Hardly Serenity
Damien laughed mockingly then stood up. He propped Mi's head softly against the hard wall. "Oh, I don't know," He looked around. "I don't have much... what would you like?"
The bald man licked his lips and turned his attention to Mi. "How about her?" he asked, raising his eyes back up to the fire casting wizard.
Damien looked down at the lifeless form of Mi. He didn't fear in losing to these two. "Fine..." he finally answered. His eyes looked around the room then returned to the scraggy men. "And what do I get if I win?"

The bald man's eyes lingered on the prize that he was sure to win. Oh, how long it had been. His attention redirected itself back to Damien. He looked around and laughed. "As you can see," he said holding out his arms to his sides, gesturing to his surroundings. "I haven't much."
He put a hand to his scarred chest. "All I have is my name and my life."
"Aye!" the bearded fellow said. "You don't own much in a place like this. I'll wager my life, for the girl as well..."
Mi shifted slightly, blinking her weak eyes open to look around. She sat slupped against the wall, her head leaning into a crook of the wall. Her silk nightgown hung losely against her form. The slit up the side exposing her long well toned leg and hip.

Damien nodded. "That sounds like a deal," Damien extended a hand for the man to shake. The bald guy grabbed his hand and the bearded man laughed with splendor.
The man tightened his grip and looked hard into Damien's eyes. "You just signed your death warrant." He snatched and slung Damien into the opposite wall. Damien fell to a knee.
The fire mage turned his eyes back to his foes. He wiped a drip of blood from his lips then spat. "So you have some strength." he stated pulling himself to his feet.
"You ain't seen nothing yet," the bearded man just watched from behind his friend.

The bald man turned his head to the side, causing a small number of cracks to echoe through the room as his neck popped. Then he popped his nuckles as his friend moved around in front of him.
The bearded man slung his hand forward, as if he were back-handing someone, and lightening slung forward in bolts, heading for Airen. "I'll love entertaining your woman in the time she spends here. My name is Trydent, so you'll know your destroyer."
The bald man laughed, "And they call me Thorn."

Damien dodged to the left and quickly found his feet. "That's a nice trick you have there." Damien's eyes flickered and flashed. "But I'm afraid it's a little weak."
He slung his arms to his side and his hands caught ablaze. Three massive balls of fire struck each of the men simultaneously. "Come on," Damien said as the two assailants regained their balance.
Thorn's laugh rumbled the walls as he went to one knee, striking the ground with his fist. The earth fissured toward Damien. Damien leaped to avoid the cracking ground but lost his footing as he landed.
As the fire wielder's hands touched the ground, smoke rose from the ruptured floor. Damien laughed maliciously. Lava rose from the dark depths of the crack that Thorn had made. The bald man and Trydent stared at the fiery liquid for a moment.

Trydent, the name, like his power inflicted a sense of cold electricity. … a brutal power. His gingers flicked across his temple as his brain raced to come up with a plan. A mastermind of a plan. A method to defeat a fire mage and win the prize so desired by all who watched. His brother thorn was charging the opponent as Trydent contemplated this method. Finally, upon reaching the decision he opened his arms as if to hug the air itself. His fingertips crackled and popped with the sound of electricity as it coursed through his veins and out through his fingertips like ten spiraling electric ropes. It wound its insidious way around Damien, contracting like a python. Squeezing with painful intensity.
Thorn roared like a giant beast as he dodged away. Before it had looked as if he wanted to tackle Damien, now it was as if he were dumb enough to run into the wall. His fist hit hard, punching the rough cut wall, creating a hole to his elbow. The crack went up to the ceiling. Stones, pebbles, boulders began to fall from the ceiling, one exceedingly large one spiraling down towards Damien as Trydent held him in place with his electric ropes.

Damien laughed as the sparking serpents contracted around his torso. The walls and ceiling crumbling around him. Mi was no longer on his thoughts, and he could feel his own luscious power running through him. His eyes glinted with a fiery loathing.
The lava sprung from the broken earth and surrounded its master in a protective cocoon. The massive boulder melted as it hit the barrier. Trydent's electric hold breaking at the wall of fire.
"Ase welaka!" Damien said. His voice cold and dark. The cataclysmic wave of orange liquid contracted and conformed into a giant serpent. It's eyes as gold embers. The fiery dragon roared ferociously, revealing a mouth of razor sharp teeth. The glowing beast stood beside Damien with its wings spread wide arching its head around and staring at the enemy before them.

Thorn and Trydent stepped back urgently as the fiery beast looked at them with deadly intent. The glanced at eachother, wondering what could be done. Obviously this man was more powerful than they.
"Nice trick," Thorn said. "I'm guessing you wouldn't happen to be interested in a stailmate, would you?" he asked.
Trydent folded his arms. "I'm not interested in getting melted," he said. "I'm dumb, but not dumb enough to get myself killed for a lay."

Damien smiled despite the continuous drain on his energy. He couldn't show weakness. The dragon surprised even him, though he had summoned it before it was nothing compared to this. It was coming increasingly easier, however, to do the things he wished. The power drained him but nothing as it had before.
Damien muttered a few words and the serpent vanished back beneath the ground. "Y'all have made a wise choice." He looked at me and then back to the two men. "Now if you two would leave me alone for a moment and allow me my rest." He sat back down beside Mi. "I'll find you when it's time to go."
Some of the other men started to wake from the blast Mi had caused. Thorn and Trydent bowed respectfully then went on their way. Damien inclined his head on the wall behind his head.

Mi blinked her eyes raising her head to see all the men staring at them warily. "So... what did I miss?" she asked, yawning slightly as she pulled one of legs up and propped her arm up on her knee.
"What are they staring at you like that for?" she asked, a little confused by the dumbfounded expressions.

Damien smirked then explained what had just happened. He didn't mention that he had wagered her as part of the bargain. The last thing he needed was her scolding him.
"...And now we have us a couple of worthy servants," he concluded. The men scratched their heads and finally lost interest and starting arguing and fussing amongst themselves about what me had done to them.

Mi looked up the whole at the people looking down, trying to see into the darkness to see what was happening down below. "So... How are we going to break out of jail?"
"You can't break out, pretty. Its impossible," he said.
"Nothing is impossible... Well, maybe for you pathetic lifeforms," she said as she pushed through the crowed looking down a hall lit by glowing mushrooms. "How quaint."
"So.... pretty... whatcha thinkin of breakin' out with."
