Lore: Cure for a Broken Heart

The city closest to the border. It is a city filled with traveling people and inns that hold many of the roughest people in Ighten. It's a good place to find weapons and an even better place to find trouble.

As always Yuuna was awake and cheerful. Yuuna opened the door and found Jayden standing there. Yuuna was fully dressed, her up in a bun. and her clothes completely clean and beautiful. "Of course" Yuuna said politely. "Is Layla up? I was just going to go downstairs for some breakfast. When you're ready I'll pay for something to eat and we'll go. That is, if you want to." Yuuna tilted her head a little when she said this as if to say 'please except'.

Yuuna shifted her bow and quiver of arrows, the broken one still at the bottom. Her bow was old and needed repair every year or so. Yuuna hated to travel alone, even though she could protect herself.

"Oh, sure. If you could just wait one minute, Layla is taking a bath. And yes, we'll gladly come with you. Layla begged me to say we could. She'll be so excited when I tell her we're going..but where ARE we going?"

Jayden looked behind her to see Layla standing there. She had been listening to there conversation and had a huge, bright smile on her face.

"We're going?" she said. "We're really going! Yes! This is going to be so much fun!"

"Well, for starters we are going to get some breakfast." Yuuna smiled as if she said a clever joke. "I have to go see a lady about my bow just outside of town. Then I have to go refill my vials such as picking herbs and flowers. Then I have to go to a clothes merchant, but not in that order." Yuuna stepped through the doorway and closed the door behind her. "You coming to breakfast now or later?" Yuuna said politely as she walked down the hall towards the stairs.

Layla grabbed her stomach as it started growling. "Umm...NOW!" she said grabbing Jayden. Jayden had no time to react. The girl had already pulled her down the stairs like there was no tomorrow.

'Damn, she must really be hungry' Jayden thought. She looked back at Yuuna and shrugged.

Yuuna laughed loudly as Layla passed her. "Wow, you really must be hungry!" Yuuna followed them downstairs and sat down at a table.

The Innkeeper walked over to the table and asked, "Is there anything I can get ye?"

Layla looked at the menu. She seemed to want everything! "What are you getting, Jayden?"

"I don't know! I've hardly even picked up my menu!"

"You're slow. Did you not wake up this morning?"

"Don't start."

"I haven't started anything!"

"You are now!"

"No, I'm not!"

Yuuna looked at the innkeeper and sighed. He winked back. "I'll just have fruit cheese and a little wine if you have it."

"Yep, anything for you miss, How about I tell the cook to whip up some pancakes for the little miss with someblue berries. How does that sound?" The Innkeeper smiled at the three. He was obviously trying to make peace between the two. "And some hot cocoa for the both of ya."

"Uh, sure," Jayden said. "How does that sound, Layla?"

"Um, yeah. Okay. Whatever. That's fine." She turned to look at Jayden again. "You're the one that started it."

"Okay, Layla. I'm sick of fighting with you."

Layla stuck her tongue out and put her mind to traveling with Yuuna. "When will we leave? After breakfast?"

"Layla, be patient."

She would have said something back, but she was also sick of fighting. So she said nothing and leaned back in her chair.

"Yes, after breakfast" Yuuna said as the Innkeeper rushed off to inform the cook.

"I think we will stop at the clothes Merchant first. I want to get you some other clothes." Yuuna did not want to seem rude but simply helpful. A few men and wemon were rushing around, one of the maids brought Yuuna a tray with fruit and cheese on it with a glass of wine also. Yuuna smiled at the woman as she sat down the tray and glass then scurried back to the kitchen.

Layla's face lit up when she smiled. "We're going shopping, too!? Oh, wow!" She punched Jayden's shoulder. "I told you this was a good idea."

Jayden rolled her eyes and punched her back playfully.

Yuuna nodded. The innkeeper came back with mugs of rich hot chocolate and set it before Layla and Jayden. "Hope you enjoy it." He said cheerfully.

Two young men came from the kitchen came out carrying pancakes with blueberries on the top. The plates were set down infront of the girls. "Bacon is avalible if you want it." One of the men said to Jayden.

"No, thank you. This is fine."

"I'll take bacon!" Layla said with a mouth full of food.

"Layla, you're 13 years old. Start acting it."

"Oh, shut up."

Jayden turned to Yuuna and said, "I hope you don't mind doing all this."

"Of course not!" Yuuna replied. She started in her food slicing the cheese and fruit then picking up both with her fork and ate it.

The young man nodded to Layla and disapeared into the kitchen. When he reapeared he carried a small plate with a 5 or 6 slices of thick, crispy bacon and set it by her pancakes. He disapeared after glancing at Yuuna and Layla again.

Jayden started eating her pancakes and noticed that Layla was almost through.

'Jeez, she acts like she's never going to eat again!' she thought.

Layla crammed two pieces of bacon into her mouth at one time while she still had a mouth full of pancakes.

"Well," Jayden said, "I think Layla is enjoying herself."

Yuuna looked up to take a sip of wine. She swallowed what she had in her mouth and said, "I guess so, she seemes quite hungry." Yuuna took a few sips of the wine, she did not drink much, but she never drank water until it had been boiled and cooled. Though she liked the taste of wine especially when it has been made with all fresh grapes.

Yuuna had 3 or 4 slices of fruit and cheese on her plate. She almost never ate meat, she did not even like to kill animals or people. She was raised to heal not to kill.
