Lore:(Mature)To fetch some clothes...

This is the forest that covers most of Ighten in dense and thick trees. It is the oldest forest in Heirot, since most of the Forests in Arken have been destroyed. It is well known as a haunted forest where ghosts and demons reside. In the forest are many villages. The villagers will tell you tales of trees that eat people, gaint spiders, and dragon lairs.

Tenele rolled her eyed, not sure if he was joking or not. "Well, you continue... whatever it is you're doing..." she said, smiling at him as she pushed strands of silver hair out of the way. "I'm going to go find a creek or something to wash up at... I feel like I rolled in mud."

She placed the jerky and bread back in her bag and eased into the woods, looking back one final time at Vlad.

"Silly vampire," she muttered with a smile.

Vlad watched her leave without letting her think he was watching her leave, and then turned his attention back to the sticks he'd dropped, raising them up into the air with an idle wave of a finger and setting them in a pile next to him. He looked at the unlit fire, boredom itching at his mind. He wasn't normally this fidgety. As much as he didn't want to admit it, he wasn't thrilled about this assignment Sinead had given him, and wasn't going to warm up to it any time soon. He thought about following Tenele's example and going to the stream, but really didn't care for water. Instead he lay back and stretched on the ground, crossing his feet and draping one arm across his eyes.

Tenele wondered through the woods towards the sound of water. She was happy to find wide and deep enough creek that should could bathe in and one... that for the most part... seemed secluded and surrounded by a few bushes.

She sighed and stepped through the bushes and onto the other side, taking off her boots and dipping her toes in the water. It was almost as big as a river and she guessed it could be considered a river.

Tenele slipped off her pants, and unbuttoned her shirt, stepping further into the water, gasping because it was so cold. She got in the water up to her waist and through the shirt off and onto the shore.

"Okay... this is cold..." she said, shivering. She sank further into the water to try and get used to it.

Vlad lay still a minute more before a thought occurred to him. Swimming was an exhausting activity that Tenele probably didn't have the energy to manage, particularly in a current. If she lost her footing, there was a risk she would be unable to get back out... Of course, he wasn't worried. But suddenly the idea of seeking out an opportunity to pull a prank on Tenele while she was bathing seemed much more appealing than it had a moment ago. Flipping their unconscious guest's weapon casually into his belt for safekeeping, he teleported out of sight and reappeared towards where Tenele had run off to. His keen hearing picked up on her location immediately and he walked toward the stream, spotting her halfway out into the water with her back to him. Smirking, he ported onto a tree limb that overlooked the water and perched comfortably with one leg hanging off, contemplating the woman below him.

Tenele dipped down into the water and then came up, pushing back her silver hair. She sighed, stretching with her arms above her head. She moved deeper into the water, which was suprisingly clear.

She swam into the deep in, floating up onto her back for a moment, but felt strangely too exposed so she continued treding water.

Vlad watched Tenele calmly from his perch, leaning back into the trunk of the tree as he gained the impression she had things under control. He seemed to have forgotten that his original purpose in coming was (of course) to torment her, feeling unusually subdued where a moment before he'd been restless. He found himself staring idly up at the darkening night sky. He found himself remembering that moment in the cave where he had accepted death...thinking about the inhuman ache his bones still remembered, the heat of dragonfire and the taste of Tenele's blood in his mouth...the warmth in her pale smile... Vlad tossed the thoughts away almost violently, tighting his fingers on his knee as confusion replaced them.

Tenele was glad she got used to the water and it wasn't as cold. She swam back to the semi-shallow part until it was waist deep. She dipped her head back into the water, arching her back to do so. She ran her fingers through her hair and stood up straight, silver cascading down her back. Water dripping off her body.

She sank back into the water when the wind blew slightly, putting her arms across her chest for a moment until the water warmed her. She floated back onto her back, glad for the solitude and enjoy thing peace.

Vlad was spacing out looking up toward the sky when the wind picked up. An owl that had been perched in silence just above him suddenly spooked, diving down straight toward his face. The vampire twitched his head backwards, collecting his focus in time to redirect the bird away from his face. Working to regain his unsteady balance, he glanced downward to see where Tenele's attention lay. What met his eyes made him hesitate just long enough for his balance to really falter this time, and he suddenly found himself sliding off his branch. He made a reflexive swipe at it, but missed, muttering a soft curse under his breath as he freefell into the stream a few yards away from the bathing half elf.

The cold water hit him like a hammerstrike as he splashed ungracefully beneath the surface. The extremely displeased vampire resurfaced strongly a moment later with his back to Tenele, tossing his head to get the wet hair out of his face and reorienting himself to his surroundings. With a half-confused and half-irritated movement, he arched around to look at Tenele unreadably.

Tenele didn't notice the man free falling into the water since her ears were under the water and all she heard was muffled sounds. But, she did hear the large splash. She sat up, waving her arms and kicking her legs to keep her head above water.

The form emurged dripping wet. Tall... black hair.

Tenele's eyes widened when he looked towards her. She glanced down at her bare chest and covered it quickly, falling under the water. She resurfaced, trying to inch herself towards the shore. She got waist deep when she realized that her two arms could only cover one thing at a time.

She was speachless, emberassed, anger, and a whole lot of other emotions in one.

"Uh... Turn around!"

Vlad choked back a rebuttal, barraged by an uncomfortable and contradictory combination of sensations. At her order to turn around, her felt his head choose a priority. His eyes shot to the bank of the river and he teleported there as quickly as his mind could focus on the location. His soaked form reappeared on the shore, facing stiffly away from Tenele for a variety of reasons. His mind sought in vain, for once, for a wise remark to address this situation.

Tenele, as soon as Vlad was on the shore facing away from her, ran through the water. Loud splashing sounds echoed through the air as she ran to the shore. She grabbed her shirt, and pulled it on, buttoning it up. Since she didn't have time to drie of properly it clung to her in the most flattering/unflattering, depending on how you looked at it, way.

"Damn," she muttered as she tried to pull on her pants quickly, but she just remembered how hard it was to pull on pants when her legs were wet.

She fell over slightly, but got back up and pulled her pants up the rest of the way. She didn't have time to watch Vlad to make sure he wasn't looking and pull on her clothes at the same time.

"What were you doing!" she yelled at him, putting her hands on her hips and completely missing how the white blouse clung to her chest.

"Someone snuck a damned river right under my resting spot," Vlad returned with an inexplicable combination of irritation and sarcasm, turning back toward her and forcing himself not to blink at her state of dress and the ferocity in her eyes. Remembering his pride, he scathed, "If you think I was here to get off watching some human bathe, you're dead wrong."

Tenele folded her arms across her chest, taking soem strange offence to her words. It felt odd to take offence to words that weren't even directly meant to harm. She didn't think.

"Yes, of course, I shouldn't be offended. You don't get off on women at all do you?" she asked with a smirk and turned, stroling through the brush and back towards the clearing.

She entered it, to find the man coming too and looking towards her with wide-eyed for a moment. "Am I dead? I thought for sure I would be... in another place... With... less beauty and... no women... with... Woah..."

Tenele pointed at him. "You shut up."

He nodded numbly, staring at her as if she were a gift from the Gods.

The mugger was still staring at Tenele's departing figure when Vlad stalked past him, water sloshing in his boots. He stared at Vlad's sopping clothes blankly, looking up at him as if to ask what the hell was going on.

"Shut up," Vlad ordered preemptorily as he passed him.

The man blinked and watched him go, seeming indecisive for a moment before following after him.

Vlad went straight for the saddlebags when he made it to the camp, not looking at Tenele and wondering why he felt so out of sorts over something so trivial.

Tenele stepped around the other side of the horse, which was tall enough to hide her from the wist to her shoulders. She pulled her wet shirt off and hung it on a limb behind her. She grabbed her blanket and wrapped it around her then walked back out, hoping it wouldn't take long for her shirt to dry.

"You," she said, pointing to the mugger. "Tell him I won't be talking to him tonight so not to bother. Tell him if he wants to you both can go sleep in the tree he so dearly enjoyed a moment ago or by the river." She sat down in front of the fire, holding her blanket closed.

The mugger looked at Vlad. "She told me to tell you that you can sleep in a tree or by the river. I'm fine here." He grinned.
