(LORE) HEALING
Mizuki vaugly heard the words "Go to school", but she wasn't paying much attention as Soran kissed her. They lingered for several moments, savoring the taste of each other's lips. Mizuki caressed Soran's cheek. They had somewhere to be but she didn't want to go. The memory of their first heated moment together echoed in her mind. Would this be the same moment? Would they linger here for minutes bordering on an hour like this?
Of course not. They had to be responsible parents. She was first to break away slowly, reluctantly. Smiling and looking back at him blushing like it was their first kiss. The three words lingered on her lips. She dearly wanted to say them, why was it so hard?
Instead she said, "Let's get going." Her mind mentally kicked herself, cried and angrily accused her lips for not obeying the mind's orders. 'Why is it so hard to tell you now?' she wondered.

Soran nodded, stopping himself from following her lips as they moved away. "Right," he confirmed calmly, and began pulling his boots back on. When he was done, they left the house and made the short walk to where the school house was located. Soran looked around him with a flat stare as they stepped into a hallway papered almost entirely in fingerpaint drawings and barely discernable scribbles. The tall rogue looked completely out of place; it even felt like he had to duck to fit under the doorframes. They made their way down the hallway and came to a room where "Principle" was written on the door. Soran eyed the sign with scrutiny, swallowing a comment about the spelling error. He glanced at Mizuki and knocked firmly on the door.

Rai sat in a chair in the corner, kicking her feet back and forth. The headmaster was seated behind his desk, flipping through some papers. "Surely you're parents will be here soon," he said with a sigh. He couldn't take the child's humming for one more minute.
Suddenly a knock came to the door and his head rose quickly with a slightly annoyed, but happy smile. "Enter," he said, leaning his thin old form back into his chair.

The head master flipped backwards in his chair at the shock of who was coming through his door. He quickly stood up to try and save himself some dignity. He brushed himself off and coughed once into his hand.
"Soran Nightblade, what brings you here?" he asked, very interested in the matter. "I was just waiting for this childs parents to come in for a meeting, but I can assisst you."
Rai turned her head around and grinned. "Daddy!" she took off and pounced at Soran to try and get him to lift her up.

"Hello," Mizuki said cheerfully, filling in the greeting Soran had forgotten. Mizuki smiled at Rai as she pounced Soran. "I am Mizuki, Rai's mother." she said introducing herself to the Headmaster, taking advantaged of his moment of confusion.

"Uh... Mother and father?" he looked down at the little girl, who didn't look like either of them. But, stranger things had happened. This was very strange.
"Mrs. Rai here has been telling lies. Not to mention being very violent towards a fellow student." he looked at Rai accusingly.
"He pushed me down!" Rai said and put her hands on her hips.
"At any rate you should have imformed the teacher.... Not hit the boy in the... In a personal spot," the headmaster said very dignified. "What did you say that made him push you down. Thats the other part of the problem," the headmaster said to Soran.
"I said my daddy could beat up his daddy!"

Soran tilted his head slightly, as if acknowledging that well, that was sorta true. He remembered teaching Rai about the 'personal spot' when he'd kept his promise about teaching her self defense. But aside from these thoughts, the headmaster's complaints did little to concern him. Hazing and bullying had been far, far worse in his school, and teachers had never stepped in. Maybe something more serious had happened that he wasn't being told? "Was there serious bleeding?" he suddenly asked, as if he'd figured out what the big deal must have been.
Mizuki bit her lip. It was probably true anyway. She wanted to both laugh and be the appropriate mother at the same time.
"Was there serious bleeding?" Soran suddenly asked, as if he'd figured out what the big deal must have been.
Mizuki shook her head and sighed, looking down at Rai and secretly winking at her. Whatever it was, the boy probably deserved it anyway.

Mizuki narrowed her eyes at the headmaster. "We've bee traveling a lot before settling here, Rai lived a bit of a rough life for a time. So she can fight, doesn't mean she's a trouble maker. She also wouldn't attack without reason." Her tone was firm, and held a warning in it. "Now Rai," she turned her face to look at Rai, wanting her side of the story. "What happened exactly." It wasn't a question, but an order for her to tell her.

"This boy came up and was all like, 'my daddy just got promoted to Captain of the Guard'," Rai said as she strutted around poking out her chest. "'I bet he could take down the whole town,' he said. 'Not my daddy or mommy,' I said. 'Oh yes he could,' he said. 'Oh no he can't,' I said. Then he said, 'My dad could take you're dad.' I said, 'My dad could beat your dad up with his eyes blindfolded!' Then he pushed me down and gave me this cut, see!" Rai held up both her elbows which had scrapes on them. "So I kicked him!"
"Alright then," Mizuki tried to figure out how that constituted fighting in children but, they were kids. "I think both should apologize to each other, not just one getting punished." Mizuki suggested with an affriming glare at the Headmaster. "Kids do these things, they're nothing more then petty tiffs."
