Gungrave:
Seras stared at everyone who had come. "Un-believable. They sold people to do others dirty work. so what if they were "less" than us'. Seras wondered. She didn't believe it. Noone in her clan did either, those who did believe in things so impure as this were silenced for their posession.
So there She sat, waiting for the opportunity to set free some poor, unfortunate soul. They were locked in a cage like a hunted animal, and made to be nothing, but skin and bones until someone bought them. From then on they would live and die sicker than a dog.
Ah, here was one Seras could afford with what little pocket change she had left.(She had spent most of it on partying.) Seras put the 20 coins she had left up for this unfortunate human being that was apparently only worth 13. It was worth it, but she got strange stares and whispers. She Glared at them, and they immediatly shut up. So, with that Seras left the hellhole with the slave. Her name? Amelia. She'd be free now, but as for her fellow commrades, Seras was am sorry, but she just couldn't afford such salvage now. But she woukd return soon...
After Amelia was free and breathing the fresh air of the world they lived in, Seras just went right back into the slave shop. She leaned against the the wall to the right of the entrance/exit door. As she stood there watching slave after slave be dragged out she noticed they all seem to be the slightest bit happy about being sold. Seras thought to herself, Is it REALLY that much better than living here 'til you were dead? Bu then again, most slave shops "disposed" of their leftovers.
So, there she sat, usually the slaves were somewhat healthy looking and ready for the labour and things, but as soon as one girl was ead to the cold wood floor up there she noticed the difference between her, and the reast of them all. She had a sort-of dead look. Pale and anorexic with her long hair, which looked like it hadn't been cut or maintaned in ages.
The auctioneer started at 1 coin. No wonder, Seras knew anyone here didn't want someone who would probably snap like a twig as soon as she started to lift some logs.
"1 coin? The bidding starts at one coin. anyone?" The auctioneer seemed eager to want riddance of this girl very much.
"Free? Will anyone take her for free?"
Seras figured, that this was the perfect opportunity. She had just won 30 coins from a bet at the local pub and some of it could be spared for this girl.
"I will take her" a soft voice stated in the back of the crowd. It was Seras. she had claimed this girl.
The girl's eyes seem to light up as soon as she heard this stranger to her speak up, but then it faded just as fast. She knew she would have to do tons of labour though, but it was WAY better than living here the girl thought.
"Sold!" called the auctioneer. He seemed relieved and they moved onto the next person.
As they did that, the slave girl walked up to Seras with just a hint of happiness.
As soon as the girl reached the front of Seras, she spoke softly" So, where is your home?"
"I really don't have one." replied Seras.
"What? Then where will I work? Why did you buy me in the first place?"
The girl started to panic to Seras' confusion.
"I came here to set people like you free. Now let's go outside and I will lead you to your escape."
With that the 2 of them left the building. When they got outside and far away from the slave shop. Seras then handed the girl 10 gold coins and lit a ordinary looking fire in the palm of her (Seras') hand.
"Look closely. Rember these directions well, because I will not repeat myself." Seras said firmly. For the next 15 minutes Seras explained to the girl the directions for escaping this place. At first the girl seemed paniced about it all, but Seras had reassured her everything would be alright." By the way, what is you name?"
"My name? Rakuana, but didn't you see it up on the board?"
"No I didn't. you see, I'm blind..."
Shocked the girl nodded in understanding and ran following Seras' given instuctions of escape.
"But only when my power is used at its full potential." Seras Smirked. Humans really were bad at listening weren't they? Seras shook her head slightly to rid herself of the thoughts, and went to collect more gold in the pub. Afterall, gambling WAS one of her qualitites she considered a gift. Maybe others thought of it that way too?....
