Mizuki looked over her should towards the stairs idly, not truely caring about what was going on up there, but yet curious. She turned back to him and said, "Mmm, it's fine Soran. You were angry and said rash things." she smiled lightly and caressed his cheek tenderly. "I was angry and did rash things." she laughed at herself gently.

Soran's posture eased slightly and he pushed a hand into his hair, glancing away in a half-embarrassed, half-stressed gesture. He was relieved at Mizuki's safety, but still had no idea what to do about Sid. "That guy always throws me off balance," he tried to explain, and it wasn't even clear from his voice whether it was aggravation or nostalgia behind the comment.
Meanwhile, Sid smirked good-naturedly at Rhen's spirited young disciple. "If you ever do that, make sure you tell me all about it," he said, but said it in a rhetorical way, not suggesting that he really would be there to tell. "How did a sprite like you end up with a stormcloud like R...your father, anyway?" he asked, tripping on the name she wouldn't recognize. For some reason, he'd never been comfortable calling him by his adopted name. It was the look in his eyes when Cerno first called him it, that made it sound like a curse in his mouth.

"Heh. Amazing," Sid murmured mostly to himself as he observed Rai. He was beginning to step out beyond his jealousy and feel just a bit happy for Rhen. For someone in his position to achieve this lifestyle...it seemed more than impossible.
"Rai is with Sid, upstairs," Soran said, pinching the bridge of his nose as if he'd just recalled something troublesome. "I'm going to see him out. I don't know why he's here...but I can't trust him." He looked at Mizuki. Somehow looking at her made him want to trust Sid, if only to prove that trust was still within his ability. "But I don't think he came here to harm us, either," he conceded more hopefully than he wanted. He stood up, looking at Mizuki as if she might come with him, but he wouldn't bring himself to ask.

"Do I live here? Naw, I'm afraid I'm just passing through on some business. I didn't expect to bump into you people," Sid said with a chuckle, scratching at the back of his head. He glanced to the door as Soran walked in with Mizuki, looking as stern as ever.
"Looks like you're feeling better, my dear," he said graciously to Mizuki.

Sid glanced from Mizuki to Soran. "Did our spat inspire you to go put on jewelry? Is that some kind of stress relief?" he said, in a cautious but casual tone as he noticed the bracelets on Soran's wrists.
"Yes. Get out." Soran said. So much for tact.
Sid crossed his arms defiantly. "I haven't seen you in ten years."
"And who sent you to do it now?"
"I wasn't sent for you. Everyone thinks you're dead," Sid said indignantly.
"Good. Then why are you here? No, I don't want to know. Just get out." The elf was getting flustered, losing just enough conviction in his tone to let Sid know he was winning.

Sid looked back to Mizuki, measuring her words and the look in her eyes. She was amazing; soft, but strong. How had Soran ended up with this woman? He simultaneously liked her and despised her, feeling bitter that she was closer to Soran than he'd ever been, and still feeling he'd been deserted despite Mizuki's explanation of what happened to Soran's memories. The memories were back now, and they didn't seem to make a speck of different in the rogue's preference. It pissed him off. But at the same time he didn't feel justified in expecting hospitality. He, too, had cards he wasn't showing.
"I've mastered many things in my day, but refusing the wish of a lovely lady is not one of them," Sid said, holding his hands up in a shrug of surrender. He knew Soran would be annoyed that he'd left by her direction and not his. He turned back to Rai and winked at her, then looked back at Soran unreadably for a moment. "Goodnight," he ultimately said, aiming the word at Mizuki, and walked past them down the stairs.
Soran consciously kept his fingers from curling into unsettled fists at his sides, and finally reached out and clasped Mizuki's hand instead. He looked at her in thoughtful silence, doubt crossing his features as he heard the front door swing closed.
"You should rest a bit more," he said at last, breaking his silence as he felt her hands were still a bit cooler than the room. "Don't push yourself too hard."

Sighing gratefully that Sid had understood her, she returned Soran's grip and gave him a reassuring smile after Sid had left. She felt bad for Sid, but even worse for Soran and herself. She felt like she couldn't do anything for too long without collapsing.
"You should rest a bit more," she heard Soran say and opened her eyes to look at him again. Push herself, eh?
"I shall rest." She inclined her head and let her hands drop from Soran's shoulder. "You rest too." She looked back to Rai and sighed, the girl needed sibling's. Mizuki couldn't wait for the day Blade returned. not knowing what else to do for the two, Mizuki kissed Soran's cheek then left the room towards the bathroom. If there was anything she needed it was a good, long, hot bath.
