Laya took ina breath quickly as she gazed at the unicorn, her hands in the water, gripping at the mud as her kimono began to become soaked from sitting almost in the brook. She gazed at the creature, unable to form words. She feared if she spoke he would run away. If she breathed to loudly he would dart off.
Why would such a pure creature approach something like me? she thought, letting out the breath she had been holding as her gray eyes ran over the beautiful face of the unicorn. Yet another tear slide down her smooth cheek.
She wanted so much to reach out and touch him... but she knew she couldn't. She was to vile to touch a creature so pure.

Telanis watched another tear roll of her cheek. He looked down and brushed the side of his soft face across her cheek, then rested his chin gently across her back. His feathery mane ruffled lightly in the breeze, tickling her face.

Maria looked around the kitchen, not having noticed that Laya was missing until now. "Oh dear, where did she get off to? Maybe she's in the yard?"

Laya closed her eyes as she felt his soft face against hers and the warmth... It was like he was hugging her.... or best he could do. She closed her eyes tighter and swallowed hard. She didn't want to cry anymore. But... this creature... There was something about it. She relaxed, keeping her eyes closed as she felt the breeze blow his fine hair against her glistening cheeks.
"Why do you not run from me?" she whispered softly.

Laya opened her eyes as she felt him bump her gently. She smiled and slowly, very slowly just encase... she reached up and stoked his neck gently amazed by the fact he allowed her to be near him... to touch him.
"They will come looking for me... I don't want them to find you. I don't think they'll hurt you. But, the ones who might come with them will..." she said talking to him as if he were human. She found it so easy to talk to him. She found him so calming.
Slowly she moved away, backing up out of the brook and slowly she rose. Horses were skittish to fast moving things. She didn't know if unicorns were the same.
She tilted her head, looking at him with her gray eyes. The breeze tossing her brown hair around her.

Kratos and Neko met in front of the house. Kratos saw that Neko was flushed, she had apparently run around crying out Laya's name to no avail. Her cheeks were red and she was breathing heavily... she was attractive...
'BAD THOUGHTS!!!!!' Kratos screamed in his head to make the bad thoughts go away. 'She is your sister you vile creature!!'
"I...didn't find....her" Neko gasped, not noticing her brother's inner turmoile. "Do you think she might've wandered into the woods again?"
"Wha-- MAYBE!" Kratos said startled. He rushed forward to the forest instanly calling out Laya's name. Neko stared after her brother like he was a moron.
"What the--?" Sighing, she ran after him.

Telanis watched her curiously as she touched his neck - it had been a long while since he'd been touched by a human. She was telling him that she needed to go back to her friends. He called back the memory of the two who had been with her when he'd encountered them earlier, and understood. At least she was smiling - the painful aura around her had faded for the moment.
He stood tall and watched her as she rose up and began backing slowly away. Telanis backed up a few steps as well, then turned back to his side of the brook and trotted off into the woods. Humans had their world, and he had his. He'd contented himself with this rule long ago, but it never quite settled with him. But there was no choice - involving himself with humans was far too dangerous. This was as far as he could go.

Laya watched him go away. She didn't want him to go away. She wanted him to stay... She wanted to stay, because he seemed to take away her pain. But, she couldn't stay. She would attract people what would try and hurt him.
So when he disappeared from her view she turned and began to walk back in the direction she had come. Faintly she could hear someone calling her voice, but for a long moment she didn't answer.

Kratos saw Laya through the tree's and waved to her.
"Hey Laya! There's food on the table!" he called to her and Neko grabbed him from behind. She glared at him.
"What the heck was wrong with you back there!?" she demanded of him. Kratos blanched.
"I--I was thinking.." he stammared and called out Laya's name again. HE was trying hard to get his mind off of his sister. 'I need to start seeing other women..' he thought to himself.

Laya couldn't bring herself to stop thinking of the beautiful unicorn. But, she guessed that it was a much nicer change than remanising on memories of Kron and his torments. She felt so much relief... but knew it wouldn't last long. She would probably never see the creature again and after a while she would surely begin to think again about her past. She knew it would take time to get over it.
But, she still was confused by why such a pure creature would approach her. She, who was a slut or a whore.... which over you would call... A slave that's only use was served in bed.
Laya lifted her hand and waved once, manuvering over a fallen log. She walked towards them. "I just need to get some fresh air and clear my mind..." she said, keeping her gaze on the ground until she reached them... glancing up.
"Shall we?"

Kratos smiled at Laya. Neko was still trying to figure out her brother.
"Do you feel better? They're waiting for us inside..." he said and starting walking towards the house with Laya and Neko.
"Pfft. Somehow I doubt that." Neko grummbled and Kratos turned on her.
"Why do you say that?"
"I just mean... I just don't like how they are hunting down a Unicorn, that's not fair placing the blame on a creature who only left because a group of stupid kids thought they could capture it."
"It's not our place to involve ourselves in their problems." Kratos said simply. He learned before not to dally with other's problems, especially since it never really involved him.

Laya walked towards the house. "For a while..." she said and nodded softly. She glanced at them as they spoke to each other but said nothing until they were finished.
"A unicorn is a sacred creature. They have no right hunting it. Even if it isn't your place... I will make it mine," she said with an even tone. "There has to be another explanation for the deaths of there animals." It was probably the most she had spoken since there meeting. Though, Laya was still feeling pretty worthless and trashy she still had the same feeling that she had to do what was right. That feeling may never die. It was the only thing that had kept her so strong at the beginning of her captivity.
Now that she was free it would slowly come back. Hopefully the rest of her courage would as well.
"I'm not asking you to help... since you might not want to get involved. But, I'd like to find out what’s doing it to these people. Because that beautiful creature should not have to worry all his life about what is going to attack him next. No one should have to worry all there life about when or where it will happen..." It was almost towards the end that she was talking about herself.

Neko blinked then 'haed!' at her brother.
"I think Laya's right." Neko said sternly. Kratos rolled his eyes.
"Then I'll shall be here to pick your butt out of the dirt..." he said plainly.
"Exactly--HEY! That's not fair. Come on Kratos! I know you know that what's happening here is wrong."
"Oh it is, I've just learned to keep my nose out of things, but you two are set on it... Just don't anger them so they run us out of town. People hate to change their idea's, and their idea is that the Unicorn is causing them pain. They lived by it for awhile so it'll be hard to stray them from it."
"You... say the weirdest things..." Neko said but took it as permission to try and stop these people. Kratos again rolled his eyes at his sister then looked at Laya.
"Are you sure you want to involve yourself in their problems? Once your involved it's unlikely you can ever take it back..." He told her truthfully. He was concerned for both of the women's well being, he'd watch their back for any danger. He just didn't want to go looking for trouble without a good strong reason.

Laya looked at him. She knew that was the truth. She had experienced it first hand. "I'm sure," she said and looked them both in the eyes. The Unicorn had given her the first feeling of peace she had had in a long time. She would do whatever she could to help him.
Laya had no intention of attacking the people of the village. She knew she could find a very rational way of handling the situation. As she head bck into the house she figured she would strike up a conversation about the number of visitors they had in the villages since the attacks and or the new residents.
Then she would pay the new people visits in hopes of finding at least one of them who acted suspicious. Even if it was risky Laya had gotten to the point where she didn't about her life. She didn't mind sacraficing it in the hopes that one good creature could live in peace.
