placid face of interest, on the inside smiling and admiring the demon's skill.

Praxis glances briefly over the shoulder and is releived to see no one was following him from the hole. Especially not her, he thinks to himself. He has a brief chance to let his gaurd down, taking great comfort in the familar, severe chill of the void. He thoughts drift to a dark floating palace of ice, a frozen tomb, home. He welcomed the chance to get away from the searing heat, the pain he felt around mortals, especially her. Something about her, brings up things he beleived to be buried long ago. STOP IT WITH THOSE FOOLISH SENTIMETS! his mind shouts at itself.

Realizing the red light was slowly growing bigger, he stops and starts chanting again. "Aram... veratu.. krasagi... veloth... turok!" Like an unseen hand tearing black fabric, a large patch of darkness rips away, revealing a intensely bright green light. The light quickly subsides, and in its place rests a large, shimmering silver upside-down (relative to Praxis) pyramid. Hovering above the base sits a glowing green firery orb whose ilumination reflects off of its every surface.

Feeling the weak tug of the pyramid's gravity enchantment, he lands on the base, anticipating a visitor.

OOC: Sorry for such a short post... I murdered my back with a handstand and right now it hurts so bad I can't even think to good!

Shea wanted to follow him, to see what he would see, but it was better not to mess with anothers spell. Things could go wrong when someone entered another's spell.

She was beginning to get slightly bored, not having anything to do and just standing and watching. If only she would persuade Praxis to join her in her chambers for a few hours...

That would make her grandfather truly angry, but Shea didn't care. All her life she had been testing his authority.

Praxis stood tall on the perfectly flat floor, puffing himself up into the most prideful stance he could muster. He eyed the bright fireball expectatly, but as it grow larger he saw somethig he did not expect. Flying towards him was a a youthful gray-skinned woman clad in a leather figure-fitting two piece bikini. Her long white hair billowed behind her. Her eyes glowed a deep violette red and iluminated the darkness. Her ears were long and pointed. Those ears and slim figure suggested an elvish decent, but Praxis knew that inference was but a illusion designed specificallty to fool men's hearts. She's quite gifted at that, he thought to himself. A succubus to the core. Beneath that disarming appearence is not an elf's innocent heart, but one that's as hot and spiteful as the 9th circle of hell.

He raised an eybrow as she gracefully landed on the surface. She was the last thing he expected or wanted. In a rather disinterested tone, he raised his voice, "I take it Mephisteles was..." He was cut off by the a shout. "Bastard!," the woman screamed as a red tendril of fire shot out of her finger past Praxis's face. She violently threw back her arm as the whip-like tendril lashed at Praxis's unflinching face.

"Satisisfied?," he asked mockingly. "Any of your mortal friends ever tell you you look really good when your angry?" He added just to get under her skins.

She let out an irritated growl. "I don't get angry at them. They don't leave to fight some stupid battle, disappear for 200 some years, and within that time, not once tell me where they're going!"

He calmly retorted, "May I remind you that just because I tolerated your presence for a brief time, doesn't mean I'm one of your mortal playthings. You don't control my soul, and you never will. So why don't you just stop your little control game, and stop wasting our time. I beleive you were sent her to do a job."

OOC: Intermission...Let's go down to the lobby! Let's go down to the lobby! Let's go down to the loooby; to get ourselves a snack.

Shea was beginning to get slightly bored, since she wasnt in on the action. She looked up at the bright light, contemplating on following him, but not wanting to risk screwing with a spell she she stayed where she was, hoping it would be over soon or something exciting wuold happen before she fell a sleep.

"Oh its always business business business with you!" the succubus shot back, her eyes scanning over his body. She stared deeply into his eyes, his green-ringed pupils reflecting her deep red irises. Praxis remained still, unmoved by her words.

"You need to relax... have some fun," she whsipered seductively as she slowly raised her open hand to his cheek. Just before it touched his face, the gesture was abrubtly halted as Praxis violently grabed the tresspassing hand by the wrist. Her eyes and cheeks glowed brigtly red with a mixture of shame, disapointment and offense.

"Just finish the transaction," Praxis coldly replied as he let go of her hand. Without a word, the succubus half-heartedly held up her hand, and Praxis quickly interlocked his fingers with hers. They both tightly curled their fingers into the backs of their hands. Red claws shot out from the succubus's fingertips and simultaneusly green ones shot out from Praxis's. Both claws cut deeply into their respective hands, and blood tricked down inbetween the interlocked palms. The moment the two streams met, a large green and red flame enveloped the hands. Both demons let out pained roars. After a moment, Praxis quickly ripped his hand away. "Your boss has been payed. Now if you excuse me, I'm going to take my commission and leave." Praxis dictated as he turned away. Uttering a demonic phrase, his wings shot out and he took off, leaving the succubus floating alone in the cold, empty blackness of the void.

In a complicated manuver, Praxis landed through the portal. Panting heavily from the ordeal of the transaction, he looked around the room to get his bearings. Noticing Shea, he quickly shot up, hiding any sign of weakness. A broad smile crossed his face as he boasted, "the wait is over. The Wings of Sorrow ride again!" However, his celebration was cut short as the succubus suddenly appeared through the portal.

Shea's smile turned into its usual seductive grin that she loved to throw at Praxis as he appeared from the portal, seemingly whole and a bit happy.

As he announced the news of the Wings of Sorrow being returned to its former glory. A snort of laughter came from her as the succubus came through the portal as if she was announcing herself as the Wings of Sorrow.

"Oh, look Praxis, she followed you home!" Shea began in her smooth silky voice as she pushed off from leaning against the wall and took several graceful steps forward. "Is she house broken? I don't like animals peeing on my nice rugs." Every word was dripping with sarcasm.
