Search, Rescue, Destroy (MATURE)

City closest to the Border and possibly the nicest. Most of the pure of hearts and the good people who were trapped in Arken when the Border was forged live here to escape the evil in the land... it doesn't work.

"Stand it up," Blade said flatly. Not harsh but without emphasis. "And hold it steady..."

Soran and Sid cooperated to raise up the frame so that its 'pane' faced Blade's focused form. The two men locked up, holding it extremely still from either side.

With a steady hand, Blade directed the sphere towards the frame. The sphere, guided by Blade's willpower, spanned out like a black metallic liquid, reaching and stopping at the sides of the frame. Once formed, the "mirror" became heavy but was standing firmly in place, they no longer needed to hold it up.

"Alright." Blade breathed heavily. "We have to move it now. Currently it's showing us a place a few yards away from Rai's location... but we need to be under cover." Breathing deeply again, Blade wiped his brow. "We have to move the mirror. Dad, look behind it and tell me if you see any cover we can take."

Soran glanced around the back of the mirror. A pile of supply crates and three standing kegs were clumped in a row a few yards from the teepee. "Here," he said, barely understanding how this worked. He touched the edges of the mirror, shuddering at the magic that tingled up his arms, and attempted to rotate it sideways, only to find it had gained an impossible amount of weight. In fact, even when he put his full back into it, the structure wouldn't budge, until the rogue finally had to pull his hands away, magic thrilling up his skin. "It's...this can't be moved," Soran said tensely. He didn't understand what he'd been told to do.

"Moving rift's aren't supposed to be easy to move." Blade said in a matter-of-fact tone. "I'm... going to be the only one able to move this...at all." He clenched his hands, charging them with liberal amounts of dark magic, and griped the frame's sides tightly. "Tell me where to move it."

"It's off to the left," Soran said, coming up behind the boy. Reaching out slowly, he reached around Blade's shoulders and his hands closed gently over Blade's hands on the mirror. He narrowed his eyes and tried to guide Blade toward what he'd seen in whatever way he could.

In grunting effort, Blade budged the mirror, with his father's guidance, to the direction indicated. It was difficult. Moving a space rift was said to be impossible, but even Blade knew that it could be done with the right amount of force. That force was in his blood by right. Both by inheritance and an untold prophecy, to be a great king. One that lived on in legends. His muscles bulged in effort, he gritted his teeth in response to the force until finally it was moved to the exact location they needed.

Letting go abruptly, Blade fell to his knees panting and flexing his fingers back to life.

Soran stared as the view inside the mirror slowly changed, and he could feel Blade's strength trembling through his hands. When the frame reached the right point, he stepped back to give Blade room as the boy collapsed to the ground. Soran didn't know what Blade just did, but he sensed it was important, or it wouldn't be this exhausting. "Are you able to continue?" Soran asked in a low voice as he knelt next to Blade, guessing that the boy wouldn't want Sid to hear if he needed to admit he had to rest.

Rai tilted her head at the woman, curly strands of blondish-brown hair fell in ringlets before her face. "Yes... I'm ready to grow up," though she said the words her voice was clearly unsure if she was doing the right thing. Her crystal gray-blue eyes looked at the woman and nodded. "Yes... I want to grow up!" A smile came to the child's face.

"Y-yes." Blade said, managing to stand up. "It's only minor discomfort... We can... enter now." He breathed heavily. He would regain strength, he was just tired for now. The adrenalin will kick in soon when they go to rescue his mother and Rai.

Noventia smiled and offered her hand for the child to stand. "Good. Now I have to ready a magic circle and spell for this. be a good girl and stay within this tent. It keeps Shea from noticing your presence." It was true. Magic crystals were inconspicuously placed around the tent that blocked out unwanted magical presence. But they would only last for so long against a godlike Queen. Once she did this spell, Shea would immediately know of Rai's presence. This needed to be fast. Once it was complete she'd open a rift and escape through it with Rai in tow.

Mizuki sobbed. This man before her had corrupted Luc, lied to him and set him against her. From the beginning Luc was set to die, she too if it happened that way. All for entertainment. All to pass the time with while they waited for the war. She killed Luc because they wanted her to. It was an odd and sickening combination of irony and mercy. Had she not killed him with her own arrow, the general would have tortured Luc when he was finally bored of the game he played. She felt sick, her stomach roiled with the information. Had this not have happened, Luc would be alive... they'd probably be together... but then Rai would've died by Shea's hand, Soran would've been killed by Reya eventually, and Blade would never had been born.

"All things happen for a reason. Whether we like the occurrence or not."

Her mother had said that after her father had died. Gwendolyn knew his death would set her daughter on a journey full of perils that Mizuki would win over, but it still hurt to know. 'Luc... you died for a reason...' she thought crying. The general had taken a break from beating her senselessly. She was left alone in the cave that was being used for the torture of prisoners. Mizuki immediately forgave Luc... for everything.

"I'd tell you I'm sorry if I could." she whispered to herself. With the band around her head, she could not communicate with Soran, could not try to communicate with her father in the spirit world. Once again she was being deprived of the magic that helped them make it through these perils.

She sobbed, feeling the utter hopelessness crush upon her.

Rai gave a quick nod, but did wonder around the room aimlessly. She looked over the many things in the tent, curiously poking some of them. How she had always wanted to be grown up, and now she was about to be. Would her mother and father be happy? Wait... which one? She would have two mothers and two fathers. This would prove to be very confusing, she figured.

Soran nodded and faced the portal, eager to be on the other side of it. He made himself wait for Blade to demonstrate how it was all to work, not wanting to touch the portal and somehow cancel out the spell. "How do we do this?" he said as Sid came up beside them.

"Ah, just jump through." Blade said simply. He put his arm through the black mirror, and it disappeared into the location they had placed the mirror at. "Just do it quick then find cover," he said pulling out his arm. "Don't want to risk anyone seeing." With that, he jumped through, rolling on the other side of the rift that was unseen once they went through. Quickly, Blade scrambled behind the crates, waiting for Sid and his father.

Outside the tent, Noventia drew out the circle and prepared the spell needed for this. Since they were far from the central campsite, and the soldiers aimlessly walking by, they thought nothing of what she was doing. 'Well and good,' she thought. Besides, what man in their right mind would interrupt a necromancer?

Soran gritted his teeth and jumped through a moment after Blade, not liking the boy being on the other side by himself. Sid came immediately after him and stumbled as he found himself on new terrain in a completely different place. The air was cooler, the trees taller, and there was a lingering scent of campfire smoke.

"Don't zone off," Soran reprimanded in a whisper, dragging Sid by the elbow to join Blade behind the pile of supplies.

"You say Rai is in that tent?" Soran whispered to Blade as he spied through an open space between the beer barrels. He tensed as a flap swung open on a large round tent further down the path. The sounds of men drinking and eating drifted out of the tent when the heavy hide lifted, and a young soldier walked out.

"I'm grabbing another keg," he called back into the tent, sounding drunker than he walked as he dropped the flap behind him and turned in their direction.

Behind them, the doorway disappeared. Blade cursed seeing that the tent was comprised of soldiers instead. From what he could tell from the scry, she was alone at the time. Between the time of the scry and now, could soldiers have come to guard her? Unlikely, but still.

"Now I'm not sure," Blade whispered, cursing himself inwardly. His green eyes followed the soldiers movement and he tensed up. "We need to move."
