Lore: Threads of Fate

The only known village for the Ishtassy people. These people are very skilled in fighting in the dark art style. They have grown up feeling hatred and loathing for any one but their own kind and only follow the Witch Queen because she is the only one they truly fear.

Rosada reluctantly opened her eyes. At least, whenever I do a healing, I regain my mind quickly, she thought in a huff. Otherwise, she felt, she would not do as much as she did.

Sitting up, she absenlty petting Pyra, soothing and reassuring her, even as she looked around for the disastrous duo. Seeing the Ice Mage--for like recognizes like, and Rosada was... unfortunate in having met several Ice Mages--and seeing no sign of the boy, she concluded the Idiot had gone running off to the village--or somewhere else.

"Stupid, stupid boy," she muttered under breath as she got up. At Pyra's hiss, Rosada rolled her eyes, but added, "Stupid, stupid Healer, for trusting him, and his non-existent common sense."

Pyra gave a curt nod. "Ver-a ssstupid," she agreed. Though she had spoken the human language from the moment she was hatched, she still had the lisp, due to her forked tongue and her long fangs (top and bottom). It always annoyed her to no end.

Scooping up Pyra as she went, Rosada walked over to Ice Mage.

"And now what do we do?" she asked, wonderingly, gazing at the village. Just then, she felt the slight tremble as the earth moved and shifted.

"This is useless" Paul told himself. It was impossible to find anything on the ground if it was so dark. Paul created a single wisp of flame. "Agh" Paul collapsed but caught himself in an instant. He had spent too much of his energy running around and using up most of his energy for these spiteful villagers. Paul took a moment to catch his breath, at least the wisp was there. He scanned the ground as he took in deep breath. "Where is it!" Paul said through gritted teeth. The wisp of flame subsided and once again the alley, and Paul, were cloaked in darkness.[/img]

At the word from the Petite, Sera glanced over her shoulder once more. "We wait," she answered. "He went in of his own accord; he will either die or live."

Turning back to the dark buildings, she smirked. He was most likely looking for his armband. He won't find it in there. She mused as she fondled the leather armband of his lineage wrapped about her ankle.

"Was it you who...healed me, Petite?" She asked with a little more humbleness present in her voice then she had wanted.

"There is no 'Petite' around here, as far as I know. But I healed you. My name is Rosada, Pyra is the name of my companion here. What is your name?" responded Rosada. She was thus short for, first, the Ice-Mage's first comment to Pyra, and second, for her attitude of dealing with the boy.

"Sera." she answered a little sourly. She hated giving out her name, but she had healed her. She deserved something of her own as payment. "and...thank you." She bit out.

Like she had been doing to the village earlier, she studied the small woman. The woman did nothing to hide her true thoughts about things; it was clear within her speech and body. "You have a problem with me." she stated, eyeing the woman who was gently petting the mutation under the chin. Was that thing...purring?

Noticing the statement form and not the question form, Rosada grinned, then shrugged. "I know I am as clear as crystal, my thoughts nearly as at hand as the words on a book. And since I do not lie, even to those who truly deserve, yes, I distest you. But it's not personal, you know. I simply dislike the overall personality of Mercenaries--and Ice Mages," she added pointedly.

At Pyra's movement, Rosada stopped petting and helped the draki (her nickname for small dragon) onto her shoulder. Settingly onto the rightside, the dragon's tail curled around and rested companionably on the left.

Thus, Sera had two pairs of eyes staring at her intently, one black, the other a blazing gold. And the Healer's hands were clasped in front her, her stance neglinent. And almost... peaceful.

Reaching out and wrapping a hand loosely around her sword hilt, Sera stood, completely turning to the Petite woman. She let out a puff of breath, directing it upwards, and successfully blew the strand of hair that had fallen into her sight range back with the others crowning her head.

"Well, isn't that just beneficial to you that I happen to be both." she smirked, bringing the tip of her sword to her lips and gently biting on it. She nearly laughed as it began radiating irritation. Kien always hated it when she did that to her; Rien, on the other hand, would have loved it. Ah, the workings of male swords. Sera's eyes glittered with amusement as the mutation perched on the woman's shoulder scoffed at not only her tone, but her stance also. "Drakeling, I assume?"

It leveled her with a glare, obviously annoyed further, and this time she did let out a small chuckle. It was soft enough the woman and her "pet" couldn't comprehend, but loud enough to get Rien radiating with laughter. Kien had always annoyed her to no end, but Rien she enjoyed. She enjoyed him so much, she almost wished he wasn't cursed as a sword.

And then again, Paul moved along the crowded village, pretending to be one of the most fowlest of beings in the world. Paul walked in a crowd, wearing a cloak with a nice hood he had beaten out from a passerby. Paul made his way to the tavern as the crowd passed by it. His previous encounter with it definitely was something to remember... The tavern was a wreck. The holes from the pillars he had created, although the pillars were now gone and a few bits of embers from the tables he had burnt were there like a work of art. The bartended was there, behind the counter, frustrated and cleaning up. "Wha' ye wont? Me bars cloosed."
"Ye, I see Zhat" Paul countered with a heavy accent. "Crazhee kid Reckkid me tavurn"
Paul held back a smile and turned it into a frown. "Em lookin' fer ain armband. Ye see eeny fink like dat heer? Bloo wid a..." Paul sighed, if he spoke with that accent any longer he'd go crazy. He took off the hood and looked at the bartender straight in the eyes. "Alright, yeah, it's the crazy kid who singed your shop. And if you don't shut up, I'll... burn more than just your precious little tavern here." Paul said.
The bartended showed alot of hatred, fortunately, he didn't have a weapon, and good for him too... He was spared. The bartender said he had found one but someone took it. Paul thanked him and tied him up with a nice gag.

Aburptly, Rosada focused on the swords. Slipping into a light trace, she saw the curse that had been placed upon them. Hmmm, she mused thoughtfully. It appears I am not the only who travels with companions.

Glancing up, she saw that Sera had caught her look and was observing her narrowedly. Smiling ironically--how she did hate her inability to hide her thoughts--she said, "I know that you did not do such work. For one, you specialities lie elsewhere; for another, the signature does not suit you. Where did you get such... beings?" she inquired.

From look upon the Mercernary's face, she did not believe she would get answer; in fact, Rosada thought she just might be getting a blade in the body.

When she noticed the woman's eyes go distant and felt her power gently probing around her swords, Sera lowered Kien, leveling the small woman with a narrow gaze. She didn't much appreciate a stranger inspecting her swords; even if she had saved her life. Nor did her swords appreciate it much either seeing as both Kien and Rien were now radiating with irritation and bloodlust. The thought to oblige them crossed her mind.

When the woman spoke, inquiring as to how the two had fallen into her possession, Sera allowed her icy armor fall into place around her mentality. Inadvertantly the temperature lowered along with her mood. "How I came to possess them is mine to know; how they came to be what they are, is only theirs to tell. Though I doubt you'd be able to understand."

Kien, being the more bitter and female sword, was already screaming for Sera to just cut the woman in half. Rien's feelings on the situation, as always, were more to her liking: Play now, destroy later.

Paul caught up to the crowd, leaving the tavern behind. "The outssideer haz a bloo armband!" Paul cried out. Everyone started looking at each others arms, just the reaction he had expected. If there were to be an armband found on anyone, that would help... None... Paul decided to slip out of the angry mob before they started looking for the person who said it.

I'll be back... just have to excuse myself from the two... Paul thought. He'd come back to the village later.

"You know," Rosada said to Pyra, quietly, "I don't think her swords like me." Even as Pyra hissed in agreement, Sera spoke.

"Whatever would make you think that?" she demanded, suspicious.

Startled, then resigned--I should have known that she had superior hearing--Rosada reluctantly replied, "Well, their magical aura is glaring a bright red, for one thing; another, I seem to feel a bit edgy with them out and and about. 'Tis all." Rosada shrugged, now feinting ease. Those were of evil magic, however much the victims had or had not deserved their sentence.

"Oh," Rosada added thoughtfully, "And I think I would understand the magics, or the basics at least. Probably more than you, anyway," she had to add it in a loftly tone; needling the woman--though very suicidal--was just as... irresistable.

Suddenly a sound behind the two made them spin around; the woman there had deliberately made it, and now stood, blade out and at the ready. Immediately, Sera also went into a fighting stance. Rosada, having just recovered from a healing, was not very eager to fight; however, upon hearing a russling to her left, behind more trees, and seeing the branded black panther, she decided to gather her magic, just in case.

"Rosada," she said graciously. Ignoring Sera's sound of disapproval, she went foward--very cautiously, and clutching Pyra firmly around her neck--she gestured to the woman.

"You can lower your sword, even as you tell us your name," she suggested. Her expression hinted at amusement--and mockery. This woman was no threat; to Rosada that was obvious. But then, perhaps it is only to Rosada, and Pyra, that she was harmless; in fact, Rosada was certain that, if Sera did not calm down, a dual will take place. And an interesting event that would be to see, she thought. She edged slightly more to the protection of the trees. Then she looked at the new woman, waiting for a reply to her question.

(Just for future reference: No touchie my character!

"Whatever would make you think that?" she demanded, suspicious. <---Touchie my character. No, no. Actions I can handle some, but dialog is an absolute bad. I don't mean to sound demanding or anything, it's just a habit from old boards. Please and thank you. ^.^)

"You speak entirely too much," Sera addressed the newcomer. Her mood was already irritated from the series of events leading up to this point and now this newcomer had waltzed in, speaking dead languages, a bit too comfortable in their presence. She was beginning to get down-right fed up. All the strangers appearing out of no-where in rapid succession, all the "who are you?"s in a never ending string, and all the confidence of the others. What had happened to the fear and awe she had once incited in passerbies? She was noted as a possible threat by the Witch Queen herself, even called upon by her in the past to relieve a few rivals; yet here were three who found her ill humor and cold stature no less threatening than a flower.

True, one had seen a small exhibit of her power and had intimidated ever so much, but this...Rosada was a little too prudent (<---Used in the original definition context; meaning: wise). This Vixen character, however, was too cocky for her own good and needed to be cut down a size or two. Unfortunately for her, Rien himself was eager to attend to that very matter.

Allow me to make a mockery of her. Rien whispered.

Allow me to assist. Kien hissed, her hatred for other woman a high factor in her tone.

We came for my bounty, do you recall? she answered them back. Do not waste too much energy on this one and we have an agreement.

Yes, They both hissed in unison, their cursed bloodlust taking hold of their rational thought. Agreed.

Sera smiled wryly to herself as she drew Rien from her waist. If only people realized how many voices I hear in my head, then they'd be truly afraid.

"We fight," she called. If only for amusement.
