Lore: Behind Stone Walls

It's home to many monasteries of the martial arts. Amidst the tall and welcoming trees there can be found statues of heroes and saints....

Telanis froze for a moment in the door as the first thing he saw was Laya standing nude in the room. It wasn't so much that he had any sense of shame or discomfort with the situation, but it was the first time he'd seen a human woman naked and he was both surprised and intrigued by what he was looking at. Not knowing any better, he stared at her the way humans often stared at him the first time they saw his true form, taking another step in without saying a word.

After Laya finished adjusting the kimono to where it fit comfortably she turned around and gasped in surprise. "Oh, Telanis... I didn't expect to see you there," she said. She had still been just a tad bit damp, so the kimono clung a bit to her form. She would soon dry completely and the fabric would fall loose. She didn't give any thought that Telanis had been standing there watching her get dressed. It didn't bother her that he had been watching her. Telanis would never harm her, and he was too pure of a creature to find into sexual gratifaction in seeing her naked, wasn't he?

Though, she knew she should care more, she didn't think that she would mind if he did... That is if he could feel sexual gratifaction from seeing her nude.

"I feel so much better now that I'm clean..."

Sighing to herself, Neko rubbed her eyes and turned back to her house where Kratos was just waking up. Both felt plagued with horrible emotions and thoughts. They wanted revenge, they wanted to break down and cry, they wanted to just run and hide. They were still young, barely tasting their adulthood.

Journey's did nothing to harden the soul and make you feel as if you've seen everything one could possibly see. They don't prepare you for the real blows that make warriors keel over and vomit. Strong fighters turn and run from these things... at least they wish they could.

Kratos wished it was easy to just turn his back on the village and walk away. But this was his home, the warlord had killed his father. He had to pay in kind with his own blood.

Telanis blinked at Laya thoughtfully, feeling the slightest line of tension run through him, and though he instinctively checked her expression for signs of its source, he knew already that the feeling was his own and not received from someone else. He wasn't sure what to make of it, so he pushed it gently aside to analyze later. It was just a small, strange feeling, that passed as soon as it was noticed.

"I feel so much better now that I'm clean," she said.

"I'm glad," he replied, though his glance strayed to Neko. He was still rather worried about her...she'd seemed distant and troubled since they found her sleeping outside, but her aura communicated very little, almost like it was locked back from everyone else. If she wanted space, he didn't intend to intrude. These things took time. He needed a little space at times, himself. In fact, this was one of those times. The city was fascinating, but also suffocating, like exploring a coral reef. No matter how beautiful and alien, he was running out of air. He wanted to be in the forest...just a few hours would do. Just enough time to return to his element.

"I am going out for a while. I will be back soon," he said to Neko and Laya. He made a slight bow to them; a human gesture he had picked up by observation, but looked unexpectedly charming and natural in his unrehearsed movement. With that, he turned from the two ladies' presence and headed around the side of the house, moving out into the city streets.

Neko sighed a entered the house, not realizing that Telanis had walked into the city and left them. Neko just found her way into her old room, idily thinking about last night and the dark horse in the stables. She wanted to see him above everyone else, just because he made her feel better. But even she knew she needed more rest, last night's events did a number on her.

Gods, she had almost been raped. What was wrong with her sometimes? Shaking her head, Neko collapsed onto her bed and was soon asleep, dreaming of a dark horses and mysterious men hiding in the shadows that she desparately wanted to find and be held by.

Kratos was awake now, he forced himself out of bed and into his private washroom. He cleaned his face and teeth, brushing the tangles from his hair and looked soberly into the glass mirror. Gods, he could see that the emotions were doing a number on him. He had slept but there were still dark circles under his eyes. He was worried about the future, and what he planned to do.

He wondered if coming home was a smart idea now...

Adonis saw Telanis walk across his line of sight on his way to the streets, and almost called out to him to stay. From what he'd seen of it so far, this town was no place for the likes of him. But if it took subjection to human injustice to make his brother understand it...Adonis bitterly held his tongue. He wanted out of his stall, suddenly anxious enough to feel compelled to pace, but unable to do so.

Telanis turned down another street, to find the view the same as every other turn he'd made. He'd meant to go straight to the forest, but finding his way out of the town was proving more difficult than expected. He finally paused next to a withered old man who was slouching against the side of a building lazily, smoking a long pipe. "I am trying to get to the forest. Can you show me?" he asked the old man.

The man chuckled. "I sorry, my son, my legs old. Maybe people in there," he said in a voice dripping with sarcasm, gesturing toward an ovular building labeled with the characters for "City Hall". Inside was the converted base for the top-ranked squadron of the resident ruling party's guard. The territory was so hostile, the man had truly suggested it as a harmless joke, but unfortunately Telanis distinctly lacked an appreciation for sarcasm.

"Thank you," he said, and headed to the building, opening the door calmly without knocking and peering inside. He still hadn't caught on to polite entry of a building.

Inside the old City Hall the warleader was meeting with his soldiers. They all turned when Telanis barged into the building unannounced. Everyone frowned at him, but it was the warleader that went forward to greet him.

"Hello there boy, do you realize that this area is off limits?" He sounded friendly to Telanis, who couldn't detect his dangerous undertone.

Laya watched him leave. She then looked at Neko. "Well, no sense in me staying around here and doing nothing! I might go for a walk around the village... I promise not to get into any trouble... Well, I promise to try not to get into any trouble." She smirked and spun in the kimono. "Its pretty, I'll keep it clean."

She left the bath house and went towards the front of the house to find somewhere interesting to go. She felt free with out Kron's chains clinging to her, and now she felt as if she could handle walking around alone... and it wouldn't bother her.

Telanis tilted his head at the general curiously. "I was not aware...I came to ask directions," he said calmly.

"Heh, Boss, he speaks the foreign tongue," smirked a soldier.

"Pretty, too," commented another with a dark sneer.

"Come in, boy," said the Shogun, in common tongue. Telanis didn't like the look in his eyes, nor the lustful currents he could feel from several of the soldiers. He moved to back out of the room, but an armored chest blocked him.

"What's this?" said the soldier who had been on his way into the tent, taking hold of Telanis's hands and twisting them behind his back with ease. Telanis was too surprised to struggle, glancing back at his captor in confusion.

"Damn, he's a pretty one," the soldier remarked gruffly.

"Ain't he? You boys haven't seen much action lately. Why don't you have some fun," the general smirked. Several of the soldiers looked pleased with this suggestion, while some snorted to each other, gathering their weapons to return to patrol. The man who held Telanis from behind remained in the room, with 7 others. The general closed the door tightly behind him, and another man locked it shut.

Telanis glanced around at the humans, alarm spreading through his nerves. Their excitement ran into him, and he knew it was a bad sign.

"Hey, look, Yamato. He seems interested," smirked a soldier, gesturing at Telanis's pants.

"No," Telanis said darkly, "That's only because you are..." he couldn't possibly explain without revealing what he was.

"Shut up, foreigner," said the voice behind him, pinning him roughly chest-first against the wall. "You're pretty enough to be a woman, so learn to shut up like one."

The old man outside watched the door of the building anxiously, knowing full well what might be happening inside. But there was nothing he could do about it.

Laya walked down the street admiring the prett kimono... she was always fasinated by them, even though she felt she was walking around in a bath robe...

The town seem awfully sad, but some were adapting to it, so it looked like. She noticed people watched her, sinc she looked very different than them...

Telanis was struggling to get his arms free behind him. He could hear his tunic rip away from his lean, white torso and a rough hand touch his skin. He shoved backward, throwing two men's weight with the effort, but they were back upon him in a moment and crushed him harder against the wall. He gasped and struggled harder.

"He's so quiet. Maybe he's enjoying it," smirked one of the soldiers.

"If you're scared, why don't you scream for help. Not that anyone would dare come in here to rescue you," another snorted.

Strong hands yanked him around to face the soldiers and pinned his arms out against the wall. He could feel their raging lust and cruelty smothering his consciousness, and reviled the fact that he had to feel it with them. He looked over their faces, and couldn't find a trace of sympathy in any of them. Was this what his brother was talking about?

A harsh hand grabbed the front of his pants much harder than it should have. Telanis's eyes widened in rage and lust. ~STOP!~ he bellowed darkly, though his gritted teeth never parted to say the word. The protest boomed through the soldiers' minds and through those of everyone nearby the building. Outside, people stopped and held their heads as if a ghost had just spoken to them.

In his stall, Adonis's head jerked up suddenly. He'd barely heard it, but that was definitely Telanis. Pain and anger and feelings that couldn't have been his own flowed through the mental current. Very few things could make his brother yell like that. He rushed to the front of his stall and made himself stop. Telanis needed to learn this the hard way. A moment later, another wave of more intense pain went through his head.

Adonis's ears flattened against his head. His brother could learn nothing if he didn't survive the experience. But he was stuck here. Maybe....he remembered the girl from last night. He didn't trust her, but would she be willing to go to him? Unable to wait anymore, he let out a loud whinny that echoed across the yard, snorting and kicking at his door and making as much ruckus as possible.

Laya was walking outside the building, well, on the other side of the road... She heard the voice enter her head and she looked around thinking she had heard it... it was paniced... angry... or she thought it was that. "Telanis?"

She had this dreadful feeling suddenly that he was in grave danger... or horrible trouble. ~Telanis!!~ It was like some invisible force was dragging her towards the building across the road. She knew, she just knew he was in that building.

She ran, almost shoving the old man out of the way. She opened up the door and stopped. Please, don't let this feeling be wrong...

She checked the doors and rooms until she found a locked one. She kicked... and kicked... and kicked... She wasn't the strongest girl in the world... but she was determined.

"Telanis!!" she screamed. She knew he was in there...

Kratos' head snapped around towards the direction of the stable. Fearing the worst, he ran out and woke up his sister.

"Neko, there's trouble." he told his groggy sister. eko came fully awake at the sounds coming from outside in the stable and the siblings ran to greet the raging dark horse.

"Calm boy!" neko called out to him. "What's wrong?"

Adonis felt satisfaction as the humans rushed outside, but didn't stop kicking at the door. He reared, whinnied and stomped back down the ground, tossing his head firmly at Laya and staring at her with white showing around his deep brown eyes. He coudln't believe he was doing this, but it was an emergency.

Telanis was on his knees after the knee he'd just gotten in the stomach. Hands were touching him roughly, grabbing onto him, yanking at the lip of his pants. He had no idea what was happening, and yet he did, because he could feel through their minds what they wanted to do, and parts of him he couldn't control wanted the same things.

One of the men turned toward the door. "Someone wants to come in," he muttered.

"Let em wait." The pounding continued. "Damnit, Oto, see what it is. The soldier who'd been named went to the door, unlocked it, and looked out into the corridor at the young woman standing there. His gaze darkened. "Come to join the party?" he smirked, grabbing the stunned girl's hand and yanking her into the room hard enough to dislocate her wrist.

Unconsciously understanding exactly what the horse wanted, Neko unlocked the door to the stable, ignoring kratos' panicked remarks. Neko mounted Adonis in one fluid motion and held out her hand to kratos to climb up.

"There's something wrong!" was all she told her brother as he hesitantly got on the horse.
