"Bah, yall are boring..." Rai said and skipped off out of the room to go back outside and do something at least a little more interesting than watching them sleep and snuggle on each other. She guessed she could be mean and try and squirm into the middle of there pile... but decided against it seeings how it had taken Soran so long to come out of his shell.

Toby decided to rest a while, since Rai was about to wear him out. He curled up on a chair.

Siren walked into the kitchen and placed the chocolates on the table, feeling her duty done in the other room. She then snuck back out of the house and headed into town again to visit the local tailor and request a new set of clothes to be made.

About an hour later, Soran finally began to wake up again. Mizuki's warm forehead rested against his lips. He opened his eyes and, this time, was not surprised to find Mizuki lying there with him. Blade lay between their stomachs, resting quietly on his back, but as if he knew the rogue was awake, his curious green eyes opened and looked up at Soran.

Soran looked down at the infant. It was the first time he'd experienced a moment like this with Blade, completely quiet and tranquil, each staring with a kind of awe into the other's matching eyes.

"Mamee," the baby suddenly erupted with a huge grin and gripped his tiny hands onto the front of Mizuki's robe while staring at Soran, as if to show her off to him.

"Yes,.. Mommy. But shh," Soran whispered calmly to the baby, tripping up slighty on the unnatural word "Mommy".

This only seemed to increase Blade's enthusiasm. "Mamee!" He squealed proudly, pulling playfully on Mizuki's robe.

Soran frowned skeptically as Blade's shenanigans loosened the sash around Mizuki's waist, causing one lapel of her robe to fall open and nearly expose her. The rogue cast Blade a warning glance and took the lapel lightly between his fingers to make the neckline decent again, unavoidably grazing the backs of his fingers against her as he did so. He frowned in concecntration as the movement of fixing the first lapel caused the other to fall open as well. He averted his eyes and gave a stern glance to Blade, who in Soran's eyes looked quite pleased with himself.

Mizuki fluttered her eyes open. Slightly bewildered at the feeling of being tugged at.

"Ah--what's--" She looked down to see Soran's hands at her robes front. She stared at his hands for a moment, not really understanding why they were there and why Blade was grinning at them both. Quietly and curious, she placed her hands on Soran's and looked up at him with a question in her eyes. "S-Soran?" a light blush crept up into her cheeks.

Rai was so bored out of her mind she decided to go to that place where Siren had danced on tables... She thought that dancing on tables would be fun. She ran inside and looked around. "I'm going to... erm... go! I'll be right back!!" Rai said and giggled as she ran into town and towards the inn.

She looked at the door as a burly man came out stumbling and started giggling as she pushed on the door and it opened for her. The room was loud at first and then died down to silence. Everyone in the room was staring at her. She looked at them with raised eyebrows and then shrugged, walking over to the bar and climbing onto a stool.

The bar tender looked at her with a grin and leaned over. "And what can I help you with little miss?" he asked putting his rag down.

"Can I dance on your tables?" she asked innocently, for that is what she had come there to do.

The bar tender looked at her blankly and then blinked away the confused look and stared laughing. Then everyone else started laughing. Rai just sat there, looking completely serious.

"Nah, little one, we wouldn't want you to fall and hurt yourself," he said and patted the top of her head. "Say... where are you parents."

"Pulling on each other’s clothes the last time I saw them," Rai said and giggled. The people in the room started laughing again. "Hey! can I have some of that drink that makes you walk funny?!"

"No!!" chuckled the bar tender with great amusement. "Say... you see that man over there?" He pointed to a old man sitting at a table with three other people and they were playing cards. "Why don't you go ask him if he will teach you to play? He's a kind old grandfather who lost his family in the war... why don't you make him happy?" The other reason was to keep her from trying to steal some poor drunks mug of ale.

Soran raised his eyes to blink thoughtfully at Mizuki when he realized he was awake. It was awkward, but he wasn't the type to be jumpy in these situations. "Just trying to fix it," he explained as her hands rested warmly around his. He turned his head up toward the ceiling to listen for a moment. "Seems they still haven't gotten back," he speculated, not hearing any activity in the house.

Mizuki watched him with curious and warm eyes, but she wasn't listening. A smile pulled at the corners of her lips and she brought her hand to his cheek and gently pulled his head back down to face her. She stared into his eyes intently, smiling serenly.

"You slept next to me..." she simply said. Blade cooed as if not to be forgotten and squirmed between them so he was now lying on his stomach, his eyes watching his mother. Mizuki had an undiscribable feeling of joy swelling up inside her... and she couldn't explain it, or maybe she could...

Naoki and Gwendolyn were in the kitchen making dinner as quietly as they could, smiling the whole time to themselves like they had just shared a funny little secret.

The rogue had an unfamiliar warmth in his chest as he stared contemplatively at the woman next to him. His face was composed, but the tips of his ears burned. "Yeah..I didn't sleep last night," he said, somewhat distracted by her eyes and her smooth hand on his cheek.

Mizuki smiled. "I actually can't believe I fell asleep the way I did..." She didn't remove her hand, it felt warm there. "Why couldn't you sleep?" She had a strong notion to the trace her fingers along his arm but she didn't do it. She didn't want him to leave incase he was uncomfortable with that. She keep her eyes locked with his.

Soran hesitated a moment, locked in her gaze. "I didn't expect you to come with me. I expected I'd head out myself, and go back to Hepian." He realized as he said it that by "Hepian" he didn't mean just a place, but an entire lifestyle - the barren apartment, shadows, solitude in crowded taverns..

Rai walked up to the old man and leaned in to look at his cards. He looked at her with a slightly confused and amused expression. "Whatcha playing?" Rai asked and looked up at him. The other three people at the table were grinning at her.

"Spades," the man said and leaned over. "Would you like to help me?"

"Sure!" Rai said, not seeming to be the least bit shy about talking with total strangers.

The old man lifted her a little roughly into his lap, but Rai didn't mind. Some people just didn't know how hard or how light to do something.

Rai sat in the old gentleman's lap, watching as he played different cards, completely confused by there method. Before she knew it, together they were whispering plans to eachother and Rai tried her best to keep from giggling.

"You didn't?" Mizuki questioned him. On impulse she wanted to tell him she'd follow him to the ends of the earth but, she held it back, afraid of what he would think.

"Soran... I told you I wanted to follow you... I mean, I love my mother but... this place is way too close to the fortress and now that Blade is in the world--I fear for his safty here." she explained a littled rushed, a strong blush warming her cheeks. "If you," her eyes shifted around, now looking anywhere but straight at him, "If you don't want me to...follow you... I'll understand..." she finished in a soft whisper. She had then taken her hand away from his cheek and rested it on Blade's back under his little, soft, black wings.

"No. I'm glad you're coming," Soran said too quickly, then steadied himself. "Normally, I don't care for traveling with people, but I don't have that feeling with you and the others." He wasn't positive that all his apprehension about trusting them was gone, but there was a huge change. Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to feel so content lying right next to her and talking as he was. He reached out slowly and rested his fingers lightly on her cheek, somewhat wary that touching her might remind him of her realness and stir up the familiar feelings of danger, but he felt only warmth. Relaxing, he rested his palm along her skin for a moment. He felt strangely protective of her like this, though there was obviously no danger.

"No. I'm glad you're coming," Soran said, "Normally, I don't care for traveling with people, but I don't have that feeling with you and the others." She felt his palm against her cheek and her eyes widened. His intament-like touch surprised her, but she enjoyed it. She replaced her own hand on his cheek, then slide it to his forehead and pushed the strands of dark hair back behind his ear.

"I'm happy," she started and couldn't finish when Blade suddenly became bored with them and smothered his face into Mizuki's bossom babbling, and his wings moved, brushing the black feathers on Soran. Mizuki laughed at her son and his antics.

Soran looked down at Blade as his wing brushed against his arm and stared at the child. "That's amazing. He can already move them.." he remarked with the same unique awe that had been in his eyes a minute before. "Maybe he'll learn to fly soon. He's a quick learner," he speculated, not realizing that his mouth has risen into a proud smile. What place he had to feel proud of the child wasn't clear, but nonetheless he was.
