Lore: On the Road to Vengeance...

City closest to the Border and possibly the nicest. Most of the pure of hearts and the good people who were trapped in Arken when the Border was forged live here to escape the evil in the land... it doesn't work.

"Yeah! He and my grandfather were all I had." he sighed a little, "I never knew my mother. She died during my birth." His mother's death hurt but it wasn't like the death of his father. He never even knew his mother.

"I was never trained to use a sword, but I did learn to use a dagger." he smiled at her a little. The water was calling to him. He could feel it in his veins.

He stood up and stood on the stream's bank. "I have a special ability though." Some water rose from the stream as he commanded it. It streamed through the air and stopped in front of Xhaila's face. He shifted into the form of his own face and spoke through it. "I can control water...well I can a little." The water glided through the air and went back into the stream.

Xhaila smiled, entranced by the simple magic that he used. She sat up and watched him with sparkling eyes, a few strands of loose silver hair falling in her face.

"That's really neat," she said. "I don't know any magic. I have to rely on weapons." She laughed lightly as she looked at him, and for some reason, she didn't want to look away.

He held her gaze smiling. There was something about her. Her eyes glistened in the sunlight. She was a beautiful young woman and he felt himself wanting to get to know her.

"Well...um ... Shall we get moving?" He finally suggested still holding her gaze.

"Sure," she said, putting her shoes back on. She stretched her arms and legs before standing up to her full height, occasionally glanced at Cainon. She noticed how he seemed captivated by her just as she was by him.

"Now, let me think of where we should go first..." she said, her eyes diverted away from him as she thought it through.

((Hmm.... Where shall we go? Or should they just walk around here and talk for a little while? Doesn't matter to me.))

(It doesn't matter where we go. It's all the same to me. :D )

He thought for a moment, "Hmmm..... Maybe we should start in the Ashgrown Forest," he suggested.

He looked up into her eyes and waited for a reply.

"Okay," she said. "At this point, you know more than I do, anyway."

She smiled at him and pushed back some of the loose silver strands that had fallen in her face. Now, that her blue eyes were more visible, the gave him a soft, gentle look, one of confidence.

"To the Ashgrown Forest then," she said rather happily.

Cainon smiled in agreemant and nodded. The day was growing old and night was on its way. There was a slight chill in the air right next to the stream.

"Shall we stop for the night?" he asked hinting towards the setting sun. "We could travel through the night if you like?"

He stopped and squatted down at the creek bank. He stuck his hands in the water and scooped up a mouthful.

"I guess you have a point there," she said, now noticing the setting sun. "Yeah, we ought to rest and be prepared for tomorrow. Besides, I'll be grumpy if I dont get any sleep."

She laughed lightly and sat down under a tree, removing her shoes and letting her hair down. She ran her fingers through her long, silver hair, getting out any tangles. "Don't try anything on me while I'm sleeping," she joked.

"Huh," he responded unexpectedly. He took the joke seriously. " I would never... Why would you think..." He got rather defensive. He would never do anything like that and he felt insulted that she would even think he would.

He calmed himself down and cleared his head. They did just meet a little just earlier today. He found himself a place to lay down a few feet from her. "Good night" he said without turning back around to look at her.

SHe would have apologized and said she was joking until he told her 'Good night.' "Oh... Good night," she said back.

She felt rather guilty for joking with him. Poor thing... she thought to herself as she laid down and got comfortable. She looked back at him to see that he was facing away from her. She sighed to herself and went to sleep. I'll apologize in the morning.

Cainon woke up before daylight. He looked over across from him and saw Xhaila still sleeping. He didn't disturb her.

He got up and went to the nearby stream. He splashed the brisk cool water on his face. He dried it with his shirt and walked back to the campsite.

He thought about the way he had reacted last night and felt rather bad for overreacting. He was just tired and ready for bed, and the fact that she would even think of such an accusation. They had just met though and they didn't really know each other.

He sat down and built a small fire. The morning air was rather chilly.

Smelling smoke, Xhaila opened her eyes. She stretched and looked towards Cainon and realized that the smoke the smelt was coming from the fire he had built. She smiled sadly as she remembered the night before, still feeling guilty about what she had said.

She got up and walked over to him. Sitting down next to him, she sighed and glanced up at him. "I'm sorry about what I said last night," she said quietly. "I know I sounded like I was accusing you of being a pervert, but I was just joking. Sorry."

He turned his head towards her and smiled."It's okay. I shouldn't have overreacted." His attention fell back on the meat he was frying up.

"Would you care for some bacon?" he asked taking the pan from the fire.

"Uh huh!" she said happily, breathing in the scent of the bacon. "Thanks, Cainon."

She gave him a bright smile and drew his knees up to her chest and hugged them, the morning breeze being quite chilly. There were a few tangles in her long, silver hair, and the light wind only made it worse. She laughed lightly as the wind blew a long strand in front of her nose, tickling it.

After giving her a piece of the bacon he laid the pan on a smooth-top rock. He took a piece for himself and stood up. He stretched his arms and smiled.

"Did you sleep well?" he asked sincerely.
