Emora:
The tall towers of Arroes loomed in the horizon as the pale glow of the moon filtered down. It was always night in Arroes save three hours each day. No one knew the exact time. The only way to know when an hour had come and gone was to listen to the bell that came from the top of the Queen’s Palace. In the very center of Arroes. Every hour it rang and you counted the bells to make sure you stayed on time.
The gates to the port city were open and on either side there were two tall Ishtassy Guards clad in black armor. The Ishtassy were a fierce fighting race that no one dared to challenge unless they had equal or better skills. Even if you had luck on your side you would still loose.
The glared at them as they passed through, halting Dimacar and asking for a visa (OOC: Not like we use in our world.) and he showed it too him with out putting up any sort of fight.
They road on through the city until they came to a castle surrounded by a ten foot wall with a small courtyard that was being rebuilt do to an attack that had caused some damage. The metal gates opened when the guards recognized the carriage to belong to Lady Deadry of Darkwood.
Guards, handmaidens, and the lord himself exited through the large wooden door that led into the ancient castle. He ran to them to greet his bride, and further his wealth and influence.
“Dimacar! So good to see you! And how is my bride to be?”
“My lord…” Dimacar began and dismounted. “I have some bad news…”
“Yes, yes, out with it!” the lord said. He was a round man, rather short and plump with sunken black eyes.
“We were attacked by a large group of demons… and… Lady Deadry was assassinated,” Dimacar said looking down. He felt as if it were his fault. He was supposed to protect her, not let harm come to her. And he had failed. He deserved punishment.
“What…” Lord Vane asked and tilted his head, narrowing his eyes. “She’s dead?” And so began a series of vile words that came from the mouth of the rich lord. He glared at Dimacar… “And you four are the only that are left?”
“No my lord… there is an injured woman in the carriage along with the body of my Lady. She needs medical attention,” Dimacar said and walked towards the carriage.
“Fine, get what you need…” Lord Vane muttered and folded his arms. “Are you sending the body back to her father or burying it here?”
“We will burn it upon a pyre,” Dimacar said and raised his head. Dimacar stepped into the carriage and back out holding Elena in his arms. She was still out and the loss of blood didn’t help.
The lord at first thought Elena was Deadry with the same clothes and the same hair. “Airen take Elena to the hospital wing.” The lord arched his eye brow and glanced towards the man Dimacar called Airen.
Dimacar handed Elena to Airen. Her eyes opened slightly and she groaned. "Wha...." she faded off as her half closed eyes looked around. "Airen?" She slowly faded off again.
"This way," a woman dressed in white said and directed Airen in the building. She showed him into the hospital wing and motioned for him to lay Elena on one of the empty beds.
She shewed him out and closed the door quickly. The healer went about removing the see-through jacket and then the small top she wore. There was a curtain pulled around Elena and the healer as she worked so no one could view Elena with out her top on. The woman went about cleaning the wound and sewing it up. It looked nice and clean when she was finished and shecovered Elena up from the shoulders down so no one could see her. She draped the jacket and top over a chair next to the bed and took the articals she had used to dress the wound away on a tray for cleaning.
She walked ot the door and opened it. "You can go in with her. She will come awake soon I supose... Her blood will start to replenish itself now that the wound is closed."
Emora:
The candles flickered lightly around Elena. She groaned and her eyes flickered opened. Everything around her was blurry. Above her this large dark shadow loomed. Her eyes slowly focused and she saw the figure above her, grinning maliciously.
"Hello, beautiful..." the familiar demon said, his silver like teeth sparkling.
Elena went to scream, but his large hand came down and covered her mouth as his arm slipped down and under her back, lifting her up slightly. She felt cold air on her chest and she looked down to find the nurse hadn't replaced her top. Elena took the covers and held them to her quickly and started squirming.
"Shh... Wouldn't want your boyfriend to know I was here... Besides he's about to have his hands full..." A strange abnormal gust of wind blew through and all the candles went out, leaving Elena in the dark with the demon.
It brought his face close to hers and grinned, leaning closer and closer until Elena closed her eyes because he was centimeters away from her. She felt his tongue slide against her soft cheek. "Mmm.... you taste good. Mother always told me not to play with my food... but I could make an exception for you... Besides, I owe your boyfriend a little torment... He left a nasty wound."
Elena's violet eyes stared at him in terror. She started screaming, but his hand deafened the sound.
"Shhh.... He's not going to hear you, so you might as well be quite..."
The curtain moved a side and the tall then demon that had been outside the Inn when Airen had turned evil stepped in and smiled at her. He lifted a cluster of strands of her hair and smelled it. Elena clutched the sheet closer to her chest and closed her eyes.
Airen! she screamed in her head...
Airen:
Airen stood outside the door giving Elena a moment alone to grasp everything that had happened the past couple of days. He reached out and pushed the door open. To his surprise Elena was gone. He scanned the room cautiously. Something wasn't right. He got that same strange feeling that he had before the demon attack. He pondered a moment, trying to figure out where she had went because there was no other exit in the room . A flame blazed fom his hand as he snooped around the room searching the dark corners. As he made his way closer to the back corner a horrid stench filled the air. Airen knew that something bad was about to happen but proceeded to the corner. All of a sudden, Airen feels something pound into his chest and he goes flying across the room, hitting and cracking the wall. Airen sits up shaking his head wondering what had just happened. He lifts his head and looks up in the confusion and into the light steps a large demon. It was the one that Airen had given Elena to at the inn.
" Shadowbane!" Airen growled, " Where's Elena? If you have hurt her, it is going to be your head." Airen stammered as he stoood up.
"Don't worry, I'm not the one that's going to hurt her," Shadowbane replied," He is." He pointed behind Airen. Airen turned around and right beside him stood his father. Airis boted his fist ito Airen's side and Airen went soaring again.
"You stole my sacrifice."Airis said calmly making his way towards him," Somebody's gotta pay. You know I really hate that you won't join with me. Together we could rule over all. We could join Shea and take rule over all of Heirot, but we need more like you and me."
Airen lifted his head and blood was running from his mouth. His vision was blurred from the impact but he did notice another figure standing beside Shadowbane. He wiped at his eyes trying to clear them. Finally, he could see. It was the demon that he thought he had killed. In front of him he held Elena with one of his nasty hands over her mouth.
Airis walked up to Airen and bent down. "Now I'll give you one more chance," he said," Join me or die. Airen spit the blood on his face and tried to stand. Airis struck Airen across the face with his fist, knocking him back to the floor," So you hve chosen death. So be it."
Airis walked over and grabbed Elena from the demon,"Kill him!" He walked out dragging Elena behind him. Airen reached out to Elena but couldn't reach."No! Don't do this"
"Shut-up" Shadowbane snarrled and he moved towards him.
Emora:
Elena was screaming for them to stop hurting him. But, the demon's hand over her mouth caused her not to be heard. She clutched the sheet to her bare chest with one free hand while the other pulled on the hand around her mouth. She wished she had her top on... She felt so exposed with the sheet wrapped around her.
Elena's long slightly curly golden hair was matted and unbrushed looking, strands spilling over in front of her beautiful face. Her bright violet eyes stared at the scene in shock, sadness, and anger.
When Airis grabbed her and began walking she tried to pull away, but she couldn't He was holding her to tightly, painfully tight. "Let go of me!" she screamed and pulled on her hand, holding the sheet firmly to her chest as he dragged her. "Please, let go!"
Elena stumbled slightly, but caught her footing as he dragged her from the room. "AIREN!"
Airen:
Airen sighed as Elena was pulled from the room. Partly from relief from her leaving the room and partly out of sadness, feeling that he had failed her. He struggled to stand but had trouble. He fell back down and groaned with pain. Three ribs had been broken from the impact. He sat motionless for a moment and began to heal himself. Shadowbane and the other demon who was reffered to as Dron conversed about how they would kill Airen.
They turned back to Airen and smiled. Airen slowly lifted his head and smiled back."You should have killed me a while ago." he said. He stood up and wiped the blood from his mouth. Airen noticed that Shdowbane carried the sword that he had given to Elena at his hip. Airen nodded toward it,"I'll be taking that back."
"Over my dead body," Shadowbane replied drawing the sword .
" Alright!" Airen said," Whatever you say." With that Airen unsheathed his own sword and it caught ablaze. Fear crept into the demons. They knew that Airen was the son of their own master and that he possessed the same might. The only difference was that Airen was driven by love and Airis by hatred.Airen noticed this fear and smiled.
Shadowbane lunged at Airen with his blade. Airen side stepped and sliced him in the gut. Shadowbane fell to the floor in in pain. The unique thing about Airen's sword was that once it cut you it continued to burn. As it burned it got hotter until the body was enflamed and burned to ash. "There is no hope for him, now." Airen stated to Dron," In a moment he will be nothing but a pile of ash. But I'm giving you a chance to extend your life for a little while longer. I want you to help me to kill my father." Dron looked at Shdowbane and then back at Airen. He thought a moment. He noticed that he had know weapon of his own and all that it would take was one slash from Airen's blade to kill him. He also knew that if he helped Airen and they were to fail that Airis would have no mercy on him
"Aaahh..." His thoughts are interrupted by Shadowbane's cries of pain. "So what's it gonna be?" Airen asked as he began to slowly lift his sword.
"I will help you." Dron replied," I never liked Airis anyway."
"Now, where did my father take Elena?"
" To Dinfar. I will lead the way." Dron took one last look at Shadowbane and then turned and went on his way, leading Airen to Airis's underground city.
Emora:
"Your hurting me!" Elena screamed as he pulled her down some dark corridor. She had no idea where they were going. They came in to a large busy place under the ground... Elena looked around, gasping. An underground city...
Airis turned his head and looked at her, then snatched her forward. "Come," he ordered and drug her further into the city. He drug her painfully to a temple. Once they reached it Airis took her into a room filled with steam. Airis grabbed Elena by both her arms and drug her to stand in front of him.
Airis grinned and tilted his head. "Well, you'll be seeing my son in the afterlife soon..." He said looking her over. He pulled her forward and Elena spit in his face. "What is it with you people in doing that..." He reared back and slapped her across the face with the back of his hand. She fell to the ground and he did it again. "Your screaming is really starting to annoy me...."
He grabbed her roughly by her arm and drug her to her feet, her lip was bleeding. He put his hand to her face. "I bet he died slowly.... screaming your name too..."
Elena winced as he ran his hand over her swore cheek. "Let me go..." she whispered.
Airis shook his head calmly with a grin. "No." His hand trailed down her neck and grabbed her sheet, then snatched it away. As quickly as he had pulled the sheet away from her he shoved her backwards into a deep tub of oiled water. Elena came up gasping for air, her arms wrapped around her. “Lovely…” he said with a smile.
Airis looked to two woman. "Bath and dress her.... Make her ready for sacrifice..." The two women nodded.
A few hours later Elena was led from the room wearing a revealing white gown that flowed around her when she walked. Her long golden hair was washed and cascading down her back in shimmering curls. Elena tried her best to get away. She bit one of the guards walking her out and went to run away. Airis was walking behind her and she didn't know it. He was dressed in clean robes... guessed it had something to do with the sacrifice. He slapped her hard again, harder than last time, leaving her dizzy. Her knees buckled and Airis caught her in his arms, carrying her the rest of the way and placing her upon the alter that stood in front of the large statue of the God of Fire, Gargon. The hooded priests attached chains to her wrists and ankles holding her to the stone alter. Elena struggled but couldn't get free.
The priests began to recite the ritual as Airis stood over her, looking down at her, gripping a dagger in his hand. He was smiling wickedly. He looked too much like Airen… She hoped he was alright… But, both of those demons were very big and evil…. And he was hurt….
Airen:
Dron walked into the sanctuary where they were begining the sacrifice. He slowly made his way towards Airis,"Sir! We have a problem" Airis turned and looked at him dicustingly.
"What is it?"Airis answered.," What could possibly be so important that you have to interrupt my sacrifice cerimony"
"Sir! Your son has escaped and he is here. The temple guards are dead and so is Shadowbane."
"Yet you are still alive...hhmmm... how did you manage that?" Dron looked around the room and stopped as his eyes fell upon Elena.
" I.. I ugh...I tried to attack him but he...." Dron fell to the floor in a heep of his own tainted blood. Airis had drove the dagger deep into his stomach ripping his insides apart. " Find him and kill him," he commanded his guards. The guards marched out of the room. " Take her to my chamber until I see ths boy dead." All four of the guards heads went flying back into the sanctuary. Airis looked at the heads distastefuly." If you want something done right you gotta do it yourself" he mumbled to himself. He walked out into the middle of the shrine. "Show yourself coward."
Airen stepped out from behind a great pillar sword in hand. "You will pay for what you have done." he said. Airis grinned and chuckled at the remark. He reached down and pulled the dagger from Drons corpse.
"Do you really think you can stand against me?" Airis remarked. " You know we're not so different. After all you are my son. You don't yet understand the persuit of power ,but you will If you live long enough."
"I'm nothing like you. And I'm not your son. I have no father. I may have been concieved by you but I'm nothing to you."Airen strided towards him. " This is going to end here. There will not be another meeting between us."
"Let's see whatcha got" Airis stepped away from the dead corpse. The two were now close enough for a dual. Airen luged at Airis. Airis dodged the attack and stuck the dagger deep into Airen's chest. Airen collapsed to the floor holding his chest. Blood gushed from the wound and from his mouth. He gasped for air but was having trouble finding it. " That's it. That's all you've got. Bring the girl back in and chain her up. I want you to watch this." The priests brought her back in and chained her. Airis walked over to her and pointed at Airen." See what you made me do. If it wasn't for you mine son would have joined me in my plan." Airen turned his eyes towards Elena. Then he was motionless.
Emora:
Elena beat against the door to Airis's chamber and screamed. It wasn't long before the guards brought her back out. She was kicking and screaming. But, when she saw Airen lying, bleeding on the floor she stopped her kicking and her screaming. Her eyes grew wide... and her mouth opened in a gasp.
The drug her as she walked numbly to the alter and laid her upon it. She stared at Airen. No... No it couldn't be... "Airen! No! No not Airen!"
She stared at Airis as he spoke to her... Blamed it on her. "If you wouldn't have acted so harshly too him.... caused him to be possessed, took me as a sacrifice, maybe he would have joined you! You didn't have to...."
Elena stared at Airen as a tear rolled down her cheek. he was dying.... Oh, he was dying! She looked him in the eyes and wished more than anything she could hold his hand... kiss him one last time before they both die.
"You know what they say, that virgin sacrifices become whores in the afterlife..." A priest cackled and lit the candles around her.
Airen:
As Airen lied there and listened to Elena's cries, the wound began to close. It healed completely leaving only a scar. A scar that would remind him of this day for the rest of his life. Airen gabbed his sword and stood up. The priest were finishing the last part of the ritual and Airis had the dagger raised high in the air. Airen strode over to Airis. When Airis turned around Airen drove the sword through his father's stomach. Airis dropped the dagger and gazed upon Airen in amazement. "It seems I have underestimated your power." Airen couldn't stand to look at him anymore. The sword came out of Airis's head splitting him in half. Airen turned to the priests, "Unchain her, and if you want to live I suggest you live my city." The priests quickly listened to what he said. Airen hugged Elena tightly and began kissing her, "I love you so much. I'm so glad this is over. I thought I was going to lose you." A tear ran down his face as he held her.
Emora:
Elena flung her arms around Airen's neck and hugged him tightly. "I... You were bleeding... How... I thought you were dead..." she whispered and kissed him, curling up on the table in his arms as he stood beside it. "I was afraid... I didn't know what was going to happen... I didn't know what was happening to you...."
She looked at him, her cheek was bruised and her lip busted. Her shoulder was stitched up nicely. But, she looked tired. She was weak still from the loss of blood. But, even through that she still looked beautiful.
"Airen, I'm tired... I want to go somewhere safe with you... and just relax. I don't want to have to worry about being a sacrifice..." She hugged him tighter.
Airen:
Airen laid her across the table and pulled the clotjing from around her hurt shoulder. He gently covered it with his hand. " Just relax," he said softly. When he moved his hand the stitches were gone and the wound was healed. He the done the same thing to her face. "I'm sorry that you have had to go through all of this. It is all my fault. I should've never allowed you to come with me." He raised her back up and gently kissed her lips.
"We can stay here for a while. I don't think we will be bothered since I just killed the cities ruler. There is plenty to eat and we will have a nice place to sleep." They turned and made their way to the masters chambers. Before they exited the shrine, Airen turned around and blasted the statue of Gargon. "I hate that guy."
Emora:
Elena walked close beside him as the left, the statue collapsing and burning behind them. She looked around as the worshipers of Gargon freaked, screaming about the fact he would send his wrath to them.... That he would punish them... or the one who had distroyed his idle.
Elena didn't know if it was true that this god would send his wrath to them to punish them for destroying his temple... But, she guessed if it happened they could handle it... It seemed like Airen and Elena could handle most of the trouble that came to them....
Elena would just be happy to find a nice warm bed to sleep in, to rest. She leaned her head against Airen's shoulder as they walked.

"Aaaahhh," Airen jumps in the bed screaming in agonizing pain. It has been three days since Airen killed his father, and since that night the scar on his chest burned him to his soul. He had nightmares everytime he tried to sleep. He didn't want to belive it, but he knew what it was. The dagger that Airis had stabbed him with was cursed by the God of Fire, and he knew that the only way to end his pain was to kill Gargon. But how are you supossed to kill a god....
His thoughts were interrupted by Elena's worry and concern.

Elena was once again by his side in the night, her eyes weary and tired from the rutine she had adopted. "Airen," she said in her soft voice, nudging him gently. "Its okay..." she said, lying down with him and wrapping her arms around him, hopping her presence would sooth his nightmares. She didn't know if they would... but she wanted them to.
Airen tried not think about it, but everytime he closed his eyes he would see a blaze of fire amidst the darkness. He heard horrible screams and cries for help. 'where am I' he thought tho himself. The scar on his chest burning like the sun. He saw a monsturous shape making it's way through the flame.
The creature spoke out to him in a loud whisper" I will have you soon. It is your destiny to find me."
"Who are you?" Airen asked, but before the question was answered the darkness came flooding back and Airen is being shook by Elena.

Elena continued to shake him until he was awake. "Airen..." she said his name again. "Its okay, its only a dream..." She told him, a comforting smile forming on her beatufiul face.
She hugged him tightly, not knowing what else to do... She didn't know any way to comfort him, since she wasn't used to comforting someone over a nightmare...
"Want to tell me about it? I've heard that if you talk about nightmares you don't have them again..."

"I'd Rather not talk about it." 'It's bad enough just to think about it.'He thought to himself. He gently kissed on the forehead and got out of bed. Dawn seemed to never come anyway in this dark land.
He began putting on his shirt and pants. "Are you rested enough to head out? I'm tired of this wretched place." He asked Elena.

She would have told him no. In fact she hadn't got any sleep because of his screaming. But, if leaving meant that it would put his nightmars to an end she would leave half dead.
Elena walked to wards the chair that sheh ad drapped her cloak on. She was still in the sacraficial garbs that Airis had made her dress in. She didn't mind, as long as it wasn't being half naked like the other outfit that lady Deadry, rest her soul, had given her to wear.
"Where will we go?" she asked, combing her hair with her fingers, the curls getting slightly tangled.

Elena smiled as she pined the cloak. "I've heard that Ongoreth is a beatiful place..." she said, turning towards Airen. "And we won't be in Ighten so we won't be breaking any rules and we won't be in Arken so none of your fathers men can find us... We'll be safe in Ongoreth..."
She sighed. "I just don't know how we could get there..."
She sighed. "I just don't know how we could get there..."
"We will find a way. If ongeroth is where you want to go that is where we will go." He said proudly. "We will buy a nice piece of land and raise a family together." He grabbed his boots and sat down on the bed. After slipping on his boots he looked up at Elena and smiled. " What did I do to deserve something as beautiful as you." He said, thinking out loud.

Elena blushed and slipped on her slipper like shoes. "Raise a family..." she thought aloud, wondering if she would be a good mother or not. Things like that bothered her since she had never actually had to deal with children.
"Only two," she said, smiling as she stood up straight. "I don't think I could handle more than that..."

"First thing we're gonna do though is teach you how to use aa sword." he glanced at her beautiful face and smiled. "It's a lot of work looking out for you, but it's worth it." He takes her by the hand and they make their way out the door. As they enter the main hall of the palace, the worshipers of Gargon immidiately begin cursing them. Airen just holds Elena close and walks towards the door.

Elena looked around, making sure that none of the priests got a big head and decided to attack them. "Oh, making fun of the fact I get into too much trouble?" she asked him, smiling. "It isn't my fault," she told him.
She felt more comfortable once they reached the outside of the palace and were away from the Fire God's followers.
