Lore: New Information, Drinking, Flirting, and Fairy Dust

The city closest to the border. It is a city filled with traveling people and inns that hold many of the roughest people in Ighten. It's a good place to find weapons and an even better place to find trouble.

Celeste not knowing that Veir had good news was out bribing officals in anyway she could, money worked nicely but she prefered torture best. As Vierdyn's helper she looked for leads regarding Viers assassin work and it was a messy but rewarding job. Currently she had just finished getting the best info she had gotten in a while from an offical that worked with Vier's target.

Heading back to the tavern she was sidetracked by her hunger. "I guess a little dinner before I go to see Vier is alright." As she walked into a little shop to get some much needed food.

Just as this was happening, a lone stranger walked down the street, for no particular reason really. Perhaps he would stop by the tavern, for he could use a drink. But as he was about to enter, a man went flying through a third story window and hit the ground with a thud. Before he could help, a faerie proceeded out the door to face the man. The stranger had no idea why these two were fighting, but it would not end good for either of them if they were allowed to fight.

The two people heard the stranger clear his throat, his face still hidden, but they could see his ebony hands, for he had no gloves for them. There was a polite but firm tone to the melodic voice that spoke, "I can't help but give in to my curiosity. Who are you two and why are you fighting?"

As Celeste ate her food so far the only meal she's had all day, she mused over the information she had uncovered and it's source. Going over the information Vier had given her before she left this morning, she sumused that it would do and she wouldn't need any more.

Ok so a jealous mistress wants to be the only one in that lords life and threatens the wife. The head butler is tired of serving the mistress and wants out so he willingly gave me the info, so it should be trust worthy especally for the outragegous price he asked for it.

Alright I think I've wasted enough time waiting around time to get back.

The stranger nodded, "My apologies." William got up, looking at the stranger and then the faerie. The stranger turned, and his lavender eyes burned in the darkness of his hood, though his face remained hidden. "You will apologize for your actions and then you will leave, understand?" William quivered under the stare, then quickly ran over to Veir and quickly said his apology. He ran off, his wallet falling out. He tripped over a barrel and hit the ground, then crawled off. The stranger chuckled, "That was amusing."

Finally getting to Drowned Sorrows Tavern and noticing the dark blanket covering the window Celeste muttered, "I hope Vier stayed outof trouble, wait Vier stay out of trouble who am I kidding." Fully expecting the worst she walked inside, noticing that only the window was damaged Celeste sighed in relief. Then noticing an upset and yet sullen looking Vier in the corner, she walked over, "Hey what did I miss, Vier?"

The stranger walked into the tavern, keeping to a table. A waitress came up to him, "Evenin', Elith. Will you be takin' the usual?" Elith nodded,

"Yes please." He handed her some gold, enough to pay for the drink. She smiled and walked over to Toa, who was at the bar. She said within hearing distance of Vier and Celeste, "Elith wants the usual, Toa. He's in the corner over there." Elith tapped his ebony fingers with an almost blurring speed against the table, though they hardly made a sound. He wasn't impatient, but he didn't stay still a lot.

Hearing her name Celeste paled and almost whimpered. "I uh um got the info from inside the mistresses own household at that, so I know it's right. I just didn't get to torture anyone so ..." Celeste pouted knowing that it got to Vier.

Toa called, "Elith! Your drink's ready!" Elith looked up, nodding and getting up from the table. He walked over quickly, taking the mug from her and smiling,

"Thank you, Toa. I'll bring the mug back when I'm finished." Elith wasn't one to drink in the tavern. He walked out of the tavern and found a barrel, sitting on it in thought and drinking the wine silently. He smiled slightly, though he still had his hood on. Toa shook her head,

"That elf's a strange one, he is."

Celeste had to keep from sighing in relief at hearing those words.

"Yeah well while you're thinking that the info had to be worth it for making you worry, I'm thinking it better be worth it for the price I paid for it. I should have just tortured him but no I had to be somewhat kind." She said the last part sarcasticlly.

"If you try anything while I'm with you I'll scream, Vier; I've told you time and time again I value friendship above relationships." Celeste said truthfully.

Elith was only 1/4 done with his drink. He had finally taken his hood off, revealing his youthful ebony face and his stark white hair. It was much easier drinking the stuff this way. He looked at the ground in thought, thinking back to when he had first come to this place. It had been a long road to the thing of trust he had gained here. He sat in his thoughts, only partially affected by the alcohol.

Celeste visibly relaxed until she caught on the end of what Vier said. "Wait just tonight I ment any other night as well." Completly ignoring the part about the butler she thought about the last peice of info Vier had dropped.

Thinking for a moment about the fire that caused the strangely shaped scars on her back Celeste shuddered. Looking up at the fairie whose lap she was stting on with a look that could only be described as cold and empty, "What do you mean I do not deserve the information Vierdyn Oussana. It was me who was injured in That Fire not you and you didn't have to rescue me so don't you dare blame me for that Vierdyn." Celeste said with a touch of malice that showed why she was not one to be trifled with.

Elith continued his drink. Now he was almost done. There was a pause as he looked at himself inside the mug. He smiled a little, then drank the last of the wine. He suddenly felt a rain drop, and soon many were pouring down. He sighed, putting an ebony hand over his mug and getting up from the barrel, walking back inside. The patrons turned, now seeing his face, but the patrons here were regulars, and they knew him to be no trouble. They continued with their drinks.

Elith gave Toa the mug, stating, "I guess I'll get a room if there's one still available, Toa. I don't plan on going anywhere in that rain." Toa nodded,

"Alright, take the last one on the left. It's empty." She handed him a key, which he pocketed and then he pulled out more gold to pay for the room.

"Thank you, Toa." He smiled and gave her the money, then walked towards the stairs to go to the rooms.

"I made you worry, well I'm sorry but you wanted the info so in a way it is your fault that I stayed out so long." Celeste's tone suggested that she wasn't backing down either. "Thanks for the info. We'll etablish a hunt after your target is completed."

"Well at least I know you value our friendship that much." Taking on an indignant tone Celeste continued her rant, "I do not bring up barbarians. And atleast I can spot a good female whereas you go after almost any one of them. I saw the elf I had already planned on getting my self a reward for my hard day. No if you don't mind I need to go freahen up to do so." Celeste finished walking off in a huff.

Elith stopped, hearing that name. Be'lige...No, they were wrong. He had never started that fire. His brother had, not him! The only problem was that he couldn't prove it, because he didn't know how to get back home to get Malkaris to admit it. The elf decided now to sit down in his previous spot, though it was now obvious that he wasn't in the best of conditions. That horrible memory was appearing before him now.

Toa walked over to him, "Elith?" Elith didn't hear her. It was like he was having some sort of nightmare. Everything that had happened that night: the burning, the killing, the horrors. They all came to life before his eyes. Toa spoke a little louder, "Elith Be'lige, wake up!" She hit him on the head, hard enough to get him out of his day dream. He rubbed his head a little and Toa asked, "Elith, you okay, lad?" Elith nodded,

"I'm fine, Toa. I was just a little distracted." Toa nodded, going back to her business. She had no idea what she had just done, but then again, neither did Elith, for he hadn't heard his full name being called.

As the handsome elf walked towards her Celeste watched with interest until something caught her acute hearing.

Hearing the very name that Vier had just told her started the fire that almost killed her those four years ago Celeste stopped on the stairs and turned to look over the bar. Seeing a dark elf sitting at the bar with a dazed look on his face Celestes' eyes flashed gold and the fire in the hearth flared for a second. Using a voice that made the one she used against Vier sound warm and comforting "Vierdyn you heard that right? I say we start the hunt now." Celeste turned to Vierdyn as she said that with a look that could have killed serpents in their nest.
