Lore: (mature) Running Out of Time(Just outside of Hepian)

This is the forest that covers most of Ighten in dense and thick trees. It is the oldest forest in Heirot, since most of the Forests in Arken have been destroyed. It is well known as a haunted forest where ghosts and demons reside. In the forest are many villages. The villagers will tell you tales of trees that eat people, gaint spiders, and dragon lairs.

Bejei frowned at her childish behavior. She was a grown woman who still acted like a four year old. Maybe, she haven't mature enough on the inside like she was on the outside. How strange these things are, but one thing he would never understand was... a woman's behavior?

He didn't care to look at her while she put the robe on. However, her every word was absorbed by him just as she passed by. He was no longer going to put up with her. He did what he had to do, and now, it was time for him to leave. He wished he would never see her face again.

Bejei stormed out of the room and passed Mia. He forcibly nudged her aside with his shoulder as he made his way to the entrance door.

"I should have let that werewolf devour your body... leaving only a rotten corpse for the vultures to gouge at." He shouted back to her while he clutched the door handle. "Suit yourself. I've wasted considerable amount of time on you already. I even stayed here until you awoke. I'm out of here." He burst through out the door.

Mia gasped and made a painful sound when Bejei nudged her out of the way with his shoulder. She held her side and glared at him.

He is such a child! she thought, hunched over and holding her side.

"Oh stop making me feel sorry for you," she told him walking behind him and out the door, but not as feirce as he had. "I told you thank you didn't I?" she asked. "Besides I have a right to be mad at you, you almost killed me. Or does that big head of yours allow the bad things to escape to keep it swollen?"

Bejei immediately shifted his harden gaze to meet hers. He was beginning to get tire of her unthoughtful actions, especially her mouth kept on running even with the condition she was in. The woman had some nerve talking to him like that. He would out right slaughter someone who did that, but...

"Damn woman!!! You're so stubborn... like a mule." He blurted out without thinking of the consequences it might have. "You have got to be the most thick headed woman I've ever met."

He turned away from her as he took in a breath of fresh air before continuing. "Besides, my head is not big..."

Mia walked beside Bejei. "Hard headed? Yea, so I've been told," she said, still holding the side of her chest.

Her white hair got caught up in a strong gust of wind. "If I'm so stuborn why did you stay around to see if I'm alright?"

Bejei watched her carefully at the corner of his eye. He couldn't quite figure he out yet, and he would probably never do. She was one of those odd type of woman... whatever those types are.

He hated when Mia asked questions that he knew the answer to, but he didn't like to response to. She was obviously getting too close to him, and he didn't like that idea. He preferred to be alone, but she was making things too difficult.

"Do you honestly want to know why I stayed?" Bejei asked her. "I... I took the blame for your injury and near death. That's why I stayed to see if you were ok. Now... are you happy?"

Mia looked at him and blinked for a moment, she lowered her gaze for a second. "Even though you did it... I'm sure you didn't mean to. So, thanks for saving me... again. I owe you my life. If you ever need me, I travel with a carnival... the only carnival."

It looked as if it was killing her to say it, but then she took on the same attitude she had before. Her beautiful golden skin shimmering in the sun.

"Truce?" she asked, holding out her small hand, the other hand holding her side.

Bejei's gaze softened to a point where he looked like a normal nice guy, but it only last a few seconds before it reverted back to its fierceness. He glanced to the side and at Mia. Her words seemed genuine enough so he could push their quarrels aside for now.

"Don't mention it." He replied after a moment of silence.

He stared at her hand before extending out his own to greet hers. He firmly shooked it before retracting his hand.

"Where are you heading from here?" He asked with all honesty.

Mia looked around on the busy street and shrugged. "I have no money, no food, and... no clothes. I have no idea where my home is, I have no idea where I'm going and until I can find out where the carnival is..."

She glanced at him out of the corner of her eye. "Where are you going?" she asked.

Mia was getting stared at, but wasn't paying attention. She was used to being noticed since she was a sky dancer. But, no one knew her that well. It was mainly because she was a J'ra, and J'ra's rarely travel alone and out of the village.

Bejei knew the woman had nothing left, but he was still curious as to where she would go. It seemed he had a little debt left to pay her, and money and clothing might just be the answer.

He didn't say anything to her until her heard her question. Where was he going? Yes. He had a mission to complete. He was contract to kill someone which was unimportant for someone like Mia to know. It would only trouble her if he told her his profession and business.

"I'm heading nowhere for now. I can see that you are in need of clothing so here." He reached into a pouch beside the belt and produced several coins. "Take it. You might need it more than I do."

Mia looked at his money in his hand and she glanced back at him. "I don't want to take your money," she told him and shrugged. "Besides, you don't look like the type that gives to easily. You might want something in return and I have nothing to give."

She smirked slightly and turned to walk off. "Maybe I'll see you around sometime?" she asked, looking back. She was an exotic type of beauty, since her race was rare.

Bejei knew she wouldn't accept his offer the moment he proposed it, but it didn't hurt to do it. He figured she was the type of person who didn't want to accept debts which she couldn't pay. How noble of her? He was the exact opposite actually.

He watched her leave, and he turned in the opposite direction, continuing on his journey as well. He wouldn't forget their first encounter, and he knew he might see her again someday.

"Later..." He muttered under his breath as he marched onward.

"Do you expect to find her here?" a tall thin figure said to the man beside him.

"Yes, this is the last place the carnival was..." the other said bumping rudely into Bejei as they passed under the gates. "Mia will go wherever the carnival takes her... It was here last."

Mia had disappeared in the crowed of people, walking calmly by the shops and peering in. She was stopped at shop full of dresses looking in at the dress in the window. It was a pale blue, her favorite color. The trim was white lace. It was far to fancy for her, to much lace. She was a simple peron.

She continued on, the streets getting busier as she went on. In the distance, towards the back of the city she could see Sinead's palace. It was beautiful. She remembered many times she had gone there to preform for her magesty.

Bejei was not easdropping, but he heard two person conversing about someone and the carnival. They were rude enough to bump into him as well, but he held back his anger for it would force him to do things unimaginable, and with the bustling crowd, things could get complicated.

He continued forward, but he stopped since he could have sworn he heard the name Mia. Maybe, it was a different Mia from the one he just met. Afterall, it could be a common name.

He strolled out the gate and back into the forest. He had to search for his target in another town, and with little to no description of his subject, it could take longer than he thought.

Mia stopped at another store and looked in at the window. She was beginning to think that she needed to ask where the carnival was... She had no place to stay so she needed to be heading in that direction before she got stuck in the city with no place to sleep.

She was staring at the dress in the window when a nother reflection appeared behind her. It was of a tall thin white haired man with golden skin and pale blue eyes. He was wearing a white tunic shirt with black pants.

Mia froze, almost choking. Wasn't he supossed to be dead? "Keifer..." Mia whispered.

"Mia... its so nice to see you again..." he said, looking at her through the reflection.

Mia turned around and looked at him, her defiant expression comin back. She opened her mouth to speak but she felt a sharp sting on her face that nocked her head to the side. She blinked and looked back at him. "I told you... not to hit me ever again," she spat at him, her fist balling up.

She reared back and threw a punch, he caught it with a smile. "Thats alright," Mia said. "I have another." She planted her fist in his gut, doubling over. She tried to control her expression so it didn't seem like she was in too much pain, but it hurt so much it caused her to almost hit her knees.

Bejei made it back into the confines of the forest. It was a lovely view, and nature was always peaceful and comforting in his opinion. He walked underneath a tree before situating himself. It was time to ease his mind and rest his body.

"Finally... time." He whispered into the wind. "Rest and be one..."

He closed his eyes and crossed his legs over each other. He gradually began the process of meditating. It had been quite a while since the last time he did it, and it's about time he started up again.

"Breath..." He replied a little more quieter. He began to release the stress and tension from his body and forged his mind, body, and spirit into one.
