(Lore) Hide and Seek

This is the forest that covers most of Ighten in dense and thick trees. It is the oldest forest in Heirot, since most of the Forests in Arken have been destroyed. It is well known as a haunted forest where ghosts and demons reside. In the forest are many villages. The villagers will tell you tales of trees that eat people, gaint spiders, and dragon lairs.

Lenna was silent for a moment seemingly in thought. There was no question as to what her answer would be. She looked Airen in the eyes and laughed," What do you think? That I'd abandon you...now," she laughed some more," Of course, I don't mind crossing the border. It's my one true thrill in life."

Things were quiet for a moment and Lenna fell serious. Not knowing if she were stepping on his toes, she asked Airen with her eyes set on the fire,"So...why did they take her?"

Airen noticed the seriousness in her voice and figured it would be better to go ahead and tell her.

He scratched his head not really wanting to talk about it, "Well... I made a big mistake..." He cleared his throat. It was begining to feel rather dry.

"I was a fool. I gave up our first born child to Shea in order to save Elena once before. I had no idea what I was doing at the time..." he stood up and began pacing around trying to calm himself. "The only reason I can think of for them taking her is that Shea thought we were getting to far away from her territory." he finally concluded with a sigh. It seemed that a great burden had been lifted from him as soon as he was finished talking.

He finished talking an took a seat beside the fire and began cooking the skinned hare.

Lenna didn't know how to respond to that. He must have really loved her to have given up their first child. Suddenly, a pang of anger hit Lenna. HOW COULD A FATHER DO THAT?! That's so wrong. She'd be furious with her man if he gave away her child. Lenna looked over at Airen. "What were you trying to save her from to have to give away your child?"

This question wasn't asked in anger, just confusion. She'd finally had to admit to herself that she didn't understand their situation at all. This made her wonder if maybe she shouldn't be mixed up in this triangle of good and evil.

"Gargon, the Fire God." He didn't look at her. He just watched the meat he was cooking. "I had no other choice... It was the only way I could get to her... We were trying to get to Sinead for protection but we didn't make it..."

He removed the meat from the fire and set it on a nerby rock. "I'll cut it after it has cooled a moment," he said trying to turn his thoughts.

Lenna looked around growing weary. She reached in her pack and pulled out a blanket. She spread it out and streched out on it next to the fire. The food smelled good. Her stomach growled with antisipation. She hoped Airen hadn't heard it. The sky was clear and stars shown in the distance. Lenna gazed at them admirably. In the morning, she had decided, she'd make use of the spring nearby and wash up, but right now, even though she hadn't ate, the fire lulled Lenna into a soft, comforting sleep.
