Lore: Threads of Fate
{My turn, my turn!!! Yippi...}
Keeping a wary eye on the stupid, silly boy, Rosada also paid close attention to the fight; boring as it was. And though she had heard Vixen's command, she seriously doubted that Kyli was asleep. There was just no way such a beast would be caught napping at a time like this, 'mother's' command or no.
As they continued to circle each, neither striking the first blow, Rosada was beginning to come to the conclusion that this would be a draw... Perhaps she would take a nap with the panther.
Then again.... Rosada turned as she heard the unmistakable sounds of a crowd--or more specifically, a mob.
Even the boys shuffled a little uncertainly, as if he had heard something.
"Dang it, you were followed, weren't you?!" she scolded Paul. The two women's fight will have to wait... if they wanted them all to live, anyway.
{Haha, I interrupted your fight. Likey my colors? I do.}

(You know, I'm not sure whether to be mad for interrupting a perfectly lame fight (=P) or shouting for joy at the thickening of the plot...
Can we finally kill the villagers now?)

Trapped. Sera huffed. It was just one thing after another. And all because of that--that kid.
She hissed as the mark defiling the back of her neck dug it's claws in, whispering of untold power to be unleashed through her finger tips. In a blinding moment, Sera's hand went to her neck, covering her mark as if it shut it up. She fell to a knee, her plam pressed flat unto the ground. As if being drawn from her body and down to her hand, a circled blast of ice fanned out from her hand, skimming low to the ground and frosting it lightly. As the blast reached the mob of villagers, it crept up their bodies until they became solid polished ice statues.
Sera watched as if from distant eyes as it happened. She cursed. The mark didn't even try to tempt her as it usually did; it simply took over. There was barely enough room for thought before her eyes glazed and her body crumbled. Her world fading to black....again.
(Goddess, that was painful. Sudden writer's block. Forgive me for the suckage. >.<)

"Ah damnit!" Paul swore. He pretty much forgot about about the others, the last thing he saw was Sunshine's mouth moving, saying something about how he should stay... Paul rushed out of the grove, greeted by the warm and friendly faces of the Ishtass. What the hell was I doing!? Paul collapsed to the ground and screamed, "AAAHHH!!! IT's MADNESS IN THERE!!! RUUUUNNNNN!!!!" Paul started acting up on the ground as if possessed. "Wii wunt fol fer tha again!" The mob leader said.
[YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS FOR TYPING LIKE AN ISHTASS!?]
"Well, in that case..." Paul stood up with what energy he had left, he raised his fists and took a stance, training from boyhood, "Bring it!" They all charged for him like a speeding <name a creature native to Heirot that is as tough and fast as an Elephant>. Paul fended them all, like he said, killing is useless without the bounty... He saw the Panther, its mistress and Sunshine pop out from the grove.
Paul ducked in time from a slash of an axe... Axe? They have weapons? Great! Paul thought, he rose up and gutted one of them with a nice and strong punch.
A strong gust of cold wind, Paul shivered and closed his eyes, trying to recover, trying to keep himself warm with what little energy he had left for a little fire within. He looked up to the mob, they were now covered in frost... NO, they were frozen. Paul looked back, Ice Mage...

[PS. I don't know if I included this in the bio or the one before, but Paul has a slightly increased strength than normal beings]

{Ha, even you admit it was getting boring.... No, we can't kill the villiagers, but I vote we murder Paul... Or at least, beat him to a bloody pulp...No offense Asikinari...}

"'May our paths cross again'?!" exclaimed Rosada, disgust edging her voice. "Really, I'd realy we just travel paths that led away from Mr. Idiot over there."
And with the Ice Mage apparently losing control of her powers and attempting to freeze everyone, Pyra was losing her temper. "Be calm, li chrims," Rosada attempted to sooth her, but it was hopeless; her red dragon did have a fire temper, after all.
Deciding to help the tempermental draki before she got them both killed--and perhaps all the people in the clearing--Rosada harnessed her Magic. Oh, this going to be fun, afterwards, she thought.
Concentrating on using her fire, even as Pyra began sprouting flames out of her muzzle, Rosada focused on keeping the the four people and one pather from freezing alone with the rest. Okay, so maybe she didn't have to with the Ice Mage, but it could make her wake up a little and gain more control over her retched powers.
Heat seept over the groove of trees like a fog, drugging the people there; those not already frozen seemed to get incredibly sleeply, despite the intial fear of the dragon's flame. And the flame that therefore had caught onto the trees.
"Pyra..." Rosada groaned, but, resigned, set to move the travelers out of the groove. Chanting under her breath, she gathered the forces of nature, grabbed the four humans, one panther, and one little red dragon, and... pulled.
What with the way her powers work, Rosada knew she couldn't move them far; but they need not be far away, just away from the fire.
{I don't care where they end up, like five feet away, or wherever Sera was leading them, but Rosada collapses, and Pyra is still angry [just so you know].}

Great, she barely noticed the faint whispering in her head. Our..."hands"...are out of order, it seems.
Don't be such a shrew, Kien. You know full well what just transpired.
Yes. It's beginning to act up again. It barely even tempted her this time; it just...did.
Exactly. So how are we going to deal with this matter? In this current state we simply can't bind it again.
Perhaps we can use the others...
Brilliant! All we have to do it ask them to...oh yes, I almost forgot--We can't speak!
There seems to be one, you senile old buffoon, that can at least sense us. We very well could be able to reach her.
All right. You do that and I'll take a trip into lovely Sera's mind. Maybe there I can dislodge the extra ground the mark has been able to achieve today.
She heard..no- felt Kien sigh. What did we ever do to become guardians? Distasteful living, I think.
We all know what you think, Kien. Do your job and I'll do mine...

(I feel like something's missing here, but eh. Can't think of anything else. And, no, sorry, Paul is mine. We've talked about this. *Mischievious grin* We can at least get away from the blood villagers. I'm already tired of them.)

Rosada touched the ground hard, and tried to make the others' landings less painful; she didn't think she succedded very much. Appearing out of thin air is a lot more difficult than people would think. Even as she looked around blearily, taking in nothing, she only had time to think, Oh, great, away from the fire, at least. And now comes on the darkness, before unconsciousness overtook her.
All the other grounded beings seemed either passed out, or still recovering. Pyra, on the other hand, was quite capable of vocalizing her compliants--and expressing her opinion.
Flapping her wings irritably, she flew around for a bit, then she swooped down on Paul, who was still dizzily recovering on the ground. He didn't even noticed the small dragon until Pyra shot a stream of flames at him.

(I would post also, but there's hardly anything for me to go off of. Sera's still out cold and the swords still have a little to go before they even begin to make notice...I say we hold a peprally, or something....
Never thought I'd say that *sweatdrop*, but desperate times, call for desperate measures.)

"Gah!" The little dragon blew a flame at Paul, catching him by surprise. It didn't hurt him, but everytime it did, it gave him a very weird sensation which Paul hasnt quite gotten used to. "What the hell is your problem!?" Paul cursed angrily at the little thing. He looked around, confused. Everyone... unconscious. Well, at least... everyone, Paul thought.
THe little drake swooped down again on Paul, this time, Paul dodged it, rolling to the side and bumping into Sunshine. Paul grunted and shoved her, just for the fun of it. Paul looked around once more, he noticed the newcomer, the one with the pet Panther, staring at the unconscious Songstress. "Can't you do something with that?" Paul pointed at the drake. She shrugged, looks like that meant I'll try. Paul thought.
He moved to Sunshine again, and set her straight and picked her up and slumped her around his shoulders. Something he usually did on the battlefield, saving his injured comrades. Been a while since he had done something like this. "Man, you really need to lose some weight," Paul murmured, hoping both that she did, or didn't, hear that.

As if hearing his comment about her weight, Sera shifted on his shoulders. She leaned her weight away from him and a sleepy hand found it's way over his eyes, pulling his head back, and effectively pulling him off balance. Her back hit the ground first, quite hard, and the force of falling tumbled Paul over her, sending him rolling away from her a couple of feet.
Grunting from the two jolts, her eyes flew open for a moment before she rolled over onto her side "Lose a few pounds yourself." she mumbled, yawning.
Ah ha! A break through! Closing her eyes again, Sera's mind slipped back into black. Well, damn....

Being thrown into consciousness hurt. Or at least it did when one had a splitting headache, a panicked dragon scretching in her ear, and was apparently being moved into a position to be carried.
"Urgh," she muttered as she was yanked into a sitting poistion.
"Oh, your awake," Vixen grumbled. She eased back and knelt beside the Healer.
"Now I am," responded Rosada, rubbing her head. "That hurt."
"What, all I did was help you to sit?!"
"And the movement hurt," Rosada repeated. "Where are we?"
"You don't know?!"
"Ah, no, too busy pulling people out of burning grooves to think about it."
"Mount Ma'em." "Oh."

Asikinari growled under his breath as he stood up once again, rubbing his forehead. "This is what I get for being nice." Paul said to himself. He took Sunshine by the arm and started dragging her over to the Songstress, who appeared to be somewhat conscious... The Panther and what appears to be its mistress. "I dont live far from here. It seems we all need a place to rest for a while." He informed the others. He let go of Sunshine's arm. "Im not carrying her anymore." Paul said, crossing his arms. Eyeing the mistress who walked over to Sunshine.
(Sorry it's taken me this long to post today. I had a hecktic afternoon with work stuff and then I had to go check out a Fencing group at Parks and Rec.

The chattering continued within Sera's mind; the sound of it felt almost like sand grating against an open wound...
All right, Rien, you've tried to break her free and you've failed. Now help me with the Dragon-Holder.
I still have a chance. I broke through once, I can surely do it again.
Once is little progress, my dear.
You forget, my dear, that in our form of work, once is more than a little.
We used to be the most powerful Mages in all of Arken and here we are reduced to freeing a wretch's mind and calling for help to a-- Dragon-Holder of all people. This is your fault for inciting the Witch Queen's wrath!
This is no time to play the blame game. Focus on the Holder, I'll focus on Sera.
Know that when I am free of this form...
Yes yes, we all know already. You'll "turn me into a rug, take the throne from the Witch Queen, and destroy all impudent fools--our 'hands' most of all". As always...Good luck with that.
