Appearance: Chien is 6', has white hair that falls down to his lower back, and black eyes. Despite his hair color, he is only 30. He wears an open black coat that falls down to his knees. Under that coat he is shirtless and has loose black pants on. He wears his sword on his hip hidden under his coat, usually in the shape of a dagger.
Weaknesses: He is particularly weak against magic that attacks his will or spiritual power. Since his sword's size and quality ends up being dependant on that, if he loses any of it his sword cannot maintain itself. Also, he is not willing to harm anyone who he views as weak. That leads him to receive wounds from those people, though he may continue to refuse to fight them.
Biography: Chien comes from a small town on the far reaches of Heirot. A couple of years before he came Ighten to he was married and lived in his hometown. The sword he owned was a family heirloom and was used for the purpose of demon slaying, though it could be used to kill and cut through other things too, which the family had not needed to do for many generations. However, the eldest child of the family was taught to use the weapon in the case that the demons came back. Chien was that child. When he was twenty, he fell in love with a woman and married her. 5 years after that, an army of demons attacked the town. They had spent the last few centuries regrouping their power to take out the demon slayers that were left in the world. During the attack, Chien's wife and children were killed. The demon that killed them laughed, blaming the death on the demon slayer, since he was the target of the attack. In a burst of rage, he lost control of the immense amounts of spiritual energy he received from that emotion and his sword grew to such a size that it cut through the whole demon army. After that happened he was completely drained of his powers and his hair turned white. He entered a comatose mental state and his body just moved on its own, going through the motions of killing, eating what he killed, and other necessary functions of the body. When his mind awoke from that state several years later, he smelled completely horrible and did not know exactly what he ate. His clothing was also in tatters at that point. At that point he found himself in Ighten. His body had let him wander off extremely far. Now Chien continues to hunt and kill demons, seeing no other purpose in his life other than that.
Extras: He has a sword that will turn into any melee style weapon he wanted it to turn into, with limitations depending on his strength of spirit. He has a somewhat amiable personality and will get along with anyone if he needed to, but he is generally somewhat stoic and doesn't show any emotions. The stronger feelings such as anger or even the urge to protect someone boosts his spiritual power, but other feelings such as sadness may drop it. Also, depending on which of those strong feelings is experienced, he may lose control of his powers like in the case of the death of his family. The will to protect the ones you care for is the best feeling a demon slayer may have since they retain control of their will yet their spirits are boosted. That is why it is said that demon hunters are the strongest when they find someone to protect. He maintains a level emotional level because he does not want to risk the loss of control of his power. Chien has a strong sense of honor. He refuses to do anything that will go against it, such as attacking someone he believes is weaker than them and attack someone who has their back turned.
