Lore: (mature)To The End of The World part 1
Zeikiel snorted. "All women have their peculiar ways. Kat is one with an inborn desire to serve, and you," he looked at Dan with calculating eyes, "Are one who does not take kindly to another's rules... And I hate unwanted company." Zeikiel gave her a pointed look and shifted his position on the floor of the cave, his wings straining to stretch out. "But Kat has something quite special about her that even she does not know. I keep her to study why attack spells are un-effective to her."
"Well, now." Dan chewed on her lower lip. "She said she got through... some kind of ward of yours, is that correct? And would you classify it as strictly offensive, or what?" Granted, she knew nowhere near as much about magic as she liked to let on, but she could talk convincingly about it in theory, and it seemed as good a topic as any to discuss with Mr. Sociability here.
"It was defensive." he explained as if he was reiterating a worn out subject. "It was designed to repel all intruders, but she had gotten through it. She's some kind of resistant... I've never heard of one before." He was so fasinated by it that he let all the wonder and awe seep through his icy shell.
Dan couldn't respond for a moment, merely staring at him. So this was what it took to get the man to express some emotion? He was really a very peculiar person. Well, if she kept this conversation up, maybe he'd let something else on. "Resistant? But I've never heard of anything like that in humans. And she didn't seem to have any other abilities. I can see why you'd be intrigued. I am myself, a little." Which might have almost been true.
Zeikiel caught his words before they even came out of his mouth. He almost would've gone on and on about the human histories in magical abilities, but he noticed the rain had finally stopped, and his body was itching to stretch out. Without a word, Zeikiel practically crawled out of the cave and upon freedom freedom from the caves confinment, his spread his wings out wide.
Then he smelled the smoke...
"...A fire.."
