Bejei wondered if he should have finished the guy off without letting Mia do it. It seemed to have shaken her up quite a bit. He hoped she was ok since he couldn't bear the thought of her being hurt.

"Mia, are you ok?" He asked her while he gazed into her eyes, trying to find truth in her answer. "Maybe, I shouldn't... we shouldn't have... or..." He obvious referred to the part where he allowed her fight the man on her own.

Mia looked at him, confused by what he was trying to say. Did he regret making love? No... that couldn't be it...

"I'm okay," she said softly. "Just... sleepy," she didn't think that was the question he was asking, but maybe if she answered it wrong he would ask her in a different way.

"And I'm worried about more muggers... and I'm frightened... and I... you make me feel safe," she said softly, resting her head on his shoulder.

Bejei didn't want Mia to think about it anymore so he decided to change the subject on to something else.

"So how long will it take to get to your parents house?" He asked while he removing pulling her closer to him. "Hopefully, when we get there things will be ok. You don't have worry about anything when I'm here."

Mia looked at him. "Its probably two more days away," she said softly, gowing sleepier as they went on. "Can we stop soon to sleep? I'm so exhausted..."

"Sure." Bejei said as he stopped, glancing around to look for any possible threats. "We can rest here. I'll keep watch while you sleep."

He moved away from Mia and made his way around the area, patroling and making sure they were safe.

Mia looked around, crossing her arms across her chest. She followed Bejei's gaze, watching for someone to attack them. When he was done with his patrol she stepped up to him. "I want to sleep close to you," she said softly. "Just encase..."

After a while of scanning, Bejei returned to Mia side. He felt no danger in the area so it was alright for them to take a short rest or a long rest depending on Mia. He felt she still needed to clear her mind after what happened.

"Ok." He walked over to a tree and laid underneath it, spreading out his arm for Mia to join him. "We can rest here."

Mia pulled her blanket out of her bag and laid down on the ground next to Bejei. She yawned lightly curling up on her side next to him, draping her arm across his chest as she rested her head there.

"Good night," she said softly as she faded off to sleep.

Bejei smiled at her before kissing her gently on the forehead. Somehow, he took was exhausted so he slowly closed his eyes and wrapped his muscular arms around her small frame before also falling asleep.

Morning came too soon for Mia. She opened her eyes to see daylight flowing in through the cracks in the forest canopy. Its a dangerous thing to sleep in the Ashgrown forest. There are things of magic most people haven't seen or lived to tell anyone.

But, in daylight it was beautiful. It didn't give any unnatural vibes off and it didn't seem like the forest itself was out to get you.

Mia curled closer to Bejei. She didn't want to wake up. She was too warm, and too comfortable lying close to him that she didn't want to wake up. So, she closed her eyes and started fading out again.

Bejei's eyes shot open as he heard a sound of breaking twigs. He glanced around, trying to sense where the sound came from. He felt a little uneasy, but he couldn't feel anything threatening in the area. He hoped what he heard was nothing but a small animal moving about in search of food.

"Mia..." He whispered into her ear. "Heh... sleep tight."

He gazed at her before planting a kiss on her cheek. He glanced back up and yawned. He smiled then closed his eyes once more.

Mia groaned and yawned and sat up. She stretched her arms above her head. She didn't want to sleep the day away, but sleeping more just made her more tired. She shook Bejei lightly.

"Wake up," she said softly, smiling. "We slept too long..."

Bejei awoke after Mia shooked him. He glanced down at her and nodded his head to her. It seemed they had over slept, and now he felt a little refresh.

"Ok, I'm up. Lets continue." He said as he stood up, gently pulling Mia to her feet. "Which way?"

"Should be up there..." she she said point down a path. "It won't take long... Really, I'm in no hurry to get back."

But this was for the best. No matter how many horrible comments her mother could come up with to spit at her, this was for the best.

Bejei just stared down the path... the path to his soon to be inlaws. That sounded strange to him since he didn't know how to act as son-in-law.

"Ok. Lets take our time then ok?" He didn't want to hurry there also since he felt that Mia wasn't sure or prepare to break the news to her parents. He wondered what they were like, and how they would react to the news?
