LORE: Dreamer's Dream

The shores of Ighten are beautiful beaches with white sand, palm trees, shacks and houses with people that live along it. It's also an easy way for Arken people to enter Ighten, since it is more or less unguarded. Sometimes wrecked ships wash ashore.

LORE: Dreamer's Dream

Post by Corinth »

The sky's last tears dripped from the eaves of Arianna's bedroom window. The beach had suffered a devastating storm earlier in the morning before dawn. The fragrance of bacon and syrup permeated the upstairs loft that operated as Arianna's bedroom. The nanny must be cooking breakfast. Arianna, unfortunately, didn't have the appetite to eat.

Last night was horrible! When she tied to run-away from her father's opressive hand, she was immediatly caught and turned around in her own footsteps. Her father charged after her on his black stallion while she was walking down the road leading out of town. He brought her back home and yelled at her, telling her how much she should be proud of and how she was being selfish. Yes, she was being selfish. She didn't want to spend the rest of her life living in this one-horse town being just a rug weaver. She loved her papa and was proud of him for doing the best he could. However, when he took her to Lowight, her dreams of a better life took flight.

Lowight was a beautiful city. The place was where a princess would live. Arianna's father traveled there when she was about ten years old, and mistakenly he took his little girl with him. He had to replace the palace's broken window with one of his artistic works. While there Arianna fell in love with the place. She wanted to live there!

Arianna walked downstairs and out the front door. Her father left after he got her back home for Lowight once more. Who know why he made so many trips there?. The air was damp with the recent rain and smelled of the salty sea. The wet sand pressed between her toes for, of course, the ground was wet after the rain. Gulls raised in the sky once more and sang their sad song of hope for tomorrow. The waves crashed on the shore wearing white caps. Arianna stood there as the wind blew her hair and skirt. It caressed her face with its coolness. Would this day get brighter?
