Elena sat down in the on the floor with the puppy. She laughed when he made a soft barking sound and nipped at her. She rolled him around on the floor and he pounced up on her legs, then crawled up to where he could lick her chin.

She giggled and laughed and played with the puppy in such an innocent and beautiful fashion. The puppy just bounced around her, pawing at her legs and hands when they came close to him.

Airen laughed at Elena and her childish play. He slid down from the couch to sit beside them. He tossed the young pup around and played with it a little himself.

As he sat there though, he could feel something burning inside of him. Something he couldn't explain. He could feel it eating away at him little by little. It scared him. He had noticed how the strength of his power had grown immensely over time.

Something bad is goin to happen. Airen could feel it in his blood. It chilled and burned him at the same time.

Elena yawned tiredly climbed up on the couch to watch Airen play with the puppy. She laid down on her side, resting her head on one of the pillows and watching him.

She was getting sleepy finally and she sat up so she wouldn't fall a sleep.

"Airen," she yawned. "I'm going to go back to sleep... Okay?" she asked, standing up and shuffling towards the bed room, going through the open door way, still in sight of Airen, and climbing back into there large feathered bed.

"Okay," he murmered keeping his attention on the dog and the burning that dwelled deep within him. "I'll join you in a moment."

Airen stood up and walked to the kitchen to give the dog a bowl of water. The pup followed snapping and tugging at his ankles the whole way. "You're a fiesty little devil, aren't you?" he said shaking the puppy off of his leg. He sat the bowl down on the floor and the dog drank admirably.

Airen took a glance out the window, but found eveything dark and shapeless. Something just didn't feel right. He casted away his crazy thoughts and went back to bed. He had left the puppy lying on the kitchen floor where it had found a spot to rest.

He laid an arm over Elena kissed her gently on her head. "Good night," he whispered, closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep.

Elena had already fallen a sleep and felt nothing of his kiss or heard any of his words. She was deep in a far away land where her dreams were peaceful.

They came in the night, late in the night where no one would be awake to stop them or warn anyone.

From house to house they went, doing what most armies did when they were taking over a town. It was a small army from Arken that had been sent to take over the Border, and this tiny town had just come into view.

They came in silently and stealthy, sliding there swords through the crack in the door to slide open the wooden lock. They came into Airen and Elena's room, making hardly any noise at all.

The largest one motioned for three to go around to the other side of the bed that Airen was on and the other two stayed on the side that Elena was on.

The soldier nodded to the other three and all at once they grabbed Airen and drug him from his bed before he could even get to awareness.

Elena felt the sudden movement and distress of the situation as Airen was drug violently from the bed and the soldier lashed out at her when she screamed, having only seen black clad figures with helmets shaped into the faces of demons.

He knocked her towards the other side of the bed, but when she went to role off he grabbed her arm and jerked her back towards him.

All Elena could think about was Airen and trying to protect the child that was growing inside her. She kept one arm subconciously wrapped around her waist as if that would provide some form of sheild for the baby.

Lenna was asleep beside a tree just outside of town when something suddenly awoke her. "Something's wrong," she thought, looking around with anticipation. In the distance she saw torches walking from house to house. There were about five or six bandits. They entered one house and then another. What were they doing? Raiding...or ...killing??? Lenna didn't wait to find out. She put the quiver laying beside her on her back, picked up the bow and stood up all in one single motion. She hurried into town and tryed not to be noticed by anyone that could possibly be awake.

Lenna followed them to a couple of houses and watched to see who or what they were and what they were up to. They were soldiers from the Arken Border, clad in black armour and helmets. They looked Demonic and Lenna knew Shea sent them to this town,...but ...why?

The next house they went into was small and quaint, a nice little cottage. They spent a while in there. She gazed in through an open window. Lenna watched as they made their way through the house undisturbingly. It was finally time for her to do something. She noticed the woman was pregnant and that they had both been caught asleep. How unfair!! Lenna was disgusted.

She crept into the house and got as close as possible without being noticed and hide behind a large, heavy trunk set aside. She set an arrow and drew back her bow. She had to be accurate.

Airen ahd been caught in utter shock. He didn't have time to grab his swords. All of a sudden, he felt one of the "men" lose his grip. He stomped the others foot and elbowed him itno the gut. The third one released slightly, and Airen spun and connected his fist to his nose.

Airen rolled across the floor to get to his sword. He froze momentarily when he saw another woman with a bow in the dark shadows.

He quickly turned and released Elena from the evil demons grip. He stood the, sword in hand, preparing himself for the remaining attackers.

Two of the men that had seized him had stood up and were ready for battle. The other was still lying on the ground motionless. Airen didn't know what had happened to him and didn't really care.

Elena sat on the bed in a kneeling position. She wasn't that far along. Only about a month, closer to a month and a half. She still held her stomach as if it was further a long. It had become an absentminded reaction.

She watched Airen to make sure he wasn't secretly attacked by anyone. Its when she noticed the woman standing in her living room. Her breath caught in her throat and she stared wide eyed, worried that she might be shot. But, even more worried that Airen might be shot.

The room was so dark and black and haunting. Why would someone attack her and Airen in the middle of the night. She glanced to the window and noticed people running around outside now.

The soldiers must have gotten impatient... They were now running wild as those in houses escaped them.

"Airen..." she said worriedly when one of them stopped at there bedroom window with a torch, peeking in at them. Her attention turned back to the woman in the darkness just as the two soldiers in the room went to attack Airen, and another was coming through the door behind the woman in the darkness.

Lenna saw the shock and fear in the couple's eyes. She hoped they wouldn't judge her too quickly and trust her in this moment of fear and battle. She heard a board squeek behind her and spun around without a second's thought and let the arrow fly.

The demon was down on the floor in seconds, moaning in agony. He was finished off, so Lenna turned back around loaded another arrow and let it take down one of the "men" that was attaking the husband. Bow still in hand, Lenna rushed over and attacked the other demon attaking him. She kicked him in the back of the knees and he fell to the ground. She pulled a dagger from her belt and slit the demon's unadorned thoat. Blood gushed out onto the floor. He was done for. Lenna noticed the demon in the window and pulled out yet another arrow, loaded the bow and let it go. The arrow propelled through the window with great speed and force. It lodge between the creature's eyes. Lenna saw the startled young woman in the corner of the room as the torch's light disappeared outside the window, "We've got to get out of here!"

Elena climbed off the bed quickly and ran to Airen, wrapping her arms around his waist and hugging him tightly. She didn't know the woman, but she had helped them. Maybe they should trust her.

"Airen," she said softly. "What do we do? This is our home now... I don't want to leave our home!"

She didn't want to leave it. She was happy here with a house and a place were good people lived.

Airen was surprised at the woman's fighting ability. He was gald that she had showed up or he and Elena may very well be dead.

He looked out the window and saw the army moving through the village. the torches lit it up as if the sun were rising. He glanced over at Elena and then at the new mysterious woman who stood across from them.

"I don't know what to do," he muttered. He stared at the newcomer for a moment but the outside light drew his attention back to the window.

He pulled Elena close to him and asked the young woman,"Can you help us escape?" He didn't know if he could trust her but they couldn't stay here. She did save them.

The puppy walked in behind her and ran over to Airen and Elena.

Elena rested her head against Airen as he held her in his protective embrace. She was so angry at the moment at nothing ever going right. She wanted to stay in her home.

"No!" she said loudly. "I don't want to leave..." She stooped to pick the puppy up and held him in her arms. "I don't want to leave our home!"

She thought for a moment.

"They won't kill us... because Shea wants our baby... She won't risk losing that... They won't hurt us..." she didn't know for sure. She was just trying miserably to reason in her head a way for them to stay.

Lenna let one tip of her bow rest on the ground, and put one hand on her hip. The two were cute together and seemed to be very much in love. "I can help you escape, but I'll do it only if both of you want to go. I'm not leaving one without the other," she stated flatly.

The army seemed to be clearing now, but Lenna knew they'd make one last round before leaving. They were here for something and they wouldn't leave until they got what they wanted. "If I leave and you come with me, we'll take the uncharted paths out of the forest. If you want to stay, I'll stay here until the coast is clear, if ya'll don't mind. But I personally don't want to meet up with those guys anymore. The choice is yours."

Airen looked at Elena. He knew that she didn't want to leave but they couldn't risk staying here.

"We can't stay here," he said, "It's too much of a risk." He saw the disagreeing look on Elena's face and added, "I'm sorry Elena."

Elena looked at him with a defiant expression. "But, I don't want to leave this home! I don't want to leave this place..." She held the puppy tighter.

"I don't want to go!"
