Mia froze when he came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her. She used to would have not mind him doing this, but with that unexplained voice in his head she had no idea what he might do or when. She tried to act natural and even after a few seconds her shivering started over.
"Uh... yea, he was the one I saw, the one who attacked me..." she said, swallowing for a moment and then finally relaxing totally as her fear and uncertainty was aimed at someone knew. "And I don't care if you kill him... I don't want him attacking me again.

Bejei retracted his arms from around Mia as he pulled backwards. He couldn't believe she wanted him to kill the man. Although, he wanted to kill the fool, he didn't think Mia would agree with him. Maybe, his corruption had rubbed off on Mia somehow, and she had lost her innocence. He decided he still cared about her either way since she didn't think ill of him for being the person he is.
"Lets get back to the carnival and get you some new clothes. You're shivering..." He grabbed both Mia's arms and rubbed it up and down, trying to stop her from shivering.
Bejei stopped and strolled pass her, giving her a little wave to follow him. Although, it seemed his guard was down, he was awared of everything around him, and if the wing man exposed himself then Bejei wouldn't hesitate to kill him for attacking Mia.

Mia didn't know why she had told Bejei to kill the man. It was unlike her to say something like that. Usually she was preaching that no creature diserved to die or no thing diserved to die unless it was truely evil. Maybe she already knew that the man who had attacked her was truely evil?
Maybe.
Or maybe there was something else wrong with her... What could it be though. Nothing had happened to change her except well...
But, that couldn't possibly be it.
Mia followed behind Bejei, rubbing the feeling back into her arms. Its when she noticed the state of her clothing. She immediatly crossed her arms across her chest, hoping Bejei hadn't noticed a thing.
She walked behind him like this, wondering exactly how far away the carnvial was.
"What did the psychic tell you?" she asked him, finally remembering.
Maybe.

Bejei kept his gaze up ahead as he heard Mia's question. He didn't want to worry her too much on the situation, but should he lie to her? Could he hold back the truth just a little in order not to scare her? He knew the voice already upset her, but if she knew what lied within him then surely things were going to be difficult.
"The psychic..?" He uttered, pretending as though he didn't really hear her question. "She told me that there's an evil spirit living within me, and if I don't do something soon then it will take over me for good." He hated that he told her the truth, but he had to sooner or later. "The psychic told me that in order to remove it's presence.... I need an exorcism or... " He paused before continuing. "I have to be kill..."
Bejei didn't know how Mia would take the news, and he allow her time to absorb it. Hopefully, he didn't tell her about the other part... the part about something pure evil residing within her body. He actually didn't know what the psychic meant by it, but he knew it couldn't be good at all. As his gaze shifted forward, he could see the view of the carnival. They were almost there.
"Mia, do you want me to hide you from people? I know you're wearing white, and wetting it makes it see through."

So her suspicions had been correct? He had an evil spirit in him.... It wasn't his fault that he had hurt her like he had. That evil spirit had harmed her through Bejei, making her feel fear of him... She didn't need to fear him, she needed to fear the evil spirit. The one that had told Bejei it wanted something from her!
"Be killed?" she whispered so softly that he couldn't here her. "That's horrible..."
She hoped that it didn't come to that. She couldn't handle it if she had to kill him or she had to watch him be killed for something like this.
Mia looked up at him, unable to see how he could hide her from people and still manage to get her into the carnival. "How can you hide me?"

Bejei continued to walk until they drew near the carnival, and he knew eyes would be drawn to Mia because of her outfit being wet. It was going to reveal her figure for all to see, especially the men. He's not jealous of other people eyeballing his girlfriend, but someone might take it further, thinking they have a chance with her... like that wing fool. He's not taking any chances.
"Mia..." He uttered to her as he grabbed a nearby towel. "Drape this over your body, and follow closely behind me then you'll be ok."
He offered the towel to Mia as he waited for her to get it on. He then continued onward, hoping she was close behind.

Mia wrapped the towel around herself, pulling it tight and holding it there. She followed behind Bejei, trying to blend in and act as if she wasn't there. To make sure she stayed close to him and didn't get lost in the crowd she grabbed on to his belt with two fingers and followed him through the carnival.
She was glad once they finally reached her tent. She rushed in dropping the towel close to the flap of the tent and going to her chest that contained all her clothes.
She pulled a simple dark blue dress from it and pulled her wet clothes off. She changed into the dark blue dress, happy to have the uncomfortable wet ones off.
She reached behind her, having to button the dress up the back, which was hard to do if you couldn't see behind you. She just had to feel around for the buttons.

Bejei didn't immediately enter the tent after Mia. He allowed her to get dress, and when he figured she was done, he tossed the flap aside and entered. He was glad she was fully clothes since he felt a little awkward after the incident he saw when meeting with the psychic.
He watched her button up the dress, and he just couldn't get the image of himself hurting Mia in the forest out of his mind. How could he allow such a thing to take place? The voice or evil spirit must be more powerful than he anticipated. If it could do that then what would stop it from taking control of him right now. He decided to take care of business with the strange wing man first.
"Do you have any idea why this guy is after you?" He asked her curiously. "If I didn't know any better... I believe he might be interested in you... like who wouldn't."

Mia sighed. Hadn't he already asked her this question three times? Maybe he couldn't find anything else to say? What had the psychic shown him to make him repeat questions over and over?
"No I don't know what he wants from me... He just grabbed me and kept staring at me. He's been following me. It started when we almost ran into him coming out of the tent the night after the performance..." she explained getting aggrivated with the last botton that just refused to go through the button whole.
She sighed, letting her hands drop to her sides before they came up and ran through her tangled white hair.

Bejei could tell in Mia's response that she was slightly annoyed at him for asking her the question time and time again. He decided that he didn't blame her for being angry with him since she had to carry so much load on her shoulders after she met him.
"Are you feeling ok lately?" He asked while he turned his back to her. "You seemed kind of angry." His eyes altered to a bright shade of red before returning to normal.

Mia didn’t turn around and face him or anything. She just kept staring at the wall, trying to figure out why she felt so angry and upset. She tried to direct that anger at the winged creature, and it worked for the most part. But, she still felt some bit aimed at Bejei.
To much had happened to her in the last few days and her brain kept putting off processing it over and over until the unprocessed feelings and memories just kept building and building until she didn’t think she could take it anymore and she almost screamed out in frustration.
“I’m feeling...” she said, tyring to answer Bejei’s question. But, she couldn’t seem to finish a lie today.“I’m feeling...” she tried again, swallowing that stupid knot in her throat. “Horrible...”
She swallowed hard again, almost gasping for air that she felt she couldn’t get. She felt horrible for being so rude to him. He didn’t diserve her anger directed at him. He couldn’t help what was happening to him.
“I’m sorry...” she sat down on the pillows that were scattered the floor. “I didn’t mean to be mean... It’s just... With whats been happening lately with you and now this guy... and that day inthe clearing. Its getting hard to... to just bury it all in... and it...” She couldn't finish it.

Bejei knew she was feeling terrible. He figured it was the recent events that plagued her emotions. However, he had a feeling it could be something else as well... The events along couldn't have caused her the mood swings. He hoped it was something he inplanted in her that was taking root.
"It's ok Mia. I totally understand. I don't want you to feel sad or anything. I will leave you alone until you get things sorted out." He told her while he began to walk towards the exit. "Don't think that I'm using your emotions to leave... I'll just be at the place where you showed me if you want to find me." He waited for any response from her before he would take his leave.

Mia stared after him with teary eyes as he walked towards the door to leave her. She didn't want to be left alone at a time like this... Though she was very used to people not comforting her when she needed it.
"Okay..." she said, looking down. "I'll find you..."
He was probably the type that couldn't handle a crying woman around them and needed to walk away because they didn't know how to deal with it.
She didn't feel she would be crying for much longer, but if he wanted to get away he could. He was probably aggrivated with her being so weak emotionally and unable to protect herself.
That place he was going was the last place she wanted to go really. It was where the evil spirit made Bejei hurt her... But, if it was where she would find him she must go.

Bejei could sense her sadness, and he didn't want to do anything to her while they resided within the carnival. He would leave for the sacred place she showed him and hoped she would look for him there. That's a secluded location, and anything could happen without anyone knowing it.
"I'm sorry if the spirit made me hurt you. I care deeply for you." He told her, although he only cared for the being growing inside her. "There is something I want to tell you, but I'll tell you after you're feeling better."
Bejei turned around and noticed her teary eyes. He made his way over to Mia and pulled into his arms before kissing her firmly on the cheek. He brought his hand up and wiped away her tears before giving her a false reassuring smile. He then exited her tent and made his way to their secret special place.

After several minutes she stood up and grabbed a black cloak. She pulled it over her shoulders and fastened it with a silver pin. She didn't want to get cold.
She combed her hair and pulled it back into a strange fashion on her head that was three braids that pulled together to form a loose bun. White strands of hair fell all around her face. She pulled the hood over her head and stepped out, following the trail into the woods, getting off it only to head towards that secret place.
It was cold that night and the moon was high in the air. She could see her breath fog in front of her face. It must be getting close to winter, she thought. It wasn't extremely cold, just cold enough to make her breath fog.
"Bejei?" she asked as she pushed through the brush into the clearing.
