Hardly Serenity
The stairs leading down to the duneon were long and trecherous. The winding staircase hugged the wall, the other side a cliff. Finally they reached the bottom. At the bottom was a large hole. The sound of muttering, screaming... It filtered up, echoing off the walls...
"Ma'am, I'm afraid you'll have to go in with your friend... the women are sent to the Slave Shop and your too dangerous to go there... I have to tell you... Some of the men down there haven't seen a woman in 20 years...."
He stepped up behind her and looked down. "Have fun," he said. He kicked her in the back and sent her over the edge. She hadn't expected it, but didn't let out a sound. She she landed on her side in the dirt. The sound of silence took the air. She looked around and saw shadows moving in the darkness. Grunting. She moved to her knees, burning the ropes off of her wrists.
Suddenly she was swarmed over, a roar of excitement filled the air. They grabbed her and began to drag her off. Several let go immediatly as her body scortched their hands. Others took over... Afterall there was nearly a thousand mentally ill, and just regular old criminals in the pit.

The man went to kick Damien into the pit, but was stopped short. "Don't do that," he warned and a glint of flame flickered in his eyes. The man stared at Damien with a hint of fear. He nodded urging him to jump down on his own. Damien leaped down burning the straps loose from his hands. He landed and on his feet, but had to balance himself with his hands on the cold damp floor.
The guard spat at Damien, then turned and walked off. "A Lash ataeka!!" Damien screamed and the dungeon lit from some hidden flame. The glow seemed to be coming from Damien. The disgruntled men shielded their eyes from the blinding light.

Mi jerked and kicked, not looking the least bit paniced at the moment as she was being carried down a long tunnel, further into the ground. How many were their? They had to be crazy. They were holding her, and she was burning them. She couldn't heat her body too much, it would burn her clothes away.... and she couldn't have that.
"Crazy bastards! Let me go, or perish a painful death!"
"We'll die down here anyway bitch, getting a piece of you will be well worth it!"
"YEAH!" It seemed a hundred screamed.
"Great idea... Getting arrested... Wonderful!"

Damien stared through the horde of deranged men, but didn't see Mi anywhere. He saw a burst of flame, and agonizing screams soon followed. "There you are," he said as he walked forward scattering the men as he approached them.
It was steaming all around him, as the heat reached the cool floor. He figured it wasn't the heat that kept them away, but the bright light that illuminated from him.
"Mi," he yelled. His voice sounded explosive in the dark caverns.

Mi knew that if these people were crazy enough to get burned to death then they probably would not leave her alone. There was only one thing, and she personally hated to risk it... However, it would save them from killing everyone. Not that it was a problem.
Alright, this is going to hurt you more than it will hurt me...
She stopped struggling and suddenly the men around her began to scream. There flesh pealing off, there bone exposed The men within five feet of her turned to dust. The ones ten feet away had there hair melted from them, there skin turned red as if sunburned. They fainted from the heat. Anyone affected by heat with in fifty feet fanted from the same effects. It took all of Mi's energy to remain standing.
She took several deep breaths, stumbling over the bodies around her. She saw Damien in the distance, glowing almost.
She did not notice the small drip of blood falling from her nose. A spell that large took all her energy. She felt her knees begin to buckle... and as she reached his side her body collapsed.

Damien fell against the wall as she landed lifelessly in his arms. He held her off the wet floor and tried to give her a little comfort. Something he did very rarely, but he couldn't help but feel protective and worried of the weakened Mi.
"Are you alright?" he asked, softly pushing her hair from her face. Her nose bled and she seemed so vulnerable.
The men stood around in utter shock. They didn't dare mess with the two now.

Mi blinked tiredly. "I.. I had to get them off someway. Shit, I hate when this happens. Its a weakening spell.... It knocks the enemy out if you are in a dire situation..." She took a ragged breath. "Your body weakens because of the range... and you have limited time before you hit the ground."
Mi's head rolled to the side as she almost lost consciousness.

Damien smiled, "You did great," he kissed her on the brow and stood up to face the approaching men.
"Stop," Damien's voice thundered through the cavernous pit. He raised his hand and a wall of flame separated he and Mi from the rest.
He stepped through the fire and the men faltered back slightly. Damien's eyes blazed. "Now unless you want to end up like the rest, I'd suggest you pay attention you wretched fools."

The fire blazed hotter as the men approached it, scorching their skin. Some even flung themselves into the fiery barrier, killing themselves brainlessly.
These aren't soldiers, he thought. "Y'all sicken me!" The fire rushed from behind him, knocking the rest of the men to the floor. The endless screams filled the air. Damien could feel the power draining him and he quickly stopped his efforts. The ones that had survived wouldn't be bothering them for a while.
Damien eased over and sat against the wall, resting Mi's head across his chest. Though the power drained his energy, it left a sensation in his body like no other.

The sound of laughter came from down a tunnel as a broad shouldered bald man came walking out. He had a sar over his eye that stretched down the length of his face. The eye that the scar was over was pale blue, while his other eye was a deep brown. He had tatoos all over his shirtless body and his pants were tattered.
"Nice show," he said, popping his nuckles.
"I've seen better." One behind him said, a bearded man with long black hair pulled into a pony tail.

Damien dropped his head with a sigh of soft laughter. "I'm sure y'all could do better, too?" he turned his blazing eyes up to the men. Mi still laid across his chest.
"Oh I think we can," said the bald man. He tilted his head and his neck cracked and popped. The dark haired man's eyes flickered with a cold light.
"Ah," Damien mused. "You must have skill... And what about your friend?" he turned his gaze back to the bald man.
"You're gonna see what kinda skill...," he said.
"Is that a challenge?" Damien interrupted. He didn't care how weak he was at the moment. He wouldn't turn away from a challenger. However, he did need to make a wager with them. They would make great servants after all.

"Aye," the balled man said as he folded his arms across his broad shirtless chest. "It is a challenge, if you think you can handle it, little man." He said, looking down at Damien from his abnormally tall stature. He ran a hand down his scar, that stretched the length of his face, curling slightly under his chin. Scars littered his body, a sign of a hard life, a sign of many battles. A sign that he had survived much worst than prison.
However, one would have to think why the Witch Queen would put such people in prison. Though, it was safe to say she probably did not know who was in her prisons... The corrupt bureaucracy of the kingdom dictates that if you happen to make anyone with a little bit of power angery, you can disappear for quite a while. That means if you owe money, killed a family member, or tripped them by accident, you might find yourself in a deep dark hole for a very long while.
"But, the if we win... We want something in return," he said calmly, not a sign of worry in his voice. "What are you willing to loose?" The bearded man behind him laughed maniacally. Both thought, or rather knew, that they surely could beat his fire mage.
