Heirot

Both of them gasped. Ren clutched at the man who tried to hold her wobbling body steady.

"What's going on?" Her mind was starting to clear a little from the adrenaline, but she was still uneasy on her feet.

"Some kind of battle! We need to find a way out!" The man desparatly tried to find some way they could escape, but there was none. Their heads snapped in the direction of where Warren crashed to the floor, Ren turned back to Logan and cried out his name.

"Logan" she cried.

Logan imediately snapped out of his rage and saw Ren on the floor. He rushed to her side while Warren was trying to recover his strength. "Let's go," he said, his voice now calm and normal. He picked them both up and took to the air.

It wasn't long before they were at the tree line, and he settled his feet on the ground.

Warren stood up and watched them flee the burning building. He leaped into the air and flew to Arroes.

"Are y'all alright?" Logan asked.

"yes," Ren managed. The man next to her nodded.

"Thank you," he said to Logan. He made sure that Ren was ok before he left down the road back to town. In her tipsy daze as she watched the man walk off, Ren fell forward onto Logan's chest.

"oops... Are you ok?" Her cheeks were flushed and she clung to him like life support.

Logan wraped his arms around her and held her close. "I'm fine..."

Warren had done this once before but he had never actually killed anyone. Logan remembered the wings of his dead companions. Warren had lost it for good now it seemed. His demon side now fully controled him.

"Let's find a place to settle down for a little while." he said helping her to a nearby tree. He sat her down then took a seat next to her.

Ren rested her head on his shoulder. She couldn't get a clear thought.

"What was...going on?" she asked him and closed her eyes. Her world was starting to spin.

He put an arm around her and rested his hand on her shoulder. "I'll explain it to you later." he whispered laying his head on hers.

He closed his eyes and drifted off into an unrestful sleep.

Ren nuzzled herself into Logan's body and nodded her head sleepily. Drinking so much had really affected her. She was alseep before she even realized it.


Several hours later, dawn had come and they were still nestled under the tree. The sun shione down on them causing Ren to stirr awake.

Logan felt Ren stir in his arms. Her skin was soft and delicate against his chest. He brushed a piece of hair away so he could see her face. "Good morning," he said warmly. "Did you sleep well?"

"I think so..." She said groggily. Her head was pounding now and the light hurt her eyes a litte. She couldn't rememebr the last time she had gotten drunk like that. "I hurts everytime huh?" she asked, talking about her hangover.

Logan laughed, "You just have to learn when to stop...or at least slow down."

He caressed her head gently. "Would you care to lay around a little while longer before we set out again?"

"I don't learn from my mistakes." she said grinning and holding her head. She nodded and hide her face in his chest, looking like a young girl cuddling closer to her lover. It was hard to think about what had happened the night before, mostly because it was all a little fuzzy.

"What happened last night?" she asked him.

"Not really sure," he answered. Warren had done things like this before but nothing of this magnitude. Warren's power was uniquely stronger than he ever was before though.

"Whatever happened," he continued, "I don't think we've seen the last of my ol' buddy Warren." He leaned his head back on the tree and stared up into the blue sky.

Thinking hard, trying to cut through all the confusion and muddy feeling in her mind, Ren though about what Logan had said.

"If he's your friend, why is he trying to hurt you?" she asked naively.

"That's what I don't know" he said thoughtfully. "He's not the same person he used to be and he's got a lot stronger." He'd always been a little conceided and thought he would be the most powerful and ruthless ruler in all of Heirot. However, his ego was a lot bigger than his will and power.

"I think it's best if we just try to forget about last night," he said, "It wasn't the best one for either of us." he added jokingly.

"Mmmmm," was all Ren said as she rested against Logan's chest and fell asleep again. She had only slept for a few hours when she woke back up again. She was still groggy, but the headache was now gone. She rubbed her eyes as she looked around curiously.
