Lore: (mature)To The End of The World part 1
It didn't take long for the storm to hit their side of the forest. The crash of the lightening brought Zeikiel out of his consuming thoughts. Water didn't bother him, but it probably bothered the elf. Grimacing at himself, he tried to make an excuse of why he should care about her comfort. 'She'd let you hear about it, that's why...' he thought then turned around to look at Dan, finding to his surprise she was far behind.
Ew. Wet. This was not optimal. Dan wasn't particularly bothered by inclement weather... unless it got in her way, and this sort of looked like it was going to. And thunderstorms made her hair frizz like none other. Then there was always the trees-falling-fires-starting aspect, which she didn't think was terribly likely but which never failed to complicate matters. And she was thoroughly damp already. Ah, life was full of disappointments.
She looked up - aw, he's looking at me? How sweet! She gave up on hiding her grin before long and waved dismissively at him. "Not that you would, but you don't have to worry about me. I'm at one with the elements. And too money-hungry to die," she added sweetly, but jogged to catch up anyway.

Zeikiel glowered. "I was not--" he stopped himself. He had no reason to explain himself to her. Suddenly he felt like his cheeks were on fire. 'What is that?' he thought and turned his face away. Whatever it was, hopefully Dan hadn't noticed it.
His pace slowed and he stared straight ahead without paying any attention to his surroundings, and the rain. He wasn't even aware that he had slowed so much that he was now walking Dan's pace. A pace he considered a turtle's stride.

...Was he...? No, couldn't be. Zeikiel, Probable Destroyer of Worlds, was blushing! This was too much. Dan stifled a very strange-sounding cough but decided not to bother him. The poor guy had to be dreadfully uncomfortable. She wouldn't rub it in. She did appreciate his slowing down, though, intentional or no, and quickly made up her lost ground. He's really quite the gentleman, isn't he? She thought wryly, then had another highly suspect coughing fit.
She walked beside him in silence for awhile. It wasn't real silence, of course, given the continuous rumble of thunder. She looked at Zeik again. She couldn't help it; he was huge. And half-dragon. But if you put that aside, the humanoid parts of him weren't so bad-looking. Not really. She did have to wonder how his kind reproduced - her mouth twisted in a self-mocking smirk as she felt her cheeks heat in turn. Scandalous. Besides, weren't they... All dead. Right. Definitely not going to ask about that, it seemed like a sore spot.
She looked up at the sky through the trees. "I don't see this lightening up for a good while... does that affect our plans, oh wise and mighty leader?" She wasn't sure why she'd begun to refer to him as such. He was her target, wasn't he? Or at most a subject of some curiosity... Well, whatever.

Was she coughing? Zeikiel midly wondered if his companion, if she could be called such, was getting sick from the rain. He groaned inwardly. 'I'm not carrying her feeble body.'
"I don't see this lightening up for a good while... does that affect our plans, oh wise and mighty leader?"
"Eh?" he barely caught the words she had said because his deity was burning a hole through his skull. It was seething at him for not having killed this woman yet. "Oh..." he never caught the sarcasm in her voice, and now he was disoriented from his deity's undesirable attack to his brain. Pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration, Zeikiel absent mindedly cast out a shield over their heads, to at least protect them from the rain.

He grimaced and resumed his original pace. "Fine." Stop answering her you dolt. He sneered at himself, away from Dan's view. Gods, he was really losing it. Why didn't he kill her now? Because she's an elf. A fellow, human despising elf.
If that was the best answer his mind could come up with, then Zeikiel was sure that these people were affecting him more than he wanted them to. The burning in his skull went away. Odd... normally that would persist for hours until the problem was corrected.
"Let's find shelter." He said quickly, trying to keep from thinking too into the way things were beginning to change for him.

Dan arched an eyebrow but declined to comment. He was certainly an odd one. She caught up with him again and began scanning for any caves or warm little hidey-holes. Once or twice she was on the verge of pointing out a possibility before she remembered that she was not, in fact, alone, and her companion had a pretty respectable wingspan. He probably knew what to look for better than she did - then again, she almost felt bad about annoying the hell out of him for so long. Well, not really. Being a nuisance was one of her more developed skills, after all, and she never got too put out over doing what she did well. Couldn't hurt to curry some goodwill, though, right? If he had any. Sheesh.
"Over there," she said finally, pointing at a cave that may or may not have been recently inhabited. Zeik could certainly handle whatever lurked inside, if anything. Convenient, that.

OOC: Heirot freaking Died. and this is my sad attempt to resurect a thread that i promised myself wouldn't die.

Zeikiel glanced at what she pointed at. It looked like he would just barely make it in with his wings. He would only have half an inch of room within it. He was urged to decline it and keep moving on, all his life on his own, rain never really bothered him anymore, but Dan... Why do I CARE?
Shaking his head in frustration, he marched over to it without a word.

"Ah, then does it meet with Your Worship's approval?" Dan muttered under her breath and jogged after him. As she got closer, she had a better view of the cave - maybe it wasn't big enough after all. If it was, they'd still be in rather close quarters, and she didn't know how up-close-and-personal she wanted to get with Zeikiel's axe. To say nothing of the man - er, man-dragon-person? - himself.
"It's not like I have my heart set on this one or anything. The neighbors aren't exactly giving me warm and fuzzy feelings." She looked around the cave. "Although it's possible the former tenants were both warm and fuzzy, they probably also had pointy nasty teeth."

A breif glance and thrown fireball inside told them everything they needed to know. Though there was a small shreik from the inside, its owner a rabbit-now toasted.
"It'll do." he said gruffly then waited for her to enter. His uncharacteristic polietness taking over. He didn't mind the rain, but a soft pelted, small elfin being probably would.

She lifted the hem of her tunic to drop a quick, mocking curtsey. "Such a gentleman." She stepped inside and grinned broadly, twirling about once and on the verge of saying something about how it already felt like home before her eyes lit on the charred rabbit corpse. It crumbled into ashes when she kicked at it, and she flicked a glance back at Zeikiel with considerable respect and quite possibly alarm. Here was someone who didn't do things by halves.
It took Dan a moment to register that he'd spoken; she'd managed not to stare at him only by staring fixedly at a spot just above him and to the left. She shook her head quickly. "It's more than adequate. That was... ah, quite efficiently done." She sat down with her back to the wall, trying not to look too wary.
