Re: Lost
Caleb blinked at her. That was just about the strangest thing he'd ever heard, and this was coming from someone who turned into a marsupial by daylight. "That's unbelievable," he murmured, pulling back the last of the bandages. The skin around the wounds looked sore, but not infected, which was a relief. He wiped them very carefully with the ice and then let the air dry them off. "Is she evil, then? Some kind of rampaging monster?" He took some herbs from the bag he'd brought in and laid the leaves down lightly across the cuts.

"W-w-we like to keep our p-patrons' information confidential," the innkeeper stammered in response to the demon's demand.

"I don't know, we didn't get to live together long" Celeste replied. She closed her eyes "I just hope she isn't" Celeste yawned a bit "I wish I could see her again"
****
Yoruhana grit her teeth "What if I told you that Angel Is my Twin!?!" she growled, knowing by her gut that if she ripped the man's throat out Celeste wouldn't take it lightly, But her bloodlust thirst was making it's self known to her. "I need to know NOW!"

Re: Lost
"So...you were born as one child, as in...you were conjoined twins or something?" Caleb pressed, still not understanding. He'd read of such children being born, but not of any successful attempt to separate them.

Re: Lost
The inkeep stared at the demon, shaky and pale. He regretted the idea of turning over the gentle-seeming girl who had checked in earlier, but there was only so much he could take, and he wanted his establishment in one piece tomorrow. He licked his sweating upper lip and breathed, "Room eight. Just don't harm my other patrons."

Caleb's hands froze on the angel's back. His mouth had gone dry. "I'm sorry," he murmured. The thought of what she must have gone through made his gut go cold.
There it was again, that rash, impulsive need to somehow protect this person he'd only just met. It struck him, all at once, how unlike him this was. Making idle, personal conversation with someone. He was sitting in a hotel room with an undressed woman he barely knew. Seriously thinking about traveling with her on some personal mission of hers that he barely even understood.
This wasn't how his life worked, how he did things. Suddenly he was wondering if he'd missed something, if he'd somehow let his guard down. "Celeste," he said carefully, "You aren't using some kind of magic on me right now?" He hated the suspicion in his voice, but he couldn't avoid the doubts that were springing up.

Re: Lost
Caleb glanced back at the door as he heard it open. He had no idea what he was looking at, but one glance told him that the person standing in his doorway was not friendly. "Don't move," he warned Celeste, grabbing a metal candle sconce from the table beside the bed.
It wasn't a great scene to be caught in by an outside observer. Caleb looked a little feral with his long brown hair still untied since his transformation. His amber eyes narrowed coldly on the strange woman. "Whoever you are, I suggest you leave," he ordered. He stood up, putting himself directly between this invader and the naked and wounded girl on the bed.

Re: Lost
Yoruhana's emerald eyes widened, she glared at Caleb "Celeste, Who is this . . .Human?"
Celeste's eyes got big "Yoruhana?!? Don't hurt him!" she decided against sitting up "he's helping me . . ."
Yoruhana looked at her twin "you're hurt?" her voice was soft, worried. Celeste nodded.

Re: Lost
Caleb couldn't help but notice the way this newcomer said the word "human". He looked at her closer, noticing now the small silver horns behind her ears. The more the two of them talked, the more it sounded like they knew each other. An unpleasant theory was beginning to form, unspoken in the back of his mind. He turned a little to the side, so he could keep both of them in his field of vision. He no longer had to be concerned about being under some kind of trust spell. "Celeste, who is this?" he asked in a low, even tone.

Re: Lost
Caleb narrowed his eyes on the demon. She looked human in some ways - maybe she could even be considered pretty, by some men's tastes. But there was something harsh about her. It wasn't there now, but he wasn't naive enough to forget how dangerous she'd appeared a few moments ago. Like she could kill and enjoy it.
"I'm not seeking your approval," he responded to her coolly.

"I wasn't asking" Yoruhana replied, her fangs showing as she spoke. Yoruhana quickly turned to Celeste speaking in a foreign tongue. Celeste nodded, and replied in the same language, she sighed ans said something nervously and went quiet.
"It's amazing Celeste how easily you can get hurt. . ." Yoruhana mumbled in the common tongue "It's simply amazing"
"hey, I was asleep . . .It's not my fault" Celeste whispered.

Re: Lost
Caleb observed their conversation, feeling increasingly out of place. He had somehow assumed that as angel and demon, Celeste was estranged from her sister. But they appeared to be getting along. They even seemed close. Weren't demons...well, demons? He crossed his arms and assessed the two women. "Since you're here, do you know where the others are?" he asked Yoruhana.

Re: Lost
Caleb didn't know what to make of the demon's change of demeanor. Apparently she didn't know where their other siblings were, either. "Well if you're around, the others must be somewhere also, right?" he reasoned.
