Lore: Leading an Army

The Captial of Arken, it is the darkest known city in the world. As it is the capital and the home to the Witch Queen herself, it is a very dangerous place to enter. Home to the toughest and roughest crooks around.

Sqeek:

Einocktura pushed back the flaps of his tent, stepping out into a warm rush of sunlight. He watched as his busy tribesmen worked.

"People of my tribe, today is the day we go to Queen Shea. Now go and prepare yourselves. We leave at dusk."

As his tribespeople went ot their tents, Einocktura went to his right hand man, Vicore, who was in his tent. When Einocktura yelled, "VICORE! Come here now! We must speak!" As he yelled, Vicore ran to him at once. "Yes, Einocktura. what do you need?" "I need you to take charge of my tribe if anything happens to me on the way to Queen Shea, and let me tell you when you speak of Queen Shea you must say 'Queen Shea' or you will be killed if you are reported. And let me do the talking when we meet her guards, because they know me."

"Yes sir," Vicore replied.

"Now, we must go. It is almost dusk." With that he left the tent and tribal grounds with his soon-to-be-army. Only, they didn't know about the vicious and evil bargain that he and Queen Shea had made just 500 years ago.

Meagan:

Miah looked
curiously at the werewolf tribe as
they hurried along. She had
awakened a little more earlier than
usual, for she had a horrible dream
that someone wanted to kill her.

"Now, we must go. It is almost
dusk," said one of the werewolves,
who was apparantly the leader.

He seemed very excited for some
reason. He acted as if he was
about to accomplish something
really big. Miah could usually sense
what a person was feeling. The
moon came into view and she
followed them secretly...Of course,
she didn't want to seem suspicious,
so she turned into a bat. That way,
she could see them better.

Sqeek:

As they marched out, the moon arose. Einocktura quickly transformed concealing the fact that he was the only one of them that could change at will. Just as he transformed, all his people changed with him, but they had no choice.

"We must hurry. We must get there in four days. but we must run to make it there that fast. Now, lets go!"

Further and further they went, and before long Einocktura had noticed that he was miles ahead of his tribe. So he stopped to let them to catch up. They were soon back up to speed with him.

Einocktura apologized saying, "I'm sorry, I forget that I am much faster than you all."

"We know you are. We are sorry we are not any faster than we are. We will try to be faster this time."

"Good, I appreciated your apology. We need to run faster anyway. It is almost daybreak and we will lose time and speed."

As they were running, the sun began to rise. Einocktura turned to see his people turning back to their human forms. Einocktura quickly changed so they wouldn't know his secret.

"We will stop to eat for an hour. But no more. We need to get moving. Vicore, what is here to eat?"

"There is some wild game and fruits. That is all that I see."

"Then that is what they'll have to eat. I will look around the area for any spies."

As Einocktura walked away, Vicore told the tribe what they will eat.

Meagan:

Miah was
very tired. She had flew all night,
but she didn't want to quit. She
had come too far to stop now.
From what she saw, it looked as
if they were heading towards
Queen Shea's castle.

She saw that the sun was coming
up. It didn't hurther, she just
didn't like it. "Well," she thought
to herself, "One day without sleep
can't be THAT bad."

She saw the werewolves stop,
so she did as well. She needed
to rest her wings, but she couldn't
be a bat anymore. She turned into
a small fairy. That way, she could
still fly. She stayed in a tree and
ate some fruit from it, but she still
watched the werewolves in case
they left. She wanted to know
what they were up to in case they
were trying to cause trouble with
the queen. Then, she saw the
werewolf leader coming her way.
She flew to the top of the tree and
waited for him to pass.

Sqeek:

As Einockutra wlked through the woods, he heard the trees moving. He began to get suspicious and wanted to know what was happening.

"Who is there? Show yourself now, coward!"

Just then a fairy came out of the tree. She was a small, pink fairy with a fruit in her hand.

"Who are you? What are you doing here?"

Just then, the fairy hands him the fruit and flies away.

"Well, that was wierd. I wonder what she was here for. Maybe it lives here. Better follow it.

He starts to run after the fairy, thinking its a spy. But as he ran, he noticed he needed to return to his people, because an hour had passed. He didn't want to worry them.

Meagan:

Miah handed
him the fruit, hoping it would
make him think that she was
just a nice fairy instead of a spy.
But he began to follow her.
"Oh, shit!" she thought to herself.
She flew faster and turned again
to see that he was no longer
following her. She sighed with
relief and headed back, but this
time as an orange fairy. Not pink.
She returned to see that they
were leaving. Miah smiled and kept
with her plan to find out what they
were doing. She heard a conversation
between the leader and, who
apparantly was, his right hand man...

Sqeek:

"Vicore, we are leaving now. I saw no spies. We should be safe."

"Are you sure there were none? They could have been hiding."

"Do you not trust me, dammit! Have I ever been wrong?"

"No. I have defied you. Forgive me, sir."

"I will, but don't try that again. Be happy you are my right hand man. Now, out of my sight."

"I will go now. Where do you want me to go?"

"Anywhere but here. Watch the back group. They are a bit slow."

"Sir, why are we going to see Queen Shea? Why must we all go with you?"

"We must meet her. She wants to see how I have prospered. Normally I would have gone alone, but I wanted everyone to come so she could see how strong we are."

"I undertand. I will leave you now."

As Vicore walked off, Einocktura was happy he had come up with that lie so quickly. He would have been caught, but he was smart. Just then, he noticed an orange fairy.

"Not another one. Where are they coming from? Maybe I should kill this one."

Meagan:

"Not another one.
Where are they coming from?
Maybe I should kill this one."

Miah paniced a bit and spoke back.
"Kill me? Why would you do that?
It wouldn't be very wise...And what
do you mean by 'another one'?"

Sqeek:

I have seen a pink one just like you, but not quite the same. Are you a spy for Queen Sinead? Who are you? And tell your fairy friends to leave me alone!"

Meagan:

"A spy? For
Queen Sinead? Hell, no! I'm
on Queen Shea's side! And for
your info, I was on my way there.
I don't know where YOU are
heading, but just because you're
paranoid doesn't mean I'm going
to wait until tomorrow to complete
my errands!"

Miah knew it was wrong to lie,
but she had to.

"By the way, I'm Chico."

Sqeek:

Fine then, just leave me alone. maybe it's good to know that there are people who are on Queen Shea's side. Since you are going to her palace, maybe you would like to join me. I'm heading that way too. We could help each other."

Even though he was trying to sound nice, he was really annoyed. He wanted to be the only one who was going to see Queen Shea. But as long as she was on the queen's side, he didn't have a problem.

"Do you agree to come with me to Queen Shea?"

Meagan:

Miah didn't like
the idea of sticking with him. He
was very demanding. But she
wouldn't have to hide anymore.
That was good.

"Sure, but aren't YOU rude! I give
you my name, and I still don't know
yours!"

She said in a cute way and smiled.

Sqeek:

Please forgive my rudeness? For I am on a mission that only I know of. You might of noticed that my men are absolutely clueless on whats going ,there a little slow. By the way I'm Einocktura, Einocktura Pavare'."

Meagan:

Miah got excited.
Hmm...A mission only HE knows of?
This sounds interesting...She smiled
and looked at him curiously. "Ooh...
Naughty Einochtu- Einoctur- What ever...
To be keeping secrets from your men! I
love secrets! Your secret's safe with me,
but I'm curious...What kind of 'secret mission'?
Oh, do you have a nickname?"

Sqeek:

"I don't think I should tell you my mission. But since you are on Queen Shea's side, I will tell you. I am going to give my people to the queen and they will be her army. I will be there leader still. And I will get to be with Queen Shea forever. I will never leave her side. So, what about you? And my nickname is Enoc. That should be easier for you to say but don't say it too much. You'll drive me crazy."

Meagan:

Miah was even more
curious than before. She just had to know
what "I'll be with her forever" meant.

"I'm going there to find my cousin."

Miah had to make up a lie quickly.

"She's wanting to help Shea too. She
left a long time ago, and I wanted to make
sure she was okay. I may even start helping
the queen also. I guess since you are nice
enough to let me travel with you, if I can help
you in any way, tell me. I owe you one, Enoc."

Lena:

Lena screamed as her wings retracked. A stork flew right in to her.

"Stupid bird! Go away!"

At those words, the bird exploded into flames. The burnt carcass fell to the ground.

"Whoops, that wasn't supposed to happen but.... that was funny. Let's see if I can fry another one."

A blue star appeared when Lena killed two more birds.

"There comes another 'friend'. Let's see who it is this time."

As the ghost appeared, it wasn't a pretty sight. Its body was twisted out of shape and it was soaked with blood. The face was slashed in several places along the neckline and checks.

"Help me. I'm going to die."

"You're already dead buddy. Go somewhere else."

The ghost was devastated and left. Good, it's gone. Lena thought. She began to scorch her victims when she overheard a small conversation. It was between a fairy and a large(what looked like a commander of an army) talking about a secret plan.

"What are they talking about? Why is it about Queen Shea? I may know a little about her, but I should see what their doing."

The conversation ended and the talkers walked away. Lena decided to follow them and see what was happening.

Meagan:

Miah sniffed the air. It smelt of something burning.

"Do you smell that?" She asked Enoc. "Do you want to stop your tribe and check it out? It could be something....bad."

Sqeek:

Lena heard the two talking some more.

Oh no! Did they hear me over here? Better keep quiet.

She huttled down by her hiding place to see what they were doing next. It seemed they were debating about stopping a tribe.

Must be the man's tribe. I'll see if it is.she thought.

Sqeek:

Don't worry about it. There is probably just a burning tree. It's probably nothing. You're a worry-rat. Stop worrying about things. I must keep the tribe moving or we will lose time. Can you keep up with me, Chico?"

Meagan:

"Okay, but it smells like there are bodies burning. Oh, whatever...and I'm NOT a worry-rat! You don't worry about anything at all. The people who are burning whatever the heck it is could be heading this way to kill your tribe! Then you could just say good-bye to Queen Shea."

She stopped and thought about what she said.

"Okay, okay, maybe I am a little worryful..."

She smiled and flew higher to see if anyone was coming, but not so far up that her and Enoc couldn't still talk.

Lena:

Lena seen the fairy fly above the trees just to where she could see everything, including her. She crouch down lower so she wouldn't be revealed. The small, what looked to be orange, fairy circled around in a circle about three times before she stopped.

Meagan:

Miah calmed down a bit and went back down to where Enoc was. She sort of zoned out and started thinking of her parents. Would they want me sneaking around getting into other people's business? She remembered her elegant mother, from which she inherited her beauty, and how she always wanted her to be a strong fighter for Queen Shea's army. Her father, on the other hand, despised the queen. He loved daylight and hated that she took most of it away. Tears came to her eyes as she remembered the time when her father poisoned himself and died after hours of suffering.

Sqeek:

Einoctura waited, trying to be patient while Chico flew around to see if there was anything. He almost wanted to just walk away and leave her there. It would gain us more time. That way, we couldget to Queen Shea faster and I wouldn't have to worry about Chico anymore. She worries to much. He watched as Chico began to decend to the ground. He noticed that there was tears in her eyes. He figured that she must have some dust in her eyes. Or, it could be something more than that.

"What is wrong with you? Are you a crybaby now? Come on, let's go. We need to find the tribe."

Lena:

Lena watched as the fairy lower herself to the ground. She noticed that she was crying. But after the words of the man, Lena noticed a sudden change in the fairy's emotions.

"Oh yes, are they going to fight?"

Meagan:

Miah's tears dried that instant. Her face turned red with anger. I'm NOT a crybaby! He probably doesn't know what it's like to see your father kill himself before your very eyes!

"YOU INSENSITIVE JERK! I AM NO CRYBABY!"

She tried to close her eyes and think of happy thoughts. She didn't want to start swearing and such. Calm down. Don't blow your cover. You've got to keep cool. Think of this as practice as working undercover for the queen.

"Just put it this way. You do NOT want to insult me. I anger very easily. Got it?" Her eyes were fixed in a glare, and if looks could kill, Einocktura would have died.

Lena:

Lena watched on as the fairy screamed her lungs out at the man. Silently in her head, Lena laughed as loudly as she would if she were really doing it.

They are so funny. That fairy really knows how to tell someone off. Oh well, what will they do next?

The fairy was obviously cooling down and Lena was very disappointed. She wanted them to duke it out. But that wasn't going to happen, from the looks of it.

Well, looks like no one will die today. Oh crap, not another ghost. I hate this. Why can't I NOT see them.

This ghost was seemingly not disfigured. It was alittle bloody, but not slashed in two or crawling with maggets. Lena laughed at the thought of those ghosts. They were horribly murdered but it was somewhat funny to her. And she didn't know why. All she knew was they were really stupid and wanted to get her. For what reason she didn't know.

Man, am I tired. Maybe I should go to sleep.

But she remembered about the person and fairy she was watching. She lokked on even more intensely so she wouldn't sleep. But her eyes began to shut slowly. Wake up stupid! You need to see what they are doing. Don't fall asleep. She found herself wide awake now, no longer wanting to sleep. This time she wasn't going to miss out.

Sqeek:

"Jeez, calm down girl! You are such a whinner. I going back to my tribe. Are you coming or not?"

Nightmare:

Nightmare, covered in a black clok, had been asigned to patrolling a certain area around the city. He set off with three of his squires and began his search. He ran into only a few enemy soldiers and killed them without trouble. A little while after he had begun his search he saw a large pack of warewolves. 'I wonder what they are doing here' he thought as he wached them. 'I should probobly go take a look. I hope there spies. I haven't had much fun today.' When he had gotten within a hundred yards of the tribe he said. "Are you with Queen Shea? Speek quickly, I have no time to waste with you." After he had finished speaking he waited patiently for a reply.

Meagan:

Miah closed her eyes once again and tryed to picture her parents again.

"Yeah, I'll go with you, but who's that over there?" she said pointing to a man in a black cloak who was speaking with some of Enoc's tribe members.

OOC: Hey, thanks.

Lena:

Lena watched as the fairy cooled down and agreed to come with the man. Some thing isn't right. Why would a fairy join a man? Or maybe, he isn't a man. He could be something else. Lena stepped out a little more but lost her step. She fell right in the middle of the two. Flat on her face.

"That hurt. I'm so stupid. Oh wait, what about the people."

She seen that they were staring right down at her.

"Ohhh crud. I'm in trouble."

Sqeek:

The tribe watched as a man stepped out and asked them if they were with Queen Shea.

"Of course we are. Our leader has made it clear that we are with no one but her highness, Queen Shea. Why would you ask so."

Einocktura jumped back in surprise as a young girl fell out of the trees. She seemed like no threat, but looks can always be decieving.

"Who are you? Why do you come here? Answer me now!"

Lena:

Lena stared deeply into the man's eyes. She could tell now that he wasn't just a human.

"My name is Lena and I've been here for a while. Just to let you know, I've heard most of your conversation and I'm not with anyone. I'm just a wonderer. But since I live in Arroes, I'm with Queen Shea. Oh, and thanks for your concern. I want you to answer a few questions for me. Like, what are you? I can tell you are not a human."

Next, she looked at the fairy. She looked deeply into her eyes and could tell she wasn't a fairy. But she could be wrong. Or not.

Meagan:

"Hey, girl. Are you okay? You're staring at me."

Miah stared back at her with curiosity and spoke again.

"How did you know that he wasn't a human?"

Lena:

Well, at least someone is concerned. But I'm not 'girl'. My name is Lena. I can look into someone's eyes and tell what they are and if that is who they really are. Like you, are you really a fairy? Cause your eyes don't say so. He doesn't look human on the inside. You are a werewolf, a leader of a tribe. And you, lady, you, you, you... I don't know really what you are, but you can change."

Lena could tell there was confusion in the air.

Sqeek:

"You're not a fairy. You have a lot of explaining to do."

Nightmare:

Nightmare had not yet noticed the three people talking a little way's away from the tribe. Noticing that one of them appeared to be the leader of this pack he began to walk over to them. By the time he made it over he had just heard the one that seemed to be the leader speaking. He immediatly interrupted them and said "Prove to me you are not spies, all of you. If I find that one of you has lied to me. I will cut your throat."

Emora:

OOC: I'm sorry Nightmare, but you can only post your character in one thread at a time. You can join this one, but you will have to leave the other one. Or you can leave this one and stay in your other one.

Meagan:

"I'm not a fairy. Sorry, but I didn't want you to know my true identity. I'm not going to find my cousin either. I was on my way to Queen Shea's castle to see if I could help her with anything. It's my mother's wishes. That's when I ran into you and your tribe. I felt like joining along instead of traveling alone. Is that a crime!? Besides, you still haven't fully explained this 'secret mission' thing. Why haven't you told your tribe? Are you trading them for sex or something!?"

Miah changed into her true form when the man who was talking to Enoc's tribe came over.

"Prove to me you are not spies, all of you. If I find that one of you has lied to me. I will cut your throat."

Miah was surprised. How demanding! Men are SO insensitive...

"I'm not a spy. I'm traveling with this man and his werewolf tribe. He is giving them to Queen Shea. This girl here, Lena, is also with us. Do you need anything?"

She said it with an attitude and glared at the man as if she were going to kill him. She hated it when people were demanding with her. It's not like she was perfect.

OOC: Hey, Nightmare. If your gonna leave this thread, please don't just disappear. Say, "Okay good-bye." or something.

Nightmare:

Realizing they where not lying Nightmare looked at the three and said "I am sorry for the intruision. I will get out of you'r way now" With this said, Nightmare left them to continue with his mission.

OOC: Okay good-bye.

Meagan:

As the man walked away, Miah looked at Lena and Enoc again.

"Okay, Lena, you owe me for that. I could have said you were a spy. You are, sort of, so you owe me."

She looked at Enoc crossly.

"You need to tell me more about this secret mission. If you're going to get all mad at me for not being a fairy and make me spill the truth, you need to, too. I'm a shapeshifter, buddy, I can do a whole lot more then you think."

Lena:

Lena felt for once in her life that she was appreciated. She was very happy that someone cared about her.

Well, I do owe her one, so I guess I will join them.

"Thanks. You really saved me from dying. Am I really a part of your little group? I mean, I just fell out of a tree and you said I'm part of this."

Lena waited for an answer.

Meagan:

"Well, I don't care if you travel with us. It all depends on him."

She pointed to Einoctura.

"He's the boss...I guess. But, what ever we do, we need to do it fast. We're wasting time. We need to get to the castle!"

Sqeek:

"Well, I'm not just actually going to see Queen Shea. I'm really going to give her these people as an army. 500 years ago, me and Shea made a deal after I bacame a werewolf. So, actually, I'm fulfilling my duties."

Meagan:

"Okay. Well, we need to move on. We need to stop wasting time. Oh, and I'm guessing Lena can come with us. After all, she could be of some good help to the queen also."

Sqeek:

Yes, she can. That is, if she really wants to. How does that sound to you, Lena?"

He smiled at her and for once, his eyes were warm and affectionate. The girl still sat there on the ground holding her forehead. She looked at him so sadly.

Lena:

"Um...okay. That sounds fun. You're not mad at me? I mean....nevermind. Let's go!"

Enoc, Miah, Lena, and the werewolves kept going. When they knew they were almost at the castle, they started running and finally saw it on the horizon.

"We're there! We're finally there!"

Meagan:

Miah looked at Einocktura and smiled. He seemed so relieved, but she still wondered if he was mad at her for lying. Surely he understood. But what if he didn't? There were so many questions going through her head, she hardly even saw Quen Shea's castle on the horizon.

Lena:

Lena was relived that they were about to stop.

"Finally, I can rest my legs. This was a long run."

Lena was about to fall down on the ground. Her legs were so weak.

Sqeek:

Einocktura smiled and his whole face lit up. He watched Lena sit down.

"Get up! We have things to do!"

He looked at Miah. Her gray eyes were full of worry and doubt. He wondered what was wrong.

"Miah? Are you okay?"

OOC: Sorry it took so long!

Meagan:

OOC: what made you finally get off ur lazy butt and do something?

IC:

"Miah? Are you okay?"

Miah looked up at Enoc.

"Oh, just thinking. I was wondering if you were mad at me for lying. I mean, I was sort of spying I guess. I don't know."

Sqeek:

OOC: I had to post for your b-day. HAPPY B-DAY!!! ^_^

IC:

"No, it's okay. I was a little mad, but you were right. I shouldn't be mad at anyone for keeping secrets when my tribe doesn't even know why their coming with me. I'm sorry."

He smiled and put his hand on her shoulder

Meagan:

OOC: thanx ^_^

IC:

Miah was surprised. Enoc putting his hand on her shoulder? He actually seemed to care! This is weird. I lie to him, and he acts nicer to me... Nothing seemed to make sense to her at the moment, so she didn't really worry about it. When they finally arrived at the castle, Enoc took his hand off her shoulder. Okay Mr. Know-It-All. NOW WHAT?

Lena:

ena was tired. I don't like him. why is he so mean? She looked at the castle.

"Wow, that thing is huge. Are we going in there? Let's hurry up."

Lena watched on as Enoc stared at the castle.

"What do you mean that your tribe doesn't know why you're taking them? Shouldn't they know something?"

Lena waited for an answer.

Meagan:

Lena seemed very curious and Miah knew that Enoc probably didn't want to explain everything all over again.

"Well, he doesn't want his tribe to know why they're here because....it's a surprise!" she whispered to Lena.
