Lore: (mature) Running Out of Time(Just outside of Hepian)
Bejei figured it wasn't so easy to kill the bastard. He immediately sidestepped to the right just as he brought the katana up to block the other attack. It seemed he wasn't quick enough since the sword thrust to his midsection grazed the armor as it passed by.
He retreated back as he saw Mia jammed the dagger into the man's legs. This was the opportunity he was looking for. He sheathed the katana and ran over to her, grabbed her by the wrist and dragged her out the door.
"Lets go!" He pulled her along, hoping he wouldn't hurt her like before.

Mia pushed herself up as Bejei took her hand. She leaned on him, holding his arm as they ran our the door and down through the house. Mia was feeling as if she was moving in slow motion and everything else was moving in fast forward.
Keifer gritted his teeth and watched them as he pulled the knife from his leg. He smiled slightly and then laughed. It wasn't an insane laugh, just a laugh as if he thought something was ironic.

Bejei pulled Mia close to him as he pushed through the bustling crowd. Good. They could lose the freak back there in the crowd. He continued to push through until they made it back to the gate. He believed Mia was safer in the forest... with him.
"This way Mia." He grabbed her hand and pulled her into the forest... the place they first met.
He continued to drag her along until he was sure they had lost the man in the crowd. He stopped before glancing behind them.
"Are you ok?" Bejei stared into her eyes. "Who was that guy?"

Mia slid down a tree with her back against it. She waited until she had caught her breath before she answered him. "My future husband... If I wouldn't have left the village..." she said sighing and pulling the robe to where it looked more decent than it did. It had gotten loose in all the fighting and one side was hanging off her shoulder.
"I went back about a week ago, when I was running from Terion. We got into a fight, he hit me and I I emberassed him by hitting him back and by degrading him. He came into my room and attacked me. Teiron happened to be there at my house eating dinner with my family. He didn't want Keifer to hurt me. He wanted me well so he could fight me, kill me, and eat me. Teiron stopped him. I knew that if I didn't end it, that I would never escape Keifer. So I told Teiron that if he killed Keifer I would fight him willingly. I thought he was dead, but apparently Keifer is stronger than I thought."
Mia was to tired to care if she gave up almost her whole life story to Bejei. He had saved her life enough to diserve that.

"I see..." Bejei replied while he still processed the information. "You were betroth to that fool, and now he wants to kill you. What a idiot..."
He glanced around the surrounding area once more before returning his gaze to her tired form. She was in dire need of clothing, but he couldn't go back to the town since Keifer might recognized him. They have to travel to another town.
"Do you need a rest or should we leave?" He asked her. "We need to buy you some clothes somewhere else."

Bejei walked over to her and wrapped his right arm around her waist like before. He needed to support her on their travel since he still felt obligated to.
"I did leave, but I went into a deep meditation. At that state, I sensed your struggle, and I followed your faint spirit energy until I found you." He answered. "Don't think too much into it."
He pulled her closer to him while he grabbed her left arm and swung it over his shoulder. He had to be careful this time not to get too rough on her.
"Do you know where the next closest town is located?" Bejei asked her as they walked forward.

Mia helped support herself, holding onto his shirt with than hand that wasn't around his neck.
"I think there is a smaller one before you get to Hepian," she told him, looking his face over with narrowed eyes.
"I haven't got any money... I haven't got anything. Why do you continue to help someone you care nothing about?" she asked in a whisper, her voice tired as well as her eyes.

Bejei ignored her question since it was a touchy subject, and he didn't want to talk about it. He actually enjoyed her company more so than he'd imagined, but he couldn't let her know that.
"Ok... why don't you lead the way while I support you." He replied. "I have money so you don't have to worry about that. Just lead us to the town."

They had finally made it to the small town that Mia was talking about. He felt a little weary for holding her, but he knew she was more exhausted than he was. He could feel her head on his shoulder, and it was something that his wife used to do when she was tired so he allowed it to stay there.
He supported her all the way into town. He saw a tavern and made his way inside it. The place was all booked for the night except one room, and he was reluctant to take it, but he figured she could take the bed. He took her upstairs and into the room.
"Mia, wake up." He whispered into her ears. "You can have the bed while I sleep on the chair. We'll pick up some clothes tomorrow."

Mia nodded and walked to the water basin like she was walking in her sleep. She pored some water into the bowl and dipped the rag in it, pulling it back out and wiping the dirt off her face, leaning aginast the table with one hand. She wiped down her neck, hating going to bed dirty.
Though this wasn't a bath it would have to do, she was to tired and sore to do anything else.
Mia finished washing herself off and pulled the covers back on the bed. She laid down, pulling the covers over her. She was almost a sleep when she looked to him through half closed eyes. "Bejei... Thank you." Then she slipped into sleep.

Mia blinked several times as she woke up, feeling stiff and sore. She sat up, gentle touching the sides of her face where most of the hits had landed. Her left side was lined with light bruises and her right side had one big one on her cheek bone.
"I bet I don't look very pretty," she muttered running her hands through her hair to use as a brush.
She stood up slowly and adjusted the robe to where it looked decent again.
