Lore: New Information, Drinking, Flirting, and Fairy Dust

The city closest to the border. It is a city filled with traveling people and inns that hold many of the roughest people in Ighten. It's a good place to find weapons and an even better place to find trouble.

Elith heard her clearly with his sensitive ears. "Ji, ol kre'jen,"he whispered. Though he didn't look like it, every muscle in his body was tensed, in case he had to run. He would not fight them, not here. He would also be at a disadvantage here, because there were too many tables and such, and there were two of them. The odds were not pointing in Elith's favor.

Still cold she looked at Vier "Thank you for helping." As she walked over to the bar the torches and fire in the hearth flickered wildly, Celeste only had one thing on her mind. To pay back the person who almost killed her. Almost to the bar she drew the scmitar she kept with her at all times making several of the customers run out of the tavern.

Elith felt someone influencing his emotions, coaxing him to stay, that there was nothing wrong. In his mind, he knew that these things were lies, prolonging him from moving. But this one was quite powerful, and his emotions kept him where he was for the moment. "I guess you wouldn't listen to the truth, even if I told it to you, would you?" He asked without turning to face her. He knew the scimitar was raised. He had heard it being drawn.

"Wait Vier, let's entertain his delusions, before he dies. I didn't get to torture that butler so I am a bit depraved, remind me to kill him later. Also what is a kill with out fun?" Celeste said calmly as if she were remarking on the simplest of things. Keeping her scimtar drawn and pointed at him she said, "Ok you have oh let's say two minutes to explain and if I like your answer I'll kill you quickly, and if I don't we'll see how much pain and torture a drow can take." As she drew yet another hidden weapon this time the dagger that Ally left her, showing Vier that she was dead serious about this.

Elith turned in his seat, the memory clear in front of his face, "Alright." He found a place to start, "It was maybe two years ago, and it was my first time seeing the surface from my underground home. Me and my brother Malkris, a very powerful mage, were assigned to a raiding party. I was a scout of sorts for this party. Anyway, we made it to the surface sometime during the night, using the cover of darkness to try and get near it unnoticed.

As I neared the village I saw two children, playing near the house, running about and such. I was distracted by them for a moment, for I hadn't seen such happiness like that before. There really is no such thing as family where I come from. That was when Malkaris, my brother, set the houses on fire..and I stood in shock." Elith looked at the two of them, waiting for their response. The event was playing in his mind, distorting Veir's ability to influence his emotions. He couldn't feel calm, he couldn't feel happy or relaxed at that moment. And if you stared into the dark elf's eyes, you could see what he saw in that vision...

Celeste glared at the saddened drow seemingly thinking of how to end his life, "Your brother you say, then I think a fitting punishment for you is to help us hunt him down. When we find him you will deal the killing blow, after we deal out the retribution of course." As she said that her voice lost some of it's coldness and she sheathed her dagger but continued to hold her scimtar, although in a more relaxed postion.

Looking at Vier, Celeste continued, "Don't you think that is a fitting punishment for a repentant Drow?" with a hint of disbelief, regarding a repentant Drow.

The dark elf looked up at the human, "It will be much easier said than done. You've never been to the darkness of my home. I know you are not afraid, but when you get there, you will be. There are creatures of darkness, evil and wicked, and they wait in the darkness. Your human eyes won't be able to see in the pitch blackness of the tunnels that lead to the drow city. And after that, it gets better. We have to infiltrate a heavily guarded house of power to find one very powerful mage out of the many brilliant swordsmen and high priestess, including a Matron Mother. What you are suggesting is suicide."

He looked from one to the other, then slightly smiled, "Though I can see that none of this will persuade you to stay here and live out your lives, but I decided to warn you what you'd be up against. The only problem is that I don't know how to get back, because Malkaris sealed the only entrance I knew of to the Underdark. That's why I stayed up on the surface in the first place."

For some reason or another Vier had decided to accept him but Celeste didn't focus on that. She only had her mind on one thing; revenge and the Drow that was helping her. "Don't worry about getting into the Underdark, there is a rumor going around about several groups the decided to stupidly go exploring in a cave about two days ride from here and never came back. As for me don't underestimate me those who do end up dead or worse." Celeste said as if daring you to ask what is worse than death.

"Now if I remember correctly because of this little interlude I missed out on my reward so if you'll excuse me I have some buisness to take care of. Celeste finished smirking leaving Vier to take care of any arrangements they had with the Drow. I must remind myself to ask for his name in the morning, she thought as she climbed up the stairs.

Elith knew that they'd need anything that could help them with the task before them. They'd need food, medical supplies, horses, and the like. Because of his..employers, this gave him exclusive discounts run by his emplolyers. He also had to contact one of them and tell him of the task. If there was someone that could be trusted with information it would be his friend.

After getting the supplies and the horses, he brought these to the stables. Toa and Torea agreed to keep an eye on them until he got back. The dark elf walked through the streets, avoiding being followed. Soon he found an alleyway, with a drunk man stumbling towards him. The man hick-uped and asked, "Spare some change, sir?" in a very convincing voice. Elith smiled,

"I would but I just spent it." The man threw away his act and suddenly turned grave,

"I heard what happened in the Drowning Sorrows. It seems you've gotten yourself in trouble yet again." Elith sighed, smiling slightly,

"I am to lead them to my brother..and I'm supposed to kill him, after they 'deal out the reprimands' they say. Those two have no idea what lays before them. Not even I know what to expect, and I lived there for quite some time."

The man smiled, patting him on the shoulder, "Seeing as how they won't be convinced otherwise, I wish you luck on your journey. Don't worry about Veir and Celeste. I've known them for some time and I know they can take care of themselves, as can you." Elith nodded,

"Thank you, Odion. Now, I guess I should go and get some rest before we leave. Farewell, Odion. I'll see you when I get back." With that, Elith disappeared into the darkness. Odion smiled, and then disappeared as well.....

Elith finally got back to the Drowning Sorrows, looking around to see if either Veir or Celeste was here. Toa and Torea had taken good care of the horses, and he was thankful for that.

While Celeste went upstairs to freshen up to find Vier's lady elf's compainion, Wow that's a mouthfull, looks like I have another name to find out. Just as she finished up about twenty minutes later there was a knock at her door. Wondering who it was Celeste opened ther door and to her surprise it was just who she was about to go looking for.

"Hello I'm Keelereah, I saw you earlier and I was wondering if you wanted to talk."
Surprised and greatful that he had missed the show downstairs Celeste invited him in, "Oh I'm Celeste, I wouldn't mind at all it's been a trying day for me."

After talking for an hour they moved on to more enjoyable acts and it became a less trying day and night for Celeste.

Elith sighed, sitting in a chair in the tavern. He had decided to get some time to think. As much as he didn't want to, he knew that one day or another, he would've had to go back and face his brother anyway. This wasn't for himself or to keep the two women from killing him. Some time after the incident, he had swarn he would avenge their deaths. He might as well do so now...

It was now morning, and Elith had fallen asleep at the table. Toa and Torea hadn't moved him, but they could tell he was in for a rude awakening.

Instead of waking up the way she wanted, which involved the handsome elf lying next to her, Celeste was rudely awakened by a loud banging on the door followed by a shout of "Celeste wake up we're leaving in a moment." Grogily waking up she muttered "Oh Vier' is sooo going to get it." Looking at the handsome elf still asleep wondering how he slept through that.

As Celeste gathered her stuff she thought, Let's see I need to visit Alethia's for a sight inhancement charm and a reiforcement spell on my weapons. Knowing that Vier would leave without her whether or not she had what she needed, Celeste left a resonable amount of money on the table for the room with a note, and snuck out the window.

Walking down the streets of Hepian Celeste grabbed a bite of breakfast from a nearby vendor, before heading to Alethia's. When she got there Alethia was just opening so Celeste got a warm greeting from the woman, "It's been a while Celeste how've you been?"

"I'm great, sorry I haven't been by Vier's been keeping me busy with all manner of things to do. Which is why I'm here." Celeste said as she returned the motherly figure's warm greeting.

"Come in, come in. What do you need, dear?" Alethia asked, while moving towards the back of the shop.

"I need a sight inhancement charm that can last for several weeks, one strong enough to grant me sight in the Underdark." As she saw the shocked look on the other womans face she added, "No questions."

Alethia dropped it, "That I can do, anything else?"

"Yes I need a reinforcement spell on all of my weapons." Celeste said wearily.

"Ok lay them out for me this one is very easy. While you're doing that I'll gather the stuff for the charm." Alethia said hurrying to the storage room in the back.

About fifteen minutes later Celeste, with her buisness completed and her purse lighter, she walked into the Tavern expecting a glare from Vier and an exasperated Drow.

Elith was woken up and had accidentally fallen backwards in his chair, which ended up waking him up even more. he shook his head, groggily getting up. He had been thinking a lot, remembering everything he had learned about the Underdark and commiting it to complete memory. The dark elf had heard laughter as well, so that was probably the faerie's voice. It sounded as such.

Elith turned and asked, "May I ask of your name?" He wondered if the faerie would respond with a glare or actually answer the question.

Seryth entered Drowning sorrows and noticed the three from last nights commotion. It was good being a demon sometimes. Especially a really old one who knew much of the evils that lurked both above and below Arken. He had hoped they would still be here when he returned this morning. He knew how to get where they wanted to go, and he needed some money.

The giant demon stood in the doorway of the inn with a malicious smile across his face. The massive form blocked the morning sun and caused an eerie darkness to fall on the room. Seryth looked at the two women and elf with black, soulless orbs that seemed to be the very entrance to Underworld itself.

"I think y'all are gonna need my help," he said roughly. "If y'all want to make it very far on that little... journey." His finely sharpened teeth glistening white.

Walking in the tavern she is almost imediatelly given one of Vier's famous 'Death Glares' and narrowly dodges a swipe at herself from said angery fairy. "And if I didn't take care of my buisness now we only would have had to wait later and leave whatever place rather quickly because I probably would have killed them rather then pay them. As for my nighttime activities, that is of no concern to you." She remarked to Vier rather coldly.

Expecting the same question about her name from the drow 'I still have to get his name' She answered before he had the chance to ask, "And I'm Celeste, Dark Wing's friend, but judging by her mood I don't know for how long. By the way her name is Vierdyn, what she gave you is her title. I have a question for you, what is your name or do you like being called Drow?" Celeste finished sarcasticly.

Looking at the huge demon, for that was obvious that that was what he was, Celeste had to keep from drawing her scimitar. There were not good things she had heard about demons, so Celeste was weary about letting one help them. It appered to her though that Vier was taking care of it so she let it go, but wondered if the fight that was calmed down last night would erupt into a bloodbath this morning. Vier hated demons worse then she hated Drow, and that was saying something.
