Mizuki laughed even more and moved forward so she wouldn't fall. She looked back to the man and told him to come on. "We get get you some medical attention back at the school." With the others Mothers and their grils, Mizuki took Rai by the hand and lead the group back to the meeting place near the school.

Sid shrugged and followed along with the cheerful band of girls until they got back to the schoolhouse. When they got there, the men's team had all returned except for two.
"Rats, we lose," one of the men laughed good-naturedly as his wife stuck her tongue out at him. "One of the boys in our group got upset and ran off. Nightblade went back to get him."
"Maybe he's actually very good with kids? That boy hasn't spoken to anyone else," someone else said.
"Heh, his bite may be worse than his bark," another acknowledged. Of course, Soran wasn't around to eavesdrop now that they'd begun to change their opinions.
"Let's see your list and all your items," the headmaster said, cheerful about how well the activity seemed to have worked.

Concern form on Mizuki's face. She wanted to know what Soran was doing. Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, Mizuki handed over their list and told some of the girls and Rai who had the items to present them to the headmaster.
"This man here is wounded," she told the headmaster before he turned back around. The headmaster looked curiously at Sid before nodding and asking some of the mothers to get the medical supplies from inside the school in his office. "You'll be taken care of," she told the man with a charming smile. What she really wanted to do was find Soran and the boy, but she couldn't just leave Rai...

Soran ran through the town streets where he thought Sam had gone until he finally spotted the kid crouched in an alley, sniffling to himself.
Soran walked up to the kid and knelt in front of him. "It'll be hard to finish the mission if you run off," the rogue said flatly.
"It's a stupid mission." the boy pouted.
"That doesn't mean you have the right to abandon it, when it depends on you for its success," Soran said.
"The boy stopped sniffling, as if this logic struck home. "Everyone else's dad is here," he said quietly.
"That's not true. Jerem's father isn't here," Soran corrected rationally.
"No one likes Jerem. Not even his parents."
"Then you be the first," the elf asserted, sounding almost defensive for the boy in question. He had been that boy in the past. "Come on."
Sam stood up, grabbing onto Soran's hand. "I'm sorry. I don't think we can make it in time."
"Neither do I."
"Can you carry me?"
Soran rolled his eyes and lifted the kid up on his arm. "Let's go." He ran back with the boy on his shoulders until they reached the schoolhouse. Sure enough, the girls were there already. "Go talk to Jerem. It's your mission. No one else will do it for you," Soran whispered to the kid as he set him down, and scanned the crowd for Mizuki. He soon spotted her next to a man who was sitting down, while Mizuki and another woman treated some sort of wound on his leg. The rogue walked toward them curiously.

They were just applying the bandage when Mizuki heard Soran come up. Stopping her progress, she stood up and waved happily to him and tried to resist the urge to run up to him and hug him.
Oh... what the heck!
She ran up to him and practically jumped into his arms. Many people gave them some approving applause and started to chuckled to themselves. the woman still with Sid giggled to herself and said something about young love before finishing and patting Sid's back.
"There' you go sir," she said to him with a smile.

Soran caught Mizuki somewhat ungracefully, tumbling a step backward as he managed to hold her up without dislodging Rai from her perch. "It seems I've been bested by a tribe of women," he laughed quietly, earning a few giggles from the other girls. His small smile was awkward, but real as he gave Mizukis slender frame a squeeze.
Sid couldn't see past all the people from where he was on the ground. "Hmf, not used to being short," he grumbled as this newcomer, whoever he was, apparently took the wind out of the sails of all the attention he was getting. He tested the bandage thoughtfully, not getting up just yet. "Who's that over there?" he asked a woman standing next to him.
"That's Nightblade. You might call him the village rogue," she answered, as if she wasn't on close enough terms to risk using his first name.
"Or the village's newest family man," smirked her husband as he stared in astonishment at the scene with Soran, Mizuki and Rai.
