Tenele smiled and shook her head. "Its been dull, though the Shogun is a very interesting man. We met a centaur... for one a few minutes. She bond herself to me... and then she was murdered only moments after... I have been looking for her murder, because I don't really know what it was all about."
I have gotten slightly bored however, she thought to herself. She wasn't about to admit that she had missed Vladimir's company. "So... do I know anyone you were traveling with?"

Vlad raised an eyebrow with interest as Tenele mentioned that she was with the Shogun. "Oh, my companions are barrels of fun. A samurai woman and her guardian who are quite uselessly smitten with each other, a temperamental girl who's afraid her head will fall off if she removes her scarf, her horse, who in my opinion is randy for her, an elf whose skills are healing and oogling at our leader, a fairy whose skills are whining and oogling at our leader, and our leader, whose skills are leading and being oogled at, apparently."

Tenele laughed and shook her head. "I'm sorry you were tormented so horribly by these people," she said sarcasticly, pushing back her silver hair.
"Well, the Shogun is... somewhere... We don't actually get along that well... For one thing I'm a noble and in a city like Hepian you need to keep that a secret for obvious reasons and he seems to enjoy telling everyone that in one way or another... He also seems to think we're all barbarians..."

"Well, I think I have barbarian tendencies when someone makes me mad," she said, grinning. "Why, have a problem with barbarians now Vladimir?"
Tenele pulled her hair back, taking her arm out of the loop. She couldn't stand the messy unbrushed feel of her hair any longer and she pulled it back into a very loose bun.

"You're fun when you're mad," Vlad responded noncommittally, putting his arms up behind his head. As Tenele brushed her silvery hair back behind her ears, for an instant his attention instinctively caught on the soft throat underneath, reminding him of the strange hunger he'd felt all day. Remembering Talon's words about a spell, an annoyed look came briefly to his face and then dissolved back into arrogance while he willfully subdued the unwanted instinct.
Up ahead of them, a grouchy looking middle-aged farmer was struggling to round up a large group of chickens into a flatbed cart. A large sign on the side of the cart read "Fresh Chikens" and the animals seemed to live up to their name. Unfortunately, the farmer's methodology was not very clever, and for each chicken he managed to throw into the cart, several would squabble back out. Vlad watched keenly as they approached while the man gradually won the battle, kicking at some of the birds and shouting curses until all but a few chickens were into the cart, save for two or three who were particularly high-spirited.
"Shall we help the good farmer?" Vlad asked Tenele darkly, though it was clear from his voice that she had already lost all choice in the matter.

Though Nickole was a blue fairy and she had turned her ring to keep her color from glowing, she was unable to stop her face from glowing a fierce red.
How dare he! What an insolent, stupid vampire... she fumed.
Finding Talon's sister, Tenele had been relatively easy. Nickole knew enough to give Talon a report - no matter how unpleasant - about her. The girl was beautiful in each way, like Talon, but she had a certain dark aura to her. Not really like she was dark but perhaps like some had rubbed off on her aura b/c she had gotten too close to a large source of darkness... or a very dark thing... Vlad's not a person...
Calming herself down, she settled down as she watched them from behind the leaves, waiting for her chance to go.

Tenele looked at Vlad, curious as to why he would want to help a lonely farmer with his chickens. Vlad was certainly not the good simaritan type that was for sure.
Tenele ran after a chicken, feeling very... emberassed to be chacing something so primative. She almost caught it three or for times, and knew that Vlad would have better luck since he had his vampire quickness and such.

Vladimir halted and blinked as Tenele broke ahead and actually began chasing down one of the man's chickens. The farmer looked at her gratefully if a little breathlessly as the bird he had just got hold of beat his face furiously with its wings, several of its companions escaping in the meantime.
Vlad watched for a moment in amazement, and finally began laughing - not his normal cynical laugh, but a real laugh that began very low and then opened up into a surprisingly pleasant tone.
"Crazy woman, you actually thought I meant to help him? You're chasing a chicken!" he called out to her, shaking his head incredulously as he began to recover himself. His plans to upset the man's cart and 'haunt' his chickens had been thwarted along with their element of surprise, but since this seemed equally amusing, he didn't care.
The vampire danced backwards as a sharp sensation dug into the roof of his boot. He looked down to see one of the chickens at his feet, pecking curiously at theleather on his shoe. Vlad bent half-heartedly to knab the creature, but it darted to the side, then pecked at his heel again.
The vampire raised an eyebrow darkly. The game was on, and the bird knew it. Apparently forgetting what he'd just teased Tenele about, he took off after the chicken with a sadistic grin.

Tenele looked up curiously at Vladimir as she heard laughter that was most unusual for him. It wasn't filled with the usual insanity that she thought was always common in it. She held the squirming chicken firmly to her chest. Her eyes were bulging from her head and she looked frightened. Tenele would almost feel the heart beat through the feathers. The chicken began to squirm and it scratched Teneles arm that was under the chicken holding her up. Tenele held the chicken's feet so she couldn't scratch her any more.
She laugh as she watch Vlad chase the chicken that chose to torment him so. It was funny to watch the No Life King stoop to revenge against a two legged fluffy ball of feathers.

Vlad finally snatched up the foul and held it up at arm's length, giving it a triumphant smirk. He carried it over to the cart, which was now nearly empty as the rest of the chickens had succeeded in revolting against their master. "You're welcome," the vampire said blandly, dropping the sulking chicken into the empty cart while the overwhelmed farmer stared at him blankly. "And," added Vlad, leaning down near the front of the cart, where the farmer had been frantically loading the chickens in and seeing them easily walk back out. Reaching under, he found a hinge and lifted up a fourth gate that swung up and bolted into the sides of the cart with a simple latch. "The chickens may respect you more if your cart has four walls."

Talon walked towards the inn, beckoning the others to follow him. He didn't exactly have enough coin to buy everyone a room. He could, however, explain that they were on official duty from the Queen and show the ring he hadn't used in a good while.
He pulled it from a pouch on his belt and looked at it in his fingers. He opened the door to the inn and stepped in. It wasn't too crowded, and it was a nice place. He turned around before going up to the inn keeper for a room, looking for the others to come through the door.
Tenele laughed and put the chicken into the cart, a slight cut on her arm from where the chicken had scratched at her with his feet.
She thought it was funny that Vlad had been so kind as to chase a chicken and give it to the man.
Tenele walked up to Vlad with a smile, holding a cloth to her cut.
