Lore:(Mature)To fetch some clothes...

This is the forest that covers most of Ighten in dense and thick trees. It is the oldest forest in Heirot, since most of the Forests in Arken have been destroyed. It is well known as a haunted forest where ghosts and demons reside. In the forest are many villages. The villagers will tell you tales of trees that eat people, gaint spiders, and dragon lairs.

Vlad smirked at Tenele. "Forgive me, maiden girl. He touched me first, after all. I feel it within my rights to be a bit possessive of him," he teased.

"Oh yes," Tenele said and through the covers off, revealing slender toned legs that disappeared under a long tunic shirt. "I forgot you swung that way. I mean, the way you treated Crackers should have been a clue." She stood up on quivering legs that felt she needed more rest and more food, but she refused to be any weaker than she had already made herself look in Vlad's eyes.

She was still hungry.

She held herself up casually using the side of the bed, which came up to her waist almost it was so high. She noticed a set of steps against the bed that was probably used for average sized women such as herself.

Vlad made no response to Tenele's statement. "You may be wiser to stay in bed," he warned casually, facing the other way.

Tenele narrowed her eyes and as if to spit him, she let go of the bed. "I'm fine," she said and took several slow steps forward, consentrating on keeping her legs from buckling. She walked to the window and put her hands on the glass, looking at the rain that didn't want to stop.

"How long will we stay here?" she asked.

"Well since you're fine, I suppose we'll leave right now," Vlad said. He hated the words as he spoke them.

Tenele looked back at him and then out the window. "Fine," she said not liking his tone of voice. She turned, going to prove that she wasn't weak and didn't need rest. But, just as she turned her knees buckled and she crumpled to the floor, sitting on her legs. "Shit."

Shit, Vlad whispered at the same time as Tenele as he heard her lose her balance. He turned back to face her and found her kneeling on the floor. He was so cruel to her. Was he always like this? Why was he suddenly so conscious of it? Why didn't he stop even though he could see it?

"I'm too tired to go back out. I want to stay here the night," he forced himself to say. If she wanted to act tough so badly he would have to get her to stay another way, even if it meant acting weak.

Tenele looked up at him and just sat there. She didn't think she could get up. "Well, if that's what you want." She folded her arms and then after a moment pushed herself up. She walked to the bed, climbed up the steps and fell back into the cushioning fabric.

"I'm sure they have other rooms that you might want to stay in. I don't think you want to share a bed with me."

Vlad crossed his arms. "I'm not leaving you in an empty room with our dingbat hosts," he retorted.

"You seem very protecive of someone you don't care about," she muttered as she crawled to the head of the bed and crawled under the covers. "Its not like they'll try anything. I'm sure they have a thing for eachother or something. I think you need to worry about yourself more."

Maybe in reality he was just afraid to be in a room alone with himself.

Vlad's pride didn't deal well with this second rejection. "I'll do that, then. Good evening, Maiden Girl," he said pointedly, and walked out of the room. Out in the hallway with the door closed behind him, he came to a stop and just stood there, thinking. Maybe she'd meant it about not caring about him. He really didn't want to leave her alone when their hosts were so peculiar, but on the other hand, he would be able to hear if anything went amiss. He crossed his arms and leaned against the wall.

When she watched him leave it broke her heart again. She didn't expect him to leave. She expected him to put up a fight to stay. "He really doesn't care," she said and put a hand to her head, crying softly into the hand. "He really doesn't." She rolled over, curling into a tight bally and wrapping an around around her head to hide her face as she cried softly as a bolt of lighting pounded to the ground, shaking the mansion walls.

Vlad rubbed his wet hair restlessly as he stood in the hall. He didn't like being outside the room. She might need something. It was so odd...he felt this powerful need to go back in. But she didn't want him there. Was he just being selfish again? The concept that being selfish was anything less than justified was still new to him. He decided he would go back in, but not let her know. Recalling that almost no light shone on the back corner of the room, to the left of Tenele's headboard, he focused and teleported himself there.

Inside the room, he looked up to see Tenele curled over, crying. It was so unexpected that he almost teleported back out. Why? He wanted to know what she was thinking. He had never before been so affected by another person's tears. Quietly, he walked to her side, and his hand slipped around hers very lightly, moving it away from her face. His ruby eyes gazed at her carefully.

Tenele didn't move away, it was almost as if she could feel who the touch was coming from. She let them move her hand from her eyes and she stared directly at Vlad's ruby orbs. She didn't know what to say to him. She just stared at him. Her green eyes glowed with the emotions flooding through her. Her cheeks were wet with tears. She took in a shaky breath, still staring at him.

Vlad didn't know exactly what she was thinking, but he knew it was because of him. And that he did care about her, because if he didn't, her tearstreaked face wouldn't be so achingly beautiful. How far that feeling extended, and whether or not he was comfortable with it, he could figure out later.

Breaking his eyes away from hers, he paused for a moment before lowering his head. Kneeling on the steps beside her bed, he pressed his lips gently to the back of her hand. "I'm sorry, my lady," he said solemnly, and rested his forehead lightly on her knuckles, his fingers still braced around hers. He felt like he couldn't breathe. It had been so hard to say. He squeezed his eyes shut to keep from screwing it up.
