Name: Leydon Godwind
Gender: Male
Age: 173 (about 17 for elves)
Race: Wood Elf
Job Class: Rune Warrior
Appearance: Leydon's appearance is not one that people would expect from someone who likes close ranged combat. He has a semi small build, with only small hints of muscle on him and stands at 5' 7". He has green eyes and blond hair that is tied into a thick braid falling down to his lower back. He wears a white tunic and loose brown pants. Over his tunic he wears a plate armor that covers his torso but not his arms. On his feet are a pair of lightweight brown shoes. However, the most distinguishing feature he has is the large sword strapped on his back. The hilt itself is a foot and a half long and doesn't have a handguard on it. The blade itself is a single edged one being 5 feet long and half a foot wide. At the bottom of the blade, nearest to the hilt, there is are a few runes marked there.
Powers: Leydon uses his own brand of rune magic. Having found that he had no patience to learn the actual thing, he quickly devised his own system after learning the basics, the creativity of youth allowing him to do so. He can do just about anything he would want to with his magic, but the more powerful the magic spell the more it drains him mentally. Also, the less complicated the rune is the more it drains him. Many of the complicated runes he simplified were the more powerful spells, so his most powerful spells drain him significiantly. The only reason he is able to use them is due to his incredible resilience. He is also able to imbue objects, such as his sword, with his magic. However, doing so with even the weakest of spells leaves him bedridden for a day.
Weakness: Leydon has an incredible lazy streak, as his simplifying of runes at the cost of making them harder to use shows, and impulsive. That often leads to bad decisions on his part. He doesn't train very much and actually depends on his magic to up his abilities in battle, so if he's caught while he's exhausted, he's in a lot of trouble. He also sleeps like a rock, making it very easy to sneak up on him in his sleep. Also, when he was younger, he prefered to spend more time naked than clothed, having been too lazy to put them on, making some social situations somewhat difficult in his home village from memories of that time. He's very tactless as well, which further adds to problems in social situations all over. Anti-magic fields tend to ruin his day as well, temporarily removing the runes he placed on the blade to reduce the weight.
Biography: Soon after he was born, Kian Tsumaya, the master of rune magic in the village, saw great potential in the baby and arranged to start lessons with him when he hit 120. However, Kian was in for quite a shock when Leydon came to him after his century of waiting. The boy was incredibly lazy. He was greeted every morning by the elven boy walking from his room in the school naked, having been too lazy to put clothing on. That and the unrestrained feeling he got from it was somewhat pleasant to him. After several heated arguements with the young Leydon, Kian finally gave up on the issue and let him be. It took him a few more decades to get him to dress on a regular basis. A few times, Leydon's laziness served him well, such as the development of his own, simpler runes for his magic. The different runes would make it much more difficult for an opponent to figure out what he was casting, therefore making counter attacks more difficult. How he became a melee fighter was completely due to his impulsiveness. He saw a few of the fighters in the village sparring one day and decided he would like to be able to do things like that and took up the sword. Of course, he didn't train for it and instead uses his magic to back him up. He left his village when he decided that too many of the females in the village were too embarrassed to talk to him because of their memories from when he was younger... and unclothed.
Extra: Leydon has an impulsive and laid back personality. He is also incredibly arrogant. But he does so rightfully and truly respects someone if he sees that he can't beat them. Before fighting he always casts a strength and speed enhancing rune on himself, then charges wildly into battle. He follows the battle philosophy of the best defense is a good offense. His large sword is imbued with several runes on the bottom of the blade. Amongst them is a weight reducing spell, an indestructibility spells, and a light creating spell. He uses that last one to blind his opponents... or to make sparkly lights to distract himself with when he's bored. He wants to find travelling companions that are strong enough to defend themselves, or each other. It would save him trouble if he didn't have to go rescue them too often. He's also looking for a girlfriend that's stronger than him, making it unnecessary for him to have to rescue her.
