Lore: Finding Home...
Mizuki blushed, then nodded. She walked slowly with Soran, so not to jolt Blade awake with fast steps... and also to prolong her alone time with him. When they got to the tent's opening she looked helplessly to Soran. She had no free hands.
"COuld you--ah.." she seemed at loss for words. He was so close because of Blade's small grip.

Mizuki blushed harder and stepped inside, Soran right behind her. She tip toed over to the bedroll and placed Blade inside it. Once he was down she managed to get her hands free and worked on prying Blade's fingers from Soran's coat.
When she pryed them off her fingers lingered on Soran's coat then she let go reluctantly.
"I-I'm not tired really..." she said. "Could I sit with you... for awhile?"

Soran's jade eyes looked from the sleeping child to Mizuki. "You can.." he tested, wondering if she was trying to relieve him of watch duty again. He suspected that she was, but he didn't mind the company, so he let it rest for the time being. He stepped back out of the tent, holding back the flap as she came out behind him, and walked back over toward the fire. The night air was chill, but otherwise the forest seemed calm, buzzing with its usual soft chorus of insects and creatures. Soran sat on the ground next to the fire, resting his arm on one knee with his other leg comfortably extended toward the fire. He left the log he'd been sitting on earlier to Mizuki in case she wanted it, more comfortable on the ground anyway.
Mizuki was still standing as she watched him sit on the ground. She blushed harder. 'He gave me his seat... why am I acting like this?!' she thought and sat down on the log, but curiosity ate at her so she blurted her question.
"WHy don't you sit here?" she almost sounded testy, so to ease her tone she sighed. "I mean... uh...I could...sit somewhere else." She felt like her tounge was in knots, something was making her feel like she did when she first discovered courtship between a man and a woman, and that was with Luc!

Mizuki nodded quickly. Her focus was on the fire. Why was she so jumpy around him now? She was normaly calm, normal, sometimes a little embarrassed. She absently looked up to the sky, a few tree branches obscuring her vision but she could still clearly make out a waxing cresant moon and beautifully bright stars.
While she looked towards the moon she thought she saw a shadow dance across it. "Wha?"

"Something wrong?" Soran asked after hearing Mizuki's 'wha?'. The light of the flames was dancing on her hair and face, giving her a surreal type of beauty that caught him off guard just for an instant. He jerked his head quickly back to the fire, which was somehow easier to look at.
A stick snapped in the woods behind them, bringing the creature sounds to a momentary hush. Soran jumped to his feet facing the woods warily, his blades forming in the same instant, and stepped slowly backwards until he was protectively in front of Mizuki. He glared into the blackness of the trees, but no more sound came, and in a moment the creature sounds resumed again. He had probably just heard an owl swooping on prey or a similarly harmless scuffle in the woods.
He wasn't sure why, but he'd had a distinct feeling that whatever had been there was here not for him or the children, or even Siren, but specifically for Mizuki. Still, he glanced up at the tree where Siren perched in her sleep to be sure. Was he imagining things? "Shourai," he said, somewhat annoyed, and the blades dispersed. Without a word, he sat back down, this time next to Mizuki on the log. Just in case.

"Well I thought I saw--AH!" Mizuki was talking but then Soran had jumped up, his blades ready and standing defensivly in front of her. "Wha-what's wrong?" she asked him as he sat down next to her. She looked around towards to dark trees and unconsciously scooted closer to Soran and wrapped her arms around his arm. Her eyes were still watching the trees nervously but again, out of the coner of her eyes she saw a little black shape darting across the light of the fire. But she missed it once she turned her gaze fully to the fire. 'It's a mouse,' she thought to herself to calm herself down, but it was unconvincing and it didn't work.
"Something's with us... but I miss it everytime it crosses light... Maybe it's just a mouse!" She looked to Soran, hoping he'd by it.

"But if I leave you, you'll be alone." Mizuki protested, looking at him. Her concern wasn't even on whatever they were seeing/hearing anymore. Now all she cared about was him being alone out here. "I don't care if you may be used to it but," she held tighter, now feeling like a helpless girl who couldn't fight back at all. Suddenly she let go of his arm then hugged herself. "I don't even know what I'm saying," she said with a nervous laugh and smile.
She stood up and looked out to the trees. "Man, now I really feel like the damsel in distress." she joked.

Soran stared at Mizuki, confused by her behavior, but he accepted it. "I'm fine," he told her almost gently, but didn't pursue the argument beyond that. He stood up next to her and followed her line of sight out into the harmless trees. "If you really want to be out here, at least rest," he faltered, placing his arm cautiously around her shoulder.
Mizuki leaned into his chest. Actually, she clung. She gently grab his shirt and her other arm went around his waist. Her hands felt like they were being guided. The faint feeling of something cold and smokey around her hands but her desire to be closer to Soran out weighed the strangness of the situation. Of course her sense of danger was tugging at the back of her mind.
"How about you rest dear," Mizuki said, her voice heavy with a sweet honeyed tone. There was some type of spell being spun around the two. Mizuki's conscious was going wild, 'What am I saying?' she thought, trying hard to take back her words but she couldn't. She had half a mind to slap herself, but she couldn't work her hands free from the cold, smokey feeling around them.
OOC:...hmm...Soran's in trouble...=P ^_~

Mizuki's gentle weight against his chest brought out the sleepiness in the rogue after riding all day, and he swallowed a yawn. Actually, if Mizuki was going to insist on taking a shift, which it seemed she was, he preferred her to take the first shift, when danger was less likely to come and he wouldn't have to wake her up later. Still, he didn't want to let her, especially after that strange feeling he'd just had, but he did feel rather tired - probably moreso than he should have, but this did not occur to him. Whatever was affecting them, it prevented him from being suspicious of her behavior.
"Fine. But I'm staying out here. Wake me up in two hours," he instructed curtly. He threw a few more logs on the fire to keep it warm and walked to where he'd sat before, then knelt down and swept a few leaves aside before lying on the earth facing away from the fire. He rested his head on his arm and lay still, but was still considering whether he should fall asleep or just lie there to humor Mizuki.
