LORE: The Reluctant Damsel and the Dysfunctional Hero
(OOC: Hnnn, technically the Shogun, Kyosuke and Shinobu are still a day behind. Hmm.... how to deal with this...)
The Shogun held up his hand in protest. "Perhaps later," he said. "We haven't seen each other in quite a while and I should wait for my companion to return so we may meet your group together." He didn't know that Tenele had already encountered the other group. "Your bodyguard may do as he wishes, whether it is to follow us or to depart. If it gets too late here I can get you a room in this inn."
Kyosuke knew a dismissal when he heard one, even if it was masked. With a bow he turned away and walked out the door. Of course, from there he began to hide in the shadows and kept watch over the two as they talked late into the night. He would join them the next morning when they emerged from the inn.

Shinobu watched as Kyosuke left, her eyes a bit sad that he was leaving... She didn't want Kyosuke to think she didn't want him around. The night was uneventful, no trouble came to them as she and the Shogun sat up talking.
She wondered where exactly Kyosuke was. What if he left completely? What if she would never see him again...
Soon it got to late for her to even think about leaving. So she stayed the night in the Dargon's Gut. Possibly the most dirty and vile inn in Hepian. They didn't have a bath, so she would either have to use the water in the basin or head to the public baths for the whole city to use.
She stuck with the water in the water basin, and it at least got some of the dirt off her.
The next morning she came down with her hair pulled back in a loose braid, the only type of braid she could put it in without the propper equipment to hold it together. Her kimono was dirty and ragged like it had been, there was no way to fix that. Her eyes scanned the room for Kyosuke or the Shogun, wondering if any one of them was up.

The Shogun was already awake when Shinobu came down, and sitting at a table. He had forgone breakfast at this place, he doubted it would be very healthy for him anyway. He rose from his seat and nodded to Shinobu when he saw her approaching. "Good morning," he said. "I trust you didn't sleep very well in this barbaric atmosphere." He himself was aware of Shinobu's bodyguard's presence on the street outside the inn all night.
Kyosuke had found an alleyway to take shelter in for the night, though he did not sleep. It would have been too dangerous for him to do so anyway, as the pile of unconscious bodies that lay behind him testified for. From his vantage point he was able to find both the room Kitanai stayed in as well as Shinobu, and watch for any dangerous that would approach from the outside. Of course, it was uneventful, so all he was rewarded with that night was his tiredness.

He hoped they were at this inn. He was getting extremely aggravated with going from inn to inn looking for Tenele Raider and Vladimir Dracul. He wasn’t too keen on the idea of meeting that vampire, but the elf he had seen many times before beside the queen, she would be a pleasant sight.
He stepped in the inn and immediately noticed a man who looked almost identical to the elven Queen’s Maiden. He was confused for a slight moment, but got over it once he noticed the one known as Vladimir.
“Vladimir Dracul,” the young messenger addressed. “I am Christian Smith, a messenger sent from the Queen of Ighten to inform you and Lady Tenele Raider of your next mission… Where is she?” He looked around for the woman who he found so pretty, but only found another equally pretty one standing beside the silver haired half-elf.
“I’m here,” Tenele said from the last step, stepping down and into the common room. “What is it? What do you need?” Tenele had only caught the mention of her name and nothing of the mission they were to undertake.
“Please, can we go to another room where we may talk more quietly?” he asked both Vlad and Tenele.
Tenele nodded, turning to go back up the stairs.

"I didn't sleep very well," she agreed, glancing up at the Shogun. "Partly because my bodyguard was out on the streets somewhere." She took a seat at the table, placing her hands in her lap as she did so.
"I worry for him," Shinobu admitted on accident, though still a bit half asleep. "Anyways, I guess you wouldn't care if he died or not."

Vlad looked up the stairs at the messenger, plotting some deviant prank until he noticed Tenele at the top of the stairs. Deciding he preferred to go directly to her, he didn't invest the necessary time to torture the man...for now. Instead he gave a sinister smile and ascended in a sudden burst of speed, making the messenger cross his arms nervously in front of his face for impact. However, Vlad didn't crash into him, but merely disappeared and reformed on the step above him, proceeding casually to Tenele's side.
"What's wrong, letterboy? Surely the Queen's business is urgent," Vlad reminded politely to the hesitating messenger from the head of the stairs.

Christian closed the door behind them, locking it as if he didn’t want the information he was about to give to literally run out of the room.
“What is it Queen Sinead would like us to do?” Tenele said, taking her seat on the bed so not to use what little energy she had standing up.
Christian glanced to Vladimir for moment. He felt as though the vampire wouldn’t like his mission much. At least if it was Christian having to do it he wouldn’t like it at all.
“The Queen has caught wind of a male brothel close to the coast, just bellow the Border and no to far from the north end of Lowight. It is said that they are using the brothel as a cover up and smuggling Arken soldiers and spies in through it. Er… she would like Lord Dracul to pose as a slave in the brothel.. And er… gather information while you, Lady Raider, to watch for outside information as well as take information from Lord Dracul and report back to her…”
Tenele made a noise and covered her mouth quickly, trying to keep her composure. Vladimir would have to pose as a love slave? That was just… to funny for words. Finally the young half-elf couldn’t contain it any longer. She started laughing, putting an arm around her waist and holding her stomach.
“A love slave? Vladimir?” She continued to laugh until she could feel the curious gaze of the messenger on her and found his expression rather confused. She choked on a laugh and stopped herself shortly. “Sorry…” Biting her bottom lip, she continued to contain herself.
“You’re looking to see who is pulling the strings. The actual leader and you are to take him out by any means necessary. Hopefully with him or her dead it will end at least one way for Arken scum to get into Ighten… Also, you are to dispose of any soldiers or spies that you come across.”

The shogun didn't respond, instead choosing to rise from his seat. "He's been outside the hotel all night," Kitanai said. He began to walk outside with Shinobu following after him, then he pointed over to an alley across the street to a bleary eyed Kyosuke that didn't manage to hide in time. The shogun didn't look very impressed at his state of being. "He can't even manage an all nighter for guarding someone."
On Kyosuke's side, he had lost track of Shinobu when she had gone down to join the Shogun. He saw the man's figure moving towards the door, and scrambled around to find a hiding spot. Upon failing to find one before the Shogun pointed him out, he just waved over to Shinobu and joins her, not catching the Shogun's remark about him. "Good morning Kitanai-sama, Shinobu-dono," he says respectfully, well, as respectfully as a half asleep samurai who had been hiding in a dirty alley all night could manage.

Shinobu smiled at Kyosuke, noticing how tired he looked. "Good morning Kyosuke," she said and bowed her head in greeting. She wanted to offer that he stay and rest, but she really couldn't afford to displease the Shogun, not at a time like this.
"Maybe we should find that inn... and the others. Before they grow worried at least... I'm sure Sir Talon is itching to leave..."

Ylia wrapped her arms around her waist as she looked out her room's window at the filthy street below. It was a far cry from home, but suddenly she remembered why she was here. She left home for work... but that wasn't it, was it? She was with this party because she had felt a connection.
She closed her eyes. With the most beautiful person I've ever laid my eyes on... Her mind conjured up the image of Talon, his silvery hair flowing across his strong face when he first noticed her back at Lowight. He was always so busy now. Was a connection worth this time? He seemed to have severed it, anyway.
She breathed deeply and headed into the hallway. Closing her door silently, she practically glided down the hallway until she reached a room with Tenele's laughter coming from it. It was as silvery as Talon's, but not nearly as intoxicating to Ylia. She smiled, but then Tenele's laugh stopped suddenly. A quizzical look crosse Ylia's face, but she felt as though she was eavesdropping, so she kept going to the the stairs...

Talon sat down at a table, propping his feet up in a chair next to him. He looked at the stairs and finally a thought came to him. He hadn't seen Ylia all morning! Maybe he should go check on her and see if she is well?
He stood up, walking towards the stairs just as she was coming down. "Oh, I was just looking for you!" Talon said charmingly. "Hungry? I'm feeling hungry... I forgot that alchohal can't be considered breakfast..."

Ylia was taken aback. Her thoughts from earlier flashed through her mind... Talon was acting as though he'd been thinking like she had. Maybe not, but... maybe.
Ylia flashed him a smile. "Famished," she exaggertated. Her tall, elven form didn't require much for its upkeep. That was an elven advantage that she had fully apreciated these past few days, but she was truly hungry. She followed Talon to the sitting room to eat. "Alcohol? Ah, the breakfast of heros," she jested. I'm sorry I wasn't here to keep you company... she thought to herself. Her golden eyes flashed up to see him standing there. He was looking at her, but not speaking. She wondered at his physique... mentally, obviously, but physically, too. Ylia's challenge was to hide that part... most of the time... she thought with a grin.
