Lore: Finding Home...
Rai had been a sleep for some time now, and never heard anything anyone was saying to her. Her head was partially covered up, so it was no wonder that no one noticed she was sleeping. Toby continued over and over to pull Soran towards her sleeping form. It wasn't like he could move the child to the cot. Well... he guessed he could wake her up... But, she was so tired and cute looking a sleep he couldn't bare to wake her up.
He pulled hard on Soran's pants leg until he led him to where his tall form was towering over the small child curled up so cutely in front of the fire.

Soran watched indifferently as the wolf dragged him next to the couch, where Rai was sleeping comfortably in front of the fire. He looked at the wolf skeptically, understanding what it wanted, but not why it was necessary. He himself preferred the floor...
When the wolf's teeth began to seem like a threat to the rogue's clothing, he reached down and lifted Rai under the arms, casting a brief look at the others in the room before carrying Rai down the hall to her room. Soft blue light was filtering through the stained glass window Rai had built with him. Soran looked at it as he set Rai down on the bed and dropped a blanket over her. He frowned slightly and turned to leave the room.

Rai hugged Soran's neck as he carried her to her room. "Hmmm..." she sighed, snuggling her cheek to his shoulder before he laid her in bed... Doing this all in her sleep. Her head rolled to the side, facing the stained glass window. Her chest rose and fell in an even rythm and the soft sounds of her breathing filled the room.
Toby came in, glancing up at Soran as he passed and curling up on the bed at the bottom where Rai's feet didn't reach. He watched the door like a guard dog... which he was.

Soran looked back down at the young girl unreadably, pausing at the doorway. She was peacefully asleep, probably needing the rest far more than she'd let show on the way home. He left the room silently and stood outside the door. He looked toward the living room where the others were, then seemed to think better of it, heading to 'his' room instead.
Alone in the room, he walked idly to the window and looked out, then paced the hardwood floor a few times, feeling hot and uncomfortable. He took off his shirt to change, but decided not to wear the neatly folded pajamas Gwendolyn had 'laid out' for him while they were off fighting. Tired but not sleepy, he sat down on the floor with his back against the wall and examined the still-unfamiliar bracelets Siren had created, rotating one thoughtfully around his wrist.

Mizuki was led to her room and sat down upon her bed. She smiled at her mother while she left the room and closed the door behinde her. She was tired... Lazily, she stripped herself of her clothing but became so tired that she just collasped on her bed and pulled the blankets over her naked form. She fell asleep listening to the soft sounds of Blade's breathing as he slumbered next to her in his crib.
After Gwendolyn saw the remaining people off the their beds she left for her own room. She could see no more danger coming there way... but she dreamed of them all leaving soon...

Soran opened his eyes tiredly and looked out the window. It had been ages since he could remember being unable to sleep. After sitting there for several hours, however, he was no closer to it than before. He thought about Rai's suggestion to wash. If he was going to be awake, he thought, he might as well do something productive. He got up and left the room, then walked down the hall to the well-room where there was a bath, reminding himself not to think about Mizuki as he passed her room.
He closed the door behind him and began quietly drawing buckets of water from the well into the tub, not bothering to heat them up. If he was lucky, the cold water would knock him out. He undressed and got into the water indifferently, leaning his head back in the water and scrubbing his hair with his fingers. He made use of a bar of soap that was sitting there, then drained the tub and poured another bucket over his head to rinse off. He was clean, but otherwise didn't feel much different. After drying off with one of the towels next to the tub, he pulled his pants back on and left to return to his room.

Rai rolled over under her covers feeling the warmth of them and enjoying how comfortable and lazy she felt. She sighed happily as the rising sun filtered in through her stain glass windows, causing the many colors to shine down on her bed and her skin. Her eyes were closed as she was still half a sleep... She was dreaming... but awake at the same time. Her dream involved Soran walking in the room and walking out... he didn't do anything... just walked in and walked out. She woke up, still in between dream and reality. "Soran?" she asked, rubbing her eyes and looking around the room. But, the door was closed and Toby was a sleep... She shrugged and fell back onto the bed curling into a tight little ball under the covers.
It was hours before the sun was comng up and shining through the window and grazing Mizuki's face, which lay peacefully upon the pillow with her hair strewn about her like a dark halo. But she still didn't stirr. She was too deeply asleep for the sunlight to wake her, but the sunlight did affect her dreams. She dreamt that she was in a forest for no particular reason... just there. And she looked up to find the sun shinning brightly down on her. It was actually blinding her and she squint at a dark, tall figure coming towards her. She could hear herself saying "Who are you?" and felt herself lifting up her arms to the figure and embracing it, it embraced her back.
Mizuki was quite happy in her dream, but Blade small cries dragged her back, reluctanly to the real world. Mizuki woke up groggily, being welcomed by the bright light and sat up in her bed. Blade was sitting up in his crib whimpering to be fed and looking at her with hopefull eyes. Smiling lazily, she leaned over to pick up her son and started feeding him. She smiled down at him as he suckled happily. She felt at peace finaly... but she knew more would happen, but now... just for now... her happiest moment in the longest time, felt like it could last forever.

Rai woke up finally and pushed the covers off. Toby's head came up and he tilted it looking at her with her tangled mass of curls and thousands of strands of hair hanging in front of her cute little face. "Good morning Toby!" Rai said, crawling acorss the bed and giving the smelly wolf a huge hug. "Phew... you stink!"
Toby just made a whining sound that caused Rai to giggle before she slid off her bed. "First I'm going to wake Soran up... and then I'm going to wake Mizuki up." She said with an adorable evil look. Toby made a soft woof as if he were saying, "Your cruel."
Rai walk into the hall and then grabbed the door knob to Soran's room. She opened it a little and then threw it open running in and coming to a sliding stop, Toby padding along behind her. "Good morning!!!" She said with a grin on her face, her hair still messy and unkept.

Soran jerked his head up from his seat against the wall as Rai suddenly bounded excitedly into the room, skidding to a stop in front of him. He hadn't managed to fall asleep, but must have been half-passed out to have not heard her run up to his door. "Don't you know not to barge into people's rooms," he said in surprise, though his relief that someone else was up took the bite out of his words. He blinked at her tiredly, trying to look stern before remembering he had no shirt on. Oh well, he thought, she was just a little girl.
"And what business have you waking me at the crack of dawn?" he demanded casually, stretching an arm over his head and pulling it sideways with the other.

Rai giggled and looked at him, walking towards him and putting her hands on his knee. "None!" she said and leaned over on his knee, balancing herself as she lifted of her legs and laughed before bouncing up and down.
"Are we leaving today?!" she asked excitedly and tried to pull herself into his lap. Her bright blue gray eyes sparkled in the light and her cheeks were a rosy healthy color. Her nose was all scrunched up from her grin. She looked so adorable!

Soran looked at Rai cautiously. Mizuki would probably be staying here with her mother. Wouldn't Rai be happier and safer here with them than with him? He hadn't talked to Mizuki about it yet, but he couldn't see why she would choose to go with him, especially based on the way she seemed to act toward him the previous day.
"I probably am," he said carefully, looking at Rai. "Since you're so bent on waking me up, hand me my shirt," he said, suddenly casual. He didn't want to think about leaving - not yet.

Rai laughed and immitated him, her face beaming. The shirt was far to big for her, almost down bellow her knees and the sleeves looked unusually long and large on her tiny arms.
"I know you're going to return that," he warned.
"Uh-uh..." She said, grinning and shaking her head, the mass of curls falling over her shoulders and strands of hair in front of her eyes to where it was amazing if she could even see. "My shirt!"
