(Lore) Recovering

Laya looked around the room and then her attention was drawn to the unicorn who seemed to be rather noisy and was inspecting the old man's belongings. She walked over to him and tugged on the cloak. "Um.. in the human world, you are not supposed to snoop through private property...." she said softly, glancing at the handle to the cupboard. "Why don't you have a seat and I'll see if he has any food we could fix..."

Laya turned towards the man sitting with his back against the wall. She looked at him for a long moment before walking slowly towards him and then kneeling. "Sir... do you perhaps have any food to spare for us?"

Tetsumaru was oblivious to Telanis while the former unicorn searched around his cupboards. "I havu somu durai meato inu ze cupboarudo," he said, pointing to the compartment under the dishes and pots that Telanis was rummaging through. "There izu also somu furuitsu ando berriezu in zere."

Telanis stopped investigating the cupboard at Laya's suggestion and observed she and Tetsumaru's conversation. When he suggested they find food in the cupboard, the unicorn looked down at it judgingly, less sure now of what was to be opened and what would indicate rudeness toward the humans.

Kratos looked over to them and was about to tell them something when his sister's soft snores broke his concentration. Neko had fallen asleep in the chair. Kratos rolled his eyes and asked if Testumaru had any blankets for his sister.

Tetsumaru pointed towards a closet, which was next to a suit of samurai armor on its stand. "I havu somu in zere," he said. "Oru you can puto heru on the bedo foru now. Nobody izu suleepingu now."

Kratos thanked him and went to the closet and grabbed a blanket. He draped the blanket across Neko's sleeping form and sighed as he watched her. He remembered her when she was a baby and how peacefull and like an angel she was when she slept.

Laya took out some meat, and figuring that Telanis wouldn't want any meat she pulled vegetables from the cupboard and she glanced to Telanis. "Want some of this?" she asked him to make sure, wanting to feed him something he would like.

Telanis looked at what Laya was holding, not sure what it would taste like, but curious about human food. "Yes," he said happily. He walked over to where Laya was, thinking she would hand him one of the vegetables to eat in his hands.

She looked around, trying to find a few plates for them to eat off of. She snapped off a peice of carrot for him and handed to him as she noticed a kettle. She didn't think that Tetsumaru woukld mind if she made some stew from what she had. She grabbed the pot and a knife and began to cut up things and placing them in the empty pot.

"Your not a meat eater are you, Telanis?" she asked him.

Telanis shook his head, wondering why Emora was putting the food in a pot before he remembered seeing humans do such things before eating. He held the carrot to his mouth and bit some off. He chewed it thoughtfully, and then his eyes widened. "What is this?" he asked her suddenly.

"Its a carrot." Kratos said from behind them. "A vegetable root that grows in the ground..." he trailed off thinking about their situation. "How long will we stay here... and what are we going to do about the villagers?"

"Ith you phfollow the phath along the shee, you should reash Lowight. You should be savf there," Telanis suggested casually after sticking the rest of the carrot chunk into his mouth and discovering that it didn't fit without puffing out both of his cheeks.

Laya cut the carrots and potatoes then placed them in the pot. She cut meat and onions and placed them in the pot to. Next she added some water. She didn't know where the spices were, she guessed they'd have to do with out. Next she hung to put over a fire.

"It shouldn't take to long... You can pick the meat out Telanis... unless you want to try it..." she said, a smile actually creeping onto her lips. It didn't quite make it, but it was close.

Kratos barely made out Telanis' words but he caught their meaning. He shook his head. "No. I seriously doubt my sister or Laya would want to leave you at this villages mercy."

Telanis finally managed to swallow the carrot, nodding at Laya's explanation of the meal. He noticed the hint of a smile on her lips and smiled himself. When Kratos spoke, his expression became more serious and he turned to him uneasily. "I want you to go on someplace safe. You've done more than enough for my sake already - I will be fine from here. I'm used to this life already," he smiled to convince them.
