Elena took her seat again and crossed her legs in a proper fashion. "My husband, your lord, has gone on a business trip, short notice. He will be gone for a period of time that has not yet been determined. However, I'm sure he will return shortly. Why, is there something you required of him?" she asked.
Seryth enjoyed hearing those words. He didn't like Airen but feared him. This was his chance however to build his own forces to fight him when he returned.
Seryth's thoughts were interrupted by the library doors swinging open once again. "Hello mother," said the dark figure approaching. "Are we still going into town tomorrow?" he walked up and stood beside her. He didn't pay any attention to the demon sitting across from her.
Though not among the very wise, Seryth had his perks. An idea struck as he looked over the young master. Whatever power ran through Airen also ran through this young man. Seryth now only had to convince him to join him in his plan.
With that thought, he stood up. "My lady," he acknowledged, "Young sir. I'm sorry but I must be on my way." Luther watched intently him as he left the room.

Elena smiled, happy that the demon was going. "Of course, Luthur. I am excited. With your father being gone for a while, doing something with you will take my mind off it. Did you leave something here, is that why you came back?" she asked, wondering why he stopped in after the disaggreement that he and his father had had earlier that day.
She stood up, smoothign the skirt and walking to the bookshelf to get another book. "I find myself bored," she told him with a soft and beautiful smile.

Elena looked back at him as she put the book back and reached for another. "Oh, away on a business trip. I don't exactly know when he will return, I hope soon. I do not like sleeping alone with out him... I miss his presence... I always feel protected around him, though I can handle myself. I am not the poor maiden girl anymore." She ran her fingers through her hair as she put the book back and finally found one that she thought would interest her.
"You didn't answer me, did you forget something?"

"Well, he should be the one appologizing," she said. "However, he is not a man that apologizes. He does not mean to be so rude, he has a lot on his plate. I understand that... I guess he has gone to find the man he used to be. I hope that he does find him. He will be a better father too you."
She sat in her chair, crossing her legs. The slit in her skirt revealed her smooth leg up to the thy, though she knew her son would not notice, for she herself didn't.

Luther noticed the fine leg she presented from the slit in her dress but kept his composure. She seemed to be willing to talk about anything with him. So he continued to see if he could get more out of her.
"You know mother," he said, "You've never told me much about your and father's past. I would really like to here how y'all met."

"I was going to be jailed for running away. I was a slave in a castle. Your father met me, and protected me. In turn for his kindness the Queen of Ighten banished us to Arken. If we were to go back there she would know, and she would have us killed. All because your father refused to kneel before her. Not the good queen everyone thinks she is... I wasn't banished, but I had no where else to go. So I went with Airen... and we got into so much trouble. Some where in between there and now we ended up here... Amazing, huh?"
She smiled at her son. "Take a seat," she said and opened her book, skimming through it. "You look like your father," she said and smiled. "Except for your eyes. They are so odd, the girls love them, don't they? I bet, you look handsome."

Elena smiled weakly and looked down at her book. "I'm just not used to the man he has become. He used to be so kind... However, Iguess in this land kindness does not exist. Though, my son, you seem kind. I know you have your fathers heart... I only hope that you will make good decisions. Wise ones. I guess all mothers hope that for their children."
She sighed and closed the book.
"I guess I should bath and dress for bed," she said as she stood and placed the book back on the shelf. "If you want to talk, I can stay longer or you could wait until after I'm finished bathing?"
