Lore: Just a Little Fun
"Thanks. This won't be long." Gwennan made for the spot where the other two people had fallen, grabbed the heavier man by the arms, and started dragging him to safety. The fires were already advancing rapidly on the other, one of the women who'd been watching Cainon's performance. Gwennan dropped his first rescuee and ran to her aid, lifting her clear of the fire and trying to shake her awake. "Milady! Come on!" He glanced around. Now the man was in danger again. And there were bound to be so many people in the city in just as much danger, whom he couldn't see... Swearing violently, he deposited her next to Cainon, ran back to the man, and started laboriously dragging him again, inch by inch. "Cainon... can you... augh! Wake them up... somehow? Water... I don't know..."
Despite the rigid situation, Cainon had to fight back a grin at the remark of Gwennan. "Of course I can," water splashed the two people that were within his sight. The woman beside him stirred. Her hair was plastered to her face. "Get out of here!" Cainon yelled. The man followed after her, thanking his rescuers as he passed them.
Cainon swirled the water through the air and drilled into the houses and shops that were burning. The unnatural fire seemed to be rising up against the water as Cainon tried to vanquish it. "I think we've done about all we can do," he told Gwennan. "I can't fight this fire by myself..." The water weaved in and out of the buildings just as it had the people a little while earlier. "Unless you can help me try and find its source." Cainon walked to Gwennan side, still concentrating on fighting the burning city.

Gwennan shook his head. "I don't think that would be smart. This isn't any normal fire, and I don't think we want to meet its source." He looked around at the still-rising flames, then looked at Cainon again and shrugged. "Of course, you're the one with all the magic, so it's your call. Lead on." He tried to sound matter-of-fact, even casual, but his discomfort was betrayed by his continually looking around for some sign of life, someone else to rescue.
Cainon shoved the water forward. The fire retreated briefly, but soon regained its strength. "I think you're right," he said. "We don't want to meet this fires source.... Especially right now." Cainon scanned the remnants of the burning city as well, but say no sign of life. The smoke had thickened and made it hard to breath. Cainon coughed astatically, covering his mouth with his hand.
