Name: Tenele Raider
Age: 125 Half- elf years (23 Human)
Race: Half-Elf
Job/Class: Queen’s Maiden to Sinead of Ighten/ Ambassador and soldier
Power: Tenele has the ability to heal, though she rarely uses it. It drains her of her energy, and she doesn’t like to be weak. She cannot heal herself.
Appearance: Tenele is 5' 4" and ways around 120 pounds. She is slim built, and well toned. Her duty means that she has to be physically fit for battle. Her hair is well passed shoulder length silver. It is board straight, and rarely tangles. To the touch it is like running your hands through silk. Her face is narrow, with lovely high cheek bones. Her eyes are a crystal bright green. A stark dark circle surrounds the iris, causing them to appear brighter than they truly are. Tenele is considered by many to be a strikingly beautiful woman, but she is not without flaws. Her body is littered with scars, most of faint soft white lines. She has seen her share of battles and fights, and because of this she is marked by them. Most have faded after an uneventful magical operation in which a vampire by the name of Vlad was involved. Because of his interference, by accident of course, her race was switched with his. A vampire heals to the point of near perfection, and because of that she was healed of most of her scars. All Queen’s Maiden’s are marked. It makes it easy for them to be identified if their bodies are found on the battle field. Though, it is a very large signal to an enemy that is looking for one. It is a black half-moon and half-sun located on the right hip. It is about the size of a half-dollar.
Weakness: Tenele has normal human weaknesses. Because of her Elven decent she can sense dark energy if it is very strong. Vlad, the man she’s in love with can sometimes be a weakness. Tenele has lost many people she has cared for over the years, and would do anything in the world to ensure he stays safe, even if it meant giving herself. Her temper and tongue can be a grave weakness, especially when she can’t keep her mouth shut in front of the wrong people.
Biography: It has run in her family to be a Queen’s Maiden. Her mother was one of the most reknowned Queen’s Maidens in Sinead’s court. When she was young her father left her mother, taking with him her older brother Talon. Her father had been a well known soldier and alchemist. Eventually he abandoned Talon as well, seemingly disappearing from the face of the earth. Her mother was sent on a ambassadorial mission to deliver a message to the Queen of Arken. She was captured by Shea, tortured for information, and later beheaded. Her head was sent and left at the steps of the Lowight palace.
When her mother died Tenele and Talon were taken under Sinead’s care. She was very young, and like most girls her age that are orphaned, she was sent to learn to become a Queen’s Maiden. Her brother requested to be sent away to learn Alchemy. Tenele fought well to become the top of her class. She strove to be the best, to be as much like her mother as possible. Her view of her father was that he was better off dead for leaving them.
So Tenele grew into a strong woman, and when the feud between Shea and Sinead intensified the targeting of Maiden’s only got worst. Maiden’s are considered a symbol of the Queen. All of them are like daughters to her, especially Tenele who she took personal interest in because of her mother. Tenele had always wanted to seek revenge for her mother’s death. Part of the reason she and her brother come to blows so often. They don’t quite see eye to eye with each
other’s line of work. It seems both of them took after their parents, and Talon fears his sister getting herself killed.
Tenele had always been scolded by her tutors. They told her that she possessed too much fire. But, as the years have wore on the Queen’s Maiden’s have been whittled down to nearly less than a dozen, Tenele being far more experienced than the others. She is known as the First Queen’s Maiden, and closest to the Queen. She considers her “fire” to be the reason she lived past all the others, and has survived this long.
Tenele was well accustomed to being alone. Though, she lived with two maids who had taken care of her since she was born, she always felt very alone. It wasn’t until one night, in the palace Garden did she meet someone that would insure she’d never feel alone again. To the point where she almost went mad. A vampire by the name of Vladimir Dracul. He teased her, tormented her, and played horribly not-so-funny jokes on her in the middle of the night. Despite the fact he was so annoying at first, she grew to like him very much. They soon became good friends.
Time passed, and they became more like partners. They were sent away on missions together, and soon the partnership grew into something more. Well, it always appeared to be more to Tenele. She fell for Vlad, despite all she tried not to, she fell for him. It was rocky at first, because Vlad rarely acknowledges that humans can come even close to being as good as him, but something had always been different with Tenele. Eventually, they couldn’t fight what was between them any longer. However, there was more to that problem than just admitting feelings. Because of Tenele’s status as a Queen’s Maiden it would look very bad for Sinead if she allowed her pure maiden to be soiled by a demon vampire. Even if he did work for the Queen. After rescuing Tenele from being a prisoner of war, the two confronted Sinead about their relationship. Sinead, feeling her motherly connection with Tenele, did not want her to be hurt by Vlad, or what their relationship could hold, which didn’t seem like much of a future at all. Tenele explained her feelings, and that she’d be worst without Vlad. Sinead agreed to their relationship, despite what the ridicule would bring. So far, Tenele has tried to keep their relationship a close secret, so as to not bring much confrontation before the Queen.
Personality: Tenele is a happy person. She enjoys life, despite its dark corners. She is exactly what her tutors called her. Filled with fire. She cannot stand to sit idly while she sees someone hurt. She will fight to the death to protect someone she cares for, and gladly lay down her life for her Queen. She loves without question, and without hindrance. Tenele can be far too headstrong, and at times can run headlong into a situation she can’t handle without thinking. She has learned to get herself in and out of situations. She thinks that Death is out to get her, with the amount of near death experiences, and the fact she seems to just radiate a signal that draws trouble. In the end, Death apparently has worst luck than she does. He hasn’t managed to catch her yet.
Extras: A Katana, Tenchuu, The Wrath of Heavens. It's only second in sharpness to the Shogun's own blade, and it's been blessed so it can kill demons with only one strike, no matter how fatal. The hand-guard was made of sapphire, and the handle of a metal similar to gold, but many times more resistant.
