"Fed," Trydent laughed. "You've missed today's meal, missy. They only throw several of loaves of bread each day and everyman must fend for himself."

"All the more reason to get out of here," Damien interrupted. The air of Trydent's cell was thick and stifling. Quite unlike that of the air where they had been pushed into the dungeon. An icy breeze swept across the room, chilling the sweat that rolled down Damien's back. He turned around quickly to find the source of the unnatural cold.

A creeping whisper lingered through the dark corridors of the den. Damien prepared himself for the worst. This wasn't anything of nature, and the icy breath that it brought cut through them all.

Mi sat up, moving slowly off the bed as her dress ruffled from a breeze that she herself did not feel. She moved slowly towards the door. The breeze that could not be felt tossing her hair as if the air itself was playing with her hair and clothing. She held onto the sides of the dorr frame and leaned out looking up and down the hall.

"Something... It smells like rain..." and indeed it did. There was the salty smell of rain in the air... The type of smell that for some reason made you thirsty, or eager to see water. She turned back to face them, unaware now of the figure standing behind her...

"Valish ka!" Damien yelled as fire erupted from his hands. The fire ball blasted past Mi's head towards the dark figure behind her. The fire dissipated short of the shadow.

"Wha.." Damien stood awestruck. Trydent and Thorn couldn't believe what they saw. The once hot room had turned into a freezer. Ice crept across the floor.

"I'm not your enemy," the ghostly voice said. "I'm not your friend. I am only the way out." Damien stared confusingly at the the misty figure. It seemed to only be a cloud in the air.

She thought that she felt a hand trail up her thigh for a moment. She turned around and the man appirated, becoming more than a shadow, but a solid. He was a tall man with long shoulder length bland hair and pale gray eyes. His skin was pale as well. He looked as if he had been touched by the hand of death.

"Good evening m'lady," he said, taking her hand and kissing it. She pulled back and punched him, however he hadn when right through his face.

"Well thats annoying," she said softly.

"You can't touch me with anything of mortals." he responded. "I am not of your world and cannot be destroyed in it." His ice blue eyes pierced into the souls of the four that stood before him.

Damien could feel the presence of the man within him. Thorn and Trydent fought back with their will and minds, but to no avail. Damien blocked his thoughts and emotions from the unworldly being, but also soon fell to his cold grasp.

"You must be cleansed in my presence." his hollow voice whispered. Damien felt completely powerless for the first time in his life. He couldn't fight back and fear finally entered his mind. He had finally met an enemy, no not an enemy, but being that he couldn't defeat. He couldn't even touch the stranger that looked into his soul.

Mi laughed... "Why is you can touch me. The laws of nature surely suggest that if something can physically touch you, you can physically touch it back..." She was trying to hide the fact she was unsettled. "You can control it can't you... Solidify yourself when you want to... Allow yourself to be physically touched when you want to be touched... You unsolidified yourself when I went to punch you..." I'm guessing since you can control your own matter... Can control the matter around you as well?"

Mi looked intrigued, though mostly trying to cover up the fact he disturbed her. Rambling probably wasn't the best thing to do to cover up the fact she was uncomfortable... however it all came out before she could stop it.

After Damien broke free of the ghastly figures grasp, he stepped to Mi's side. Her rambling really confused him, and he didn't understand what she was trying to do.

"Who and what are you?" Damien interrupted. He didn't catch half of what Mi had said.

The stranger grinned. "I am your savior. Do you not want out of this place?" His hollowed voice, though soft, echoed through the darkened hallways of the prison.

"And what do you gain from all of this?" Damien demanded, growing annoyed with the riddle speaking ghost.

"Nothing but your word that you will help me when I return to you," Water dripped down the cavern walls onto the blackened floor beneath their feet.

Damien stood silent and motionless. He pondered the answer long and thoughtfully. "Fine," he finally uttered from behind blazed eyes. He didn't like to make deals with people, especially when he didn't know what he would be held accountable for doing. However, he also knew that this was a much better way of escape. His energy was already slightly drained. "But what shall we call you?"

"I am Efil, the king of new life. As I am giving you all new lives." His voice trailed off and then returned. "But your new life will come with a price. However that price will come later."

Mi folded her arms across her chest. "Oh, woah, no... I do not make deals with people who expect me to owe them something later unless I know what I owe them first... Or have some idea..." She glanced up, her cold blue eyes staring at him for amoment before looking towards the farthest wall.

"Then you can rot in this hell," Efil's voice retorted violently. "And I can see to it that you never get out my precious little flower." The walls around them seemed to close in.

"Wait," Damien yelled. "I will take the tasks of everyone here." Damien didn't fear the tasks would be anything he couldn't handle. Besides, as powerful as this guy was, he would make a fine ally. "Now if you would be so kind as to lead the way out."

Efil turned down the dim lit path. Damien followed close behind with Thorn and Trydent just behind him.

Mi followed up the rear, though she didn't entirely mind. It wasn't as if she had a preference about which turn she had behind the leader. She brushed her bland hair out of her face, ignorning the fact her bare feet were a little uncomfortable on the roughly cut stone ground.

"So will this take very long?" she asked, getting rather tired of being in a wet, damp cave. Especially getting leared over.

Efil huffed out a slight laugh. The path ended at a stone wall.

"This isn't a way out," Damien argued. "You have only led us to a dead end."

"Ah..." Efil said raising a hand. The wall vanished as the shadowed hand brushed over it. Thorn and Trydent remained quiet as they had the entire time.

Damien stood and watched in utter shock. This guy would be a great ally, but how could he convince one so strong to join him.

Mi walked towards the door that he had made and leaned agianst the frame for a moment as she watched Trydent and Thorn go through. Her eyes fell upon the ghost warily, for she didn't trust him. There was something about him that she didn't want to trust.

"We are not going to walk through here and then your going to wall us up for eternity or something because we've been behaving very... badly..." She said, using her persuasive and seductive charms to hopefully get a truethful answer out of him.

The shadow walker didn't answer, but only grinned. His smile revealed a mouth full of razor sharp teeth. "That would be to easy, my dear." his eerie voice whispered.

Damien lit a flame from his hand and stepped into the dark tunnel. The smooth walled corridor was no more than two feet wide. Trydent and Thorn followed close behind their new leader.

Mi admired his sharp teeth for a moment. Her eyes flashing red on instinct to want to burn his smart smile off. They immediately retreated back to her cold blue eyes. She stepped reluctantly into the hole in the wall walking at the back of the line. Not that it bothered her. It meant if there were any traps it would hit her last.

She walked, thinking that surely there was someone walking behind her. Not that there was... everyone else was a head of her. She felt a cold draft from behind, like that of icy breath.

"So... are there anymore like you down here?" she asked. Though she did not yell her voice echoed down the corridore.

"Must you ask so many questions?" he recoiled. His voice spilled out with annoyance from the woman's constant gibbering. He fell in behind her, sealing the wall back up behind them.

A piercing wind ripped through the enclosed walkway. The flame jerked and flicked about. Damien felt as if he were walking into the bottomless pits of evil. Endless blackness was all that revealed itself before them.
