Vlad slept well into the night. It was several hours from dawn when his senses finally returned enough for him to open his eyes. The first thing he saw was Tenele lying next to him, her slender body warm against his. The stunning pain he'd felt earlier had passed on into more of a dull ache that went through his bones and muscles. Not exactly pleasant, but it was such an improvement over earlier that he didn't mind much. He experimentally tried to move his wounded arm, and regretted it immediately, letting it hang still again at his side. He felt tired, like he could easily go under for another twelve hours without waking. But he also felt agitated from lying still so long, and it made him want to get up and walk around.
Using his elbow, he propped himself up into a sitting position, setting his teeth as his arm's weight pulled at his wounded shoulder. It was going to be longer than he cared to think about before that arm would be useful to him again, but he felt now as he sat up that at least the rest of him felt relatively fine. He looked down at Tenele, admiring her quiet form in his bed. Bending toward her, he placed the lightest of kisses on the top of her hair, then glanced away, a little embarrassed at his affection. Moving quietly in hopes of not waking Tenele, he stood from the bed and walked barefoot across the room, still wearing the cloak Sinead had loaned him. He didn't plan on giving it back. It was shredded beyond decency and stained dark with blood.
The vampire walked to the blown-out window that looked out on the city. Very few candle-lit windows could be seen. No one seemed to be out in the streets; those who had been made homeless by the dragonfire had been taken in for the night by others, and the men had agreed to wait for daylight to begin fixing the damage. The capitol was very quiet, boring even, and for once Vlad found it pleasant. A large moon shone in the cloudless night sky, unexpectedly bright. Vlad leaned against the inner edge of the window and just stared out, quietly observing the city.

The sound of rustling fabric could be heard as Tenele's form rolled under the covers. She was turning over onto her back, her arm falling from its place on her side and flopping over to where her subconcious memory had remembered Vlad to be a sleep. Her eyes fluttered open and she sat up groggily, glancing around the room before finally finding him leaning against a window.
"You should be in bed resting," she warned, shifting off the bed and standing on her small barefeet, glad that the glass was gone. She walked almost silently across the hard wood floor to come and stand at his side, taken in his dirty form. "You need a bath..." Then, again, so did she. Her finger tips ran up the middle of his back and back down again. Then she moved to the other side of the window oppoist of him and leaned against the cold stone frame, resting her cheek on the back of one of her hands.
"So quiet," she said thoughtfully. The moon light making her skin and hair glow.

Vlad glanced over at Tenele standing next to him in a pool of silver light. "The moon becomes you, my lady," he said, a bit startled by how striking she looked. He turned and suddenly drew her in against his chest with his good arm, breathing the familiar scent of her hair. It wasn't a sexual embrace, but there was intensity in it. "My arm's of little use, I doubt I could wash myself," he teased. "Unless you mean for me to let go of you and take a bath, which of course is unacceptable."

Tenele smiled up at Vlad, tilting her head to look at him. Her eyes roamed over his face for a moment and she said nothing, just enjoyed her body pressed up against his. Her hand moved his chest and his neck, then cupped his cheek.
"I'll help you," she told him softly with a playful wink. "Its the least I can do, since you saved me and all." A long moment passed and then with an exasperated breaht she said, " Again." Her head turned away to look back out the window, stands of silver shimmering like stands of spider silk. She cleared her throat and looked back at him. "I'll go draw up a hot bath. I don't feel like waking a maid to do it and it won't take but a minute."

Vlad caught her hand as she pulled away, drawing her back slightly. "Tenele, tonight you saved me." He looked directly at her as he said it, unusually sincere. He tensed and released her hand. That was all the wishy wash she was getting out of him tonight, he thought to himself unsuccessfully, his pulse beating in his throat. He didn't exactly like the fact that he couldn't have killed Lothos alone. If Tenele had taken action a few seconds later, or not taken action at all, he would have been killed. Vlad wasn't especially used to owing his life to people, but if it was Tenele, he could accept it. He could even thank her for it. There, done, new subject please.
"A bath sounds good," he said stiffly.

"Sit," she said pointing the bed. "I'll be back when the water is ready." She even pushed him back over to the bed and forced him to sit with a grin.
Then she turned, her dress ruffling as she walked, the open slit which had managed to get torn in the fight moved, reaveling a long slender leg. She left the room and returned a few minutes later.
"Alright!" She grabbed his good arm and pulled him to his feet, leading him down the staircase slowly. She knew that he needed to concerve his energy. The next room that they walked into was a dimly lit room. Filled with candles and lanterns the air was thick with steam and the sweet smell of bath oils. In the center of the room was a large oval tube that was built into the floor, big enough for 4 people, much less 2. It was rimmed with a cushion so one could lean their head back against it in relaxation. The water steamed up, filtering into the air around them.
"I didn't have to do much work. Just fill the tub with water." She stopped when they were about a foot from the tub and turned towards him. She let go of his hand and paused for a moment before slowly moving both hands towards the cloak that covered him. She tilted her head, looking him in the eyes as she slid the dirty fabric off his shoulders and it fell to the marble floor behind him.

Vlad drew a small breath as Tenele pulled the cloak back from his muscled skin and dropped it to the floor. He was quite comfortable standing naked in front of her, but her touch also brought with it other sensations that he didn't think his body was ready for at the moment. He reached out to her and ran the fingers of his good hand along her cheek, past the bite mark he was so proud of, to the collar of her dress. He walked around behind her, trying to undo the lacing on the dress with one set of blistered fingers. He didn't succeed very well, so he bit onto the string and gave it a firm pull. The knot slid apart and the dress loosened. "Better," he said, nudging it off of her shoulders so that the fabric fell to gather around her waist.
He leaned forward to kiss her cheek from behind her back. The movement brought his chest in contact with her back for a moment before he slid away again.

Tenele sighed as she let him under her dress. She leaned back against him when she felt his fairly warm skin. She shifted and the fabric fell from her hips, sliding down the length of her legs and pooled around her feet. She turned to face him, taking a step backwards into the tub. It had two short steps to make it easier to get in and out of the tub. She reached out and took his good hand, a seducing smile playing on her lips.

Vlad Followed her into the water up to his waist and stopped for a moment, letting the startling temperature blend to his skin. He submerged one of his hands and quickly drew it out. The hot water felt miserable on his burns, and he resolved instantly not to submerge his left shoulder. He followed Tenele the rest of the way in and slid to sit along the edge of the tub, resting his arms up on the edge behind him. His body started to acclimate to the temperature, and he let out a low sigh of contentment, tilting his head back luxuriously.

"Ooo.... Sorry, I forgo that hot water doesn't feel good on burned skin..." She said, kneeling down in the water next to him. She wasn't bothered by being naked next to him. He had seen her naked plenty of times and they were lovers so it didn't actually matter anymore. He was the only man allowed to see her as such.
She moved closer to him, her hand sliding under the water and running up the outside of his leg. "Want me to wash you?" she asked him, a playful grin forming on her lips.

Vlad was starting to lament how little he could do about the erotic hints Tenele seemed to be dropping - or maybe it was just in his head. Was that all he could think about? Of course she wouldn't be doing that here, at a time like this, he tried to tell himself, but her touch on his leg under the water nonetheless commanded his full attention.
"Want me to wash you?" she asked him, a playful grin forming on her lips.
"I may not have much choice," Vlad said in mock disappointment, flashing her his bandaged palms.

Tenele kissed his cheek and grabbed a rag from the side of the tub. She pored bath oil onto it. The rag touched his chest first. She rubbed in slow circles, managing to keep eye contact with him for the most part. Going lower and lower until her hand went under the water and began to clean an area that was sure to send him into some turmoil. She giggled and gave him a sly grin, after a long moment of that she continue to clean the rest of his body.

Vlad's breath stopped as Tenele guided the warm cloth over his skin. He stared down at it, then blinked at her, his lips open and a look of astonishment on his face. Her forwardness had done more than just shocked him. It was no longer physically possible to hide the thoughts he'd been having since she slid his clothes away. Staring at her, he clapped his mouth shut, thinking only about where the warm cloth was as it traveled his skin. His fingers twitched, but he knew he couldn't reach in to touch or guide her hands. He had to let her do as she would, which was both frustrating and incredibly exciting at the same time.

Tenele moved to straddle his legs, her smooth skin making contact with his legs as she sat in front of him and continued to was him. She pulled the rag from the water and squeazed it over his head, causing water to run through his hair and down his neck and back. She eased forward, purposely pressing her chest against his as she leaned her head over his good shoulder, pretending to watch her hand wash the back of his neck. Her lips trailed across his now wet skin and she kissed his lips afterwards.
"Am I annoying you?" she asked, her hand sliding down his chest, the cloth trailing along behind until it was submurged again and cleansing that sensitive part of his male body.
