Lore: A Test of Strength and Love

The Captial of Arken, it is the darkest known city in the world. As it is the capital and the home to the Witch Queen herself, it is a very dangerous place to enter. Home to the toughest and roughest crooks around.

Airen arrived at the port in Arroes sick as a dog. He couldn't let him slow him down though. He had to find Elena. He had been trying to decide where he should start looking and finally he decided he would go back to his father's palace and ask the followers of Gargon who would be crazy enough to mess with him.

When Airen got to the palce the followers of Gargon were cursing him and telling him of the great evil he has brought upon himself.
"Where is she?" he demanded. They all stared at him in aw. "Where is she?"
They all pointed at the broken statue scattered across the floor. "He has her," one of them said as his attention went to the statue.
"How can I get to her?" he said in a commanding voice.
They looked back up at Airen,"Go to Shea. She will show you the way."

Airen glanced around the room one last time and exited out of the large doors.

Gargon led Elena by the arm, gripping her in a firm grip that burned like hot coals almost. She jerked and pulled, but his grip never faultered, neither did his balance.

"Let me go!" Elena said to him, almost pleadingly.

It was all so strange to be in a place where fire was everywhere and only slight upside down cones of rock floated in the air like safe dry islands.

"Behave," he told her, she didn't obey him.

"No! I won't let you hurt Airen through me!" Elena said, feeling braver than usual as he dragged her away from the fire walls... and through one... It almost made her clutch onto him, had it not been him.

The inside was dark, as if it was a seperate room in this maze of flames and lava, and lit by small fires in holes or in the sides of the stone walls.

"Behave," he said a second time when she pulled away from him.

"No!"

Gargon roared and the fires around the turned to flaming pillars. Elena screamed and covered her head in an attempt to sheild herself from the heat.

The pillars fadded down and in ther place stood creatures of black stone, with cracks running through there body that glowed as if lava flowed under there skin.

"Hold her," Gargon groweld, his image still the same as Airen's, but now to Elena he looked nothing like the man she loved.

Elena tried to move away, but the creatures grabbed her and held her still. Gargon smiled whickedly. She watched as he reached down and grabbed the end of her skirt. She struggled and tried to get loose, but the hot creatures held her fast.

Gargon ripped the side of her dress slowly, up the side until it was all the way up her hip. He dropped the folds of fabric, Elena's slinder leg now visible...

She forze uneasily, afraid of what might happen to her now... Gargon's hand came out and gluided up her smooth leg until it reached her hip. He gripped it tightly and for a moment Elena felt nothing. Then a searing pain as if someone stuck a hot poker to her leg and held it there shot through her hip. She screamed in agony. The pain was so intense that she lost conciousness.

Shea was rather busy at the moment, but she managed to break away from her lover long enough to be seated in her throne room. Now she was bored... terribly bored and had nothing to do... No excitment...

Airen made his way through the dark, open area. The air felt heavy around him and there were large gargoyles starring at his every move. Airen felt as if he were being watched by some dark creature from within the shadows. He heard a sound to his left and he jerked around quickly."Who's that?" he said even though he didn't see anyone.

Out of the shadows from behind some long, see- through curtains he saw a beautiful woman. As she eased towards him, he realized that she wasn't just a beautiful woman. She was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. Airen knew that he must keep his focus on Elena, but she was so gorgeous.

As she got closer to him, Airen found himself speechless. He was entranced by her beauty.

Shea smirked. "Yes, don't be so surprised... I get this all the time in fact," she said in almost a purr. "Airen."

She grinned then. "Don't be so surprised that I know your name, since I can read your every thought. Though, it seems to be feinting away from what you have come here for no?"

"Please stop!" Elena cried, tears streaming down her soft cheeks. She didn't think she could take much more of it.

Her hands were chaffed from hanging from the ceiling by a chain. The back of her dress was lined with red lines made of blood. She flenched as the whip cracked in the background. It didn't hit her, they were just scaring her.

It was working.

"Poor poor little Elena..." Gargon's voice hissed from the darkness, his glowing eyes were the only thing that could bee seen. "Airen's not coming to your rescue it seems?"

Gargon emerged. "I think she needs a few more licks," he said, grinning.

"No...no..." But, she didn't have time to finish her words were cut off by the whip lashing at her back.

"I think thats enough for a little while..." Gargon said to the creatures.

The chains let her go and she dropped to the floor, slamming to the floor with a thud. She curled up there, trying to make herself into a small ball that would protect her from the kicks that usually came next.

"No," she said. "But, now that your here I know what you've come for... A girl, named... Elena?" She touched his face and smiled. "I know who has her and I know how to get you to where he is..."

Shea moved away, gracefully gluiding up to her throne and taking a seat, crossing her long bare legs. "But I need something in return for helping you, you understand right?" she asked, closing her eyes, of coarse he understood... "Your first born child I see will be a powerful man one day... I desire him."

"What?" That broke Airen out of his trance and caught his attention. "You want my what?"he asked in exaspeated shock. How could she ask him for his unborn child. He couldn't give up his child, but he couldn't lose Elena either. Airen didn't know what to do.

Out of his confusion Airen unsheathed his sword and stuck it in Shea's face. " How about I make you tell me instead!" he demanded.

Shea laughed at him like the fool he was. She flashed her eyes in his direction and a invisible force plastered him against the far wall. "I really shouldn't tell him, since you acted so rude... But, I'll give you another chance... besides there is no way you can get out of my grasp, half-breed."

Shea stood up and waved a hand. In the center of the room a portal like circle opened in the air. In the circle appeared an image of Elena. She was sobbing on the floor, bloody lines criss crossing her back. Her bare leg was showing through a rip in her dress, the burned and blackened mark that Gargon had given her on her hip.

Stone like hands lifted her up and held her fast her head hung because she didn't want to give them the pleasure of seeing her cry.

"Please.. please stop..." she begged, she couldn't handle any more.

"Airen isn't coming for you, Elena," Gargon said, finally coming into the picture. He grabbed her chin with his hadn and held her head up, her wet cheeks glistening in the light. "Which only gives me more time to hear you scream..." His hand trailed down to on of her arms, the creature let go, allowing Gargon to hold on to it.

She wondered if he would drag her to another place... for more tomrent. So what came next came as a surprise. He twisted violently until she felt a sickening painful snap that made her scream.

The image faded away. She thought that was enough to convince the lover boy.

"Of course you could let Gargon be right and never go with her. Eventually he'll move on from tormenting her, to making her his whore, which is an upgrade I guess."

Airens eyes blazed in his fury, but there was nothing he could do. (It seemed like only yesterday that he was in almost this same position with a different woman.Lol) He tried to escape her grasp but it was useless and he knew it.

"Fine!" he finally growled,"You can have my first born child. Just take me to her. Please!"

Shea smiled. She knew he would give in when he saw his love in pain... and she was in pain.

"Its simple..." she said and waved her hand again. A purple light appeared like a door against the wall. "Just walk through that.. But, I must warn you, its painful for a person to go through it that isn't a highly trained sorcerer or sorceress... But, if your afraid of a little pain you can always go back down to the temple and pray for a meeting with Gargon. Maybe you'll even find the door to his palace?"

* * *

The left her then, in a small stone room with no light. But, the heat from the fires ouside the stone wall made it steam and the inside was foggy with it to the point where even if you had a light you would barely be able to see.

Elena was crying, lying on the floor shuddering from sobs. She hurt so much and she didn't understand why they would hurt her this much. What perpose was it for if Airen wasn't here to see it... He said he wanted Airen to see. But, see what?

Airen made his way through the portal. It singed his skin as he passed through it. He didn't care. He would do anything to keep Elena from hurting. When he got to the other side he was surrounded by mountains of molten rock and flames. He was definitely in the right spot, there was no denying that.

"Elena!" he called out," Elena! Where are you?" There was no answer. He walked around the searching for her everywhere but there was no sign of her. He finally came to a giant iron door. He pushed on it and it slowly opened. There she was standing there in front of him as if she were in no pain at all. This wasn't what Shea had shown him. "Elena?" he whispered as he walked towards her."Is that you?"

She didn't answer. Airen began to run a little trying to get to her assuming she didn't here him. When he got to her he wrapped his arms around her and was about to kiss her until he looked in her eyes. "Your not Elena?" He was in shock.

"No! I'm not!" At that moment Gargon showed his true form. "I am your worst nightmare." Gargon growled.

"Where's Elena?" Airen wouldn't back down. He was either going to save her or die trying. "It's me you want, not her. Let her go."

"Are you going to make me?" Gargon sneered

"Maybe I will"Airen drew his sword and burst into flames.

Elena pulled herself into a sitting position with her good arm, cradling her broken one afterwards, having to move it with a soft cry.

Was Airen really not coming for her? Maybe he didn't know how to get to her?

Elena was covered in dirt and grime and blood. Her usually silky and shinny hair was matted on her face with sweat, and notted... Where she was time passed more quickly than in Heirot. Where she was it was a totally different Realm. The Realm of the Fire God.

"Please, Airen... Please come for me..." she whispered to the foggy darkness. Whispered as she cried.

* * *

Gargon laughed at him. "Boy you can not kill a god!" he roared. "Nothing can kill me!" He was an arrogant man indeed. But, if anyone knew the truth Gargon wasn't truely a god, merely a very powerful demon that manipulated thousands of followers into thinking he was a God...

Shea could have warned Airen, but it wouldn't have been fun to watch then...

Airen glared at Gargon intensly and said,"Oh but I will kill you or die trying." At this moment Airen lunged at Gargon with his blade. Gargon dodged the attack, whirled around and knocked Airen to the ground.

"You see," Gargon sneered,"you can't even touch me." Airen lifted his head from the ground and looked at Gargon. His face was covered in dirt and his own blood.

"You have me now. Why do you want her?" Airen pleaded. "She hasn't done anything." Airen was losing all hope of ever defeating him. He knew that a god couldn't be destroyed, but he couldn't go on living and let Elena die at the hands of this horrid beast.

Gargon wathched Airen struggle to pick himself up." I might would have let the girl go before, but now you have destroyed that option. I will make her my personal whore and when I get tired of her I will give her to my worshipers where they will have their way with her and eventually kill her. You won't be alive to see or hear any of it so don't worry about it."

This enraged Airen and he leaped from the floor with new life. "You will not hurt her. I'll make sure of that."Airen left the ground and tore through the air. Gargon was amazed. He had no idea Airen could fly, but it didn't matter it wasn't going to help Airen defeat him. Gargon only hoped that Airen didn't figure out that he wasn't a god indeed. He never expected Airen to be so powerful. Gargon didn't let Airen believe he was anything other than a god though. He smiled at Airen and leaped into the air himself.

Airen began manipulating the flames around him. A stream rose up from beneath him and shot straight towards Gargon. Gargon stuck his hand out and the flames stopped right in front of him.

Gargon laughed,"You can do better than that can't you? Let me show you how it's done."Gargon lowered his hand and the flames tore over his body. When Airen was able to see him again Gargon had grew in size and was holding two swords of flame. Gargon was at least ten feet tall. Airen showed no fear and raised more flames from beneath him. Gargon dashed towards him at a blazing speed slashing at him with his swords. Airen raised the flames and engulfed himself. When the flame died back down Airen was gone. Gargon stopped instantly and searched for Airen everywhere but he was nowhere to be seen. All of a sudden all the flames from below Gargon shot from the floor and surrounded him and when they lowered back down Gargon was lying on the ground in a puddle of his own dark contaminated blood. Out of the flames walked Airen. He saw the demons that had been watching the fight fall to their knees before him. Airen couldn't believe what he had just done, but he didn't show the slightest hint of amazement on his face. He walked over to one of the demons bowing down to him, snatched him off the floor, and slammed agains a stne wall. Airen's eyes were burning with hatred,"Where is she?"

The demon was quivering in Airen's grasp. He pointed towards a huge stone."She's in there." he whimpered. Airen looked over at the stone then back towards the demon. He was digusted. He through the demon to the floor and decapitated him before he hit the floor. He rushed towards the stone and struck it with his sword. The giant boulder split and he saw Elena lying on the ground. He hurried to her picked her up and embraced her tightly. "You're okay now." he whispered.

Elena pushed Airen away with her good arm, crying out as she accidently moved her broken one. "Get away! Its a trick! Leave me be!" she pleaded, cowaring down and covering her head with her good arm.

She didn't look into Airen's eyes to see if he was Gargon or not, she was to afriad to have her hopes dashed... and too afraid that if she acknowledged who it was he would drag her out and torture her again.

" A trick!" Airen thought aloud as Elena pushed him away."Why would I trick you?" Airen crouched down beside her again, and carressed her head. "Elena, it's me. I swear it. Gargon is dead." He said in a sincere and caring tone.
