Lore: Cont. of Assassination "Briena's Travels"

This is the Border that most of the people in Arken want to cross. People in Ighten are not allowed to cross it unless under orders by the Queen herself. The mountain is always covered in snow.

Lore: Cont. of Assassination "Briena's Travels"

Eslin:

Briena trudged through the cursed snow, it seemed as if all the warmth had left her body. She shivered as she walked.

She had been in the surface world for decades, but she was still use to the warm temperature of the Underdark that had been her home for some many years. The temperature was extreme in the heights. She knew that her kind wasn’t made to live in the highest parts.

She almost stumbled into the broader without knowing it. She had been going around this winding curve for a while when all of a sudden it went around a sharp bend and there was the broader.

She cursed and jumped back around the bend. It wouldn’t do her any good to let them know she was here. She didn’t feel like explaining why she was going over the broader to the likes of lowly guards.

She whispered the words to two spells. One was of invisibility and, the other one was of illusion. She had learned both for her trade. The invisibility spell would run its course, and the illusion one would have to be renewed.

Now if anyone looked at her they wouldn’t see her. And if she were visible they’d see a light skinned elf with blond hair. She would miss her ebony skin and white hair, but it would get her killed across the broader.

She once again walked around the bend, leaving footprints in the snow. She hoped no one would see them, but she really didn’t care if they did. What good would it do them?

As she got closer she began to smell the campfires they had going. It was a rather largest camp of unwashed men. She walked right on through and down the other side of the mountain towards Hepian.

Someone did see her footprints. Old Jack had gotten rather drunk that day. He was lying around a campfire with his buddies singing bawdy songs while they laughed at him.

He happened to look over just when Briena crossed, “Well ye looker there. Yonder there be some footprints in the snow,” he said in a slurred tone. His buddies laughed and asked him to sing another song. After all he was so drunk it would be a long while before he could think straight.

OCC: Briena has moved on to Riffraff's resthouse.
