Airen just stood back and watched her button up the dress.

"So when do you wanna leave?" he asked.

Elena smiled as she turned towards him. "When ever you would like to," she told him, not understanding his urgency to go. They had no where to go... no where... They couldn't go back to Ighten, no matter how much she missed it there.

"Well" he prodded, " Maybe I should be asking you where you wanna go?"

He knew that she missed Ighten, and he also knew that she wasn't allowed back because of his temper.

Elena looked at him and then around the room. She wanted to say she wanted to go to Ighten, but she didn't want to upset him. "Some place quiet... where the sun shines and grass grows and we don't have to worry about evil men after us..."

Airen knew that Elena truly wanted to go back to Ighten, though she would never tell him that. He knew that she would also be happy as long as they were together.

"Well," he said,"Where would that be?"

Elena looked at the ground for a moment. "Ighten," she said softly. "I want to go back to Ighten... I know we can't so we can go somewhere else..."

Airen looked at Elena. He knew that was where she wanted to go but he didn't know what he cold do about it.

"Fine," he said," that's where we will go."

"But, we can't!" Elena said. "The queen will try and have you killed, surely... She said she would know when we crossed the borders into Ighten didn's she? I don't want to be the cause of your death Airen. I couldn't take that..."

Airen saw the innocence in her eyes as she said these dreadful words. He knew that she was right. They couldn't go back to Ighten. He would do everything in his power to get them back in though.

"We can go back, and we will!" he said in a convincing tone, knowing he didn't know how he would ever get them back in. "We will go to the queen herself, and I will apologize for the way I acted...and... if that don't work..." he looked at her elegant face, "Well, we'll figure that out when the time comes."

Elena never thought she would ever hear those words out of his mouth. He would apologise to the Queen? Was he doing it for her? That was the sweetest thing... She hugged Airen tightly. "Thank you! Oh thank you!"

She smiled at him, her violet eyes sparkling. "We won't have to worry about any great evil's coming after us!"

Airen stumbled back as she pounced on him and put her arms around him. He put his arms back around her and held her tightly.

He looked at her pure smile and smiled back," Yeah," he whispered as his eyes wandered from her face and his smile vanished," No more evil."

Airen knew that Shea would come after their first child and there was nothing he could do to stop her.

Elena smiled and kiss his cheek with her soft lips. "You sound slightly disappointed? Excitment getting you?" she asked him with an arched eyebrow. A playful look crossed her face.

Airen stopped thinking about Shea and her evil and drew another smile upon his face. He softly kissed her back.

"Well," he said," I do believe I'm about ready to go." He began gathering up their belongings.

Elena sighed happily, so happy to be heading home. "Me too," she said and helped him gather everything, admiring her dresses one more time before they disappeared into a leather bag.

"How long do you think it will take to get there?"

He thought about it for a moment then looked at her with puzzlement. "I'm not sure." he replied," It doesn't matter though. We'll just take however much time we need."

He kissed her and said," I'll be down stairs while you finish getting ready." He turned and headed down stairs.
