Reining in the Centuar

This is the forest that covers most of Ighten in dense and thick trees. It is the oldest forest in Heirot, since most of the Forests in Arken have been destroyed. It is well known as a haunted forest where ghosts and demons reside. In the forest are many villages. The villagers will tell you tales of trees that eat people, gaint spiders, and dragon lairs.

Reining in the Centuar

Karne pranced about tossing his humonic head his ears flicking. He was headed to the stream but he was hesitant. The familiar trees and dirt were the same, but something made him feel uneasy.

He reeled about trying to decide if he should continue on or stay where he was. snorting he continued forward.

Valkyrie was in her true form, drinking contently from the pure waters of the smallish stream that she stood on the banks of. She side-stepped frequently to draw the weight off of her lame leg, nearly whimpering at the discomfort it caused her. It had been lamenting her more frequently as of late, and she had been restricted to this small area of the forest.

As Valkyrie drank, she heard a snorting that sounded like that familiar to a horse. She lifted her head, tossing her forelock from her face a bit and reached out with her mind. The presence she touched was unfamiliar, and not like that of a regular horse. Valkyrie sensed uneasiness from it, however, and send a message meant to be soothing:

Greetings, unknown friend. Do not fear; you are merely in the presence of a lone unicorn. No harm shall come to you. Valkyrie hoped that would calm the individual whom was approaching...

Karne stopped dead in his tracks puzzled by the voice in his head. what was it? He had never heard anything like it before, and it brought more unease. He didn't know what to do, or how to do it. He pawed the ground with a hoof and snorted again.

Valkyrie sensed that her comforting words had apparantly had no effect. This creature must not have understood my words, she thought to herself. She decided to go and greet it in person, hoping they would not be a threat to her. Valkyrie removed herself from the stream, walking towards the direction in which the presence seemed to be orginating from.

When the unicorn walked around the trees, she spot a big, black centaur stallion, standing there looking uneasy and worried. Valkyrie was confused - most centaurs had the gift of speech, did they not? Apprantely this one had been too flabbergasted by her mode of communication.

Hello, she began once more, I am Valkyrie. I apologize for not to speak aloud; I am unable in this form and I am too weak to take a humanoid one.

Karne's ears laid back and he continued to paw the ground, he didn't know what to do. He snorted and reared to run off but only turned in a circle. He looked at Valkyrie.

Valkyrie was confused as to what to do at first. This centaur was strange... she had met others and they seemed to not be frightened of her. They would even speak. But this one... Valkyrie wondered if this particular centaur was a rogue, or a loner, who did not understand speech. She thought about what to do.

After a moment, the unicorn lowered her head respectively, her horn nearly touching the ground as she did. Valkyrie wasn't sur if it was a good move or not. She hoped the centaur would understand then that she meant no harm towards him.

Karne stilled and breathing slowly his black mane falling near his eyes. He was puzzled this creature, he'd never seen anything like it before, But again his mother hadn't been around to raise him either. he reached to touch the strange creature when he drew back again.

Valkyrie's flesh quivered at the touch of the centaur. She raised her head once again to see him still looking wary of her. She gave a soft whicker, taking a tiny step towards the half-horse, half-man, keeping her eyes on him at all times. Valkyrie was a little concerned about an ambush attack from him.

If Valkyrie had been in her human form, she would have smiled. Instead, she gave a unicorn version of a laugh, sounding more like she was trying to whicker and was choking at the same time. She watched the centaur curiously then, too, her ears pricked forwards.

Valkyrie whickered softly, tossing her mane a bit. She sniffed at the centaur, and realizing he was of no threat, the unicorn turned back towards the stream. She glanced behind herself to see if the centaur would follow, or if he was still skeptical of her.

Valkyrie followed behind him, lifting her legs high as she marched through the water. It rose to her belly and she shivered a bit, but the coolness was comforting on her leg. She lowered her head a bit to drink, savouring it once more.
