LORE: Cure for a Broken Heart: Part 3

The shores of Ighten are beautiful beaches with white sand, palm trees, shacks and houses with people that live along it. It's also an easy way for Arken people to enter Ighten, since it is more or less unguarded. Sometimes wrecked ships wash ashore.

Yuuna woke the next morning feeling warm. She opened her eyes and glanced down. A blanket was covering her up to her shoulders. The others were still asleep, well that's what she assumed anyway. 'I think I need a bath.' She thought to herself.

Yuuna stood up so did Starlight and began walking out of the cave, Yuuna walked no farther than the entrance but even then she could see that there had been heavy snowfall the night before. A few of the trees dropped a little snow onto the ground. Yuuna couldn't tell what time it was but assumed it was morning by the chill and the fact that she usually woke when the sun came up.

Starlight proceeded to walk out of the cave and down to a small patch of grass. In places where the trees were less dense she noticed that there was anywhere from three to six inches of snow on the ground. Yuuna took in a deep breath of air and began to look for a place where she could be alone with her thoughts.

On her way back she had found a long branch which she carved on, removing all the knots and what used to be small branches from the branch. The branch stood about three inches taller than Yuuna, she didn't know why she was carving on it, maybe she was bored.

Layla stayed warm through the night, but suddenly felt cold. She opened her eyes to see that snow had fallen overnight. She didn't see Yuuna, but she was too cold to go and look for her. She shuddered and cuddled against Jayden. She noticed that she was the only one in the cave that was awake, so she tried to go back to sleep. She had no luck because she was so cold.

Sen was out hunting. So far he had gotten two rabbits and a rather large bird. He was carrying them both back to the cave to skin and clean them when he absentminedly ran into Yuuna's little area. Sensing that she preferred to be alone he only called out good morning to her.

"Good morning Yuuna." Sen said cheerfully and kept walking.

"Huh?" Yuuna said, she had been lost in her own thoughts. "Oh, Good morning." Yuuna finished the staff my carving a rose out of the top. She picked up several sticks for an arrow and walk back to the cave.

Yuuna noticed that Layla was awake, "Oh Good morning Layla." She said lightly so as not to wake anyone else up that wasn't up already.

"Good Morning, Yuuna," Layla said back. She got up and ran to Yuuna. "Brr...I'm cold." She wrapped her arms around herself and looked up at Yuuna. "Are we going to build a fire?"

"Yes, I'll be right back. Wrap up in a blanket or something." Yuuna left the cave and gathered a bunch of fire wood. She returned to the cave, built a fire in the place where it seemed the best place.

Yuuna stepped back from the fire and raised her staff, she knew ONE magic trick. "Fire!" Yuuna said aloud. A flame jumped onto the wood and lite it. Yuuna smiled as the warmth filled the cave. She walked over to Layla and sat near her. She put her staff on the ground, "Layla, I wanted to give you something but I couldn't think of what until now." She pushed the staff close to Layla's hands.

Layla looked up and Yuuna with big, innocent eyes. "What is it? What does it do?"

Yuuna smiled at Layla, "It's a staff, I can teach you how to use it if you want Layla." Yuuna hugged Layla close to her heart, she didn't want to let go for some reason she was afraid and grateful at the same time.

She sang/whispered quietly
"No body knows who I really am, I never felt this empty before and if I ever need someone to come along, who's gonna comfot me and keep me strong?"
She paused then continued.
"tabi wa mada tsuzuiteku
odayakana hi mo tsuki wa mata
atarashii shuuki de ume o terashidasu
inori o sasagete atarashii hi o matsu
asayaka ni hikaru umi sono hate made"

Layla hugged Yuuna back and listened to the song she sang. She closed her eyes and listened to the words.

"No body knows who I really am, I never felt this empty before and if I ever need someone to come along, who's gonna comfot me and keep me strong?"

Yuuna paused, and finished the song, but Layla couldn't understand the rest of it. When she finished, she looked up at her. "What were you singing, Yuuna?"

Yuuna smiled at her, "It's called 'Life is like a boat.' I always thought it was a pretty song. I hope you learn to sing it one day as well."

Yuuna released Layla, stood up, walked over to Skye, shook her shoulder and asked, "Is there a way I can bathe this morning? The river is much too cold, is there a hot spring near by?"

Layla looked over the staff. "Hey, Yuuna! You think I could wack Jayden with it when she's mean to me?"

Jayden's eyes opened at the mention of her name. "What when I'm mean to you, Layla?"

"Um..Nothing!"

Yuuna looked back at Layla, "I don't think that she'd like that very much." She laughed at Layla, she covered her mouth a bit as she laughed.

OOC: We need to wait for Mizuki I think.

Skye awoke softly, sat up and rubbed her eyes. "Whaa?" she asked sleepily. Sen came in then holding his catch.

"Breakfast." he simply said. "Good morning everyone." Skye waved to him and Sen went to the back of the cave to skin and dress the game he had caught. From under Skye's blanket, Sparks poked up his head and sniffed the air. Skye petted him gently.

Layla ran over to where Jayden was still half laying down and placed the staff next to her. "Yuuna gave it to me. Now, get up, sleepy-head!" Layla tugged on her arm.

"All right. I am." Jayden said rubbing her eyes. "What'dya catch, Sen?"

"Rabbits, and a bird." he replyed as he skinned the rabbits. It was a very messy and bloody job. Skye grimmaced at the sound of ripping flesh, she never could take the blood and gore of hunting. Sparks tickled her with his nose and whiskers to take her mind away from it.
